One of my all-time favourite beauty products is the IT Cosmetics CC Cream.
Now this CC cream comes in a ton of different formulas now, but to me, all of them are winners. This CC cream gives you amazing coverage, skincare benefits, sun protection, and so much more. Although there are different formulas in the line, I usually gravitate towards either the original or the matte one.
Well, now there’s a new version in the line which has quickly started to steal my heart too…
The IT Cosmetics CC+ Nude Glow Lightweight Foundation + Glow Serum with SPF 40 and Niacinamide (C$53) is a colour-correcting, medium-coverage skin tint that protects skin from the sun thanks to SPF 40 and also brightens skin, leaving you with a visibly healthy glow.
This CC cream comes in a staggering 22 shades (so many more than what IT Cosmetics originally offered when they first launched the original version of this product so many years ago). Ideal for all sorts of skin types, this CC cream will give you a medium coverage and a radiant complexion.
As the name suggests, the thing that makes this version different from the others is the Niacinamide, which helps to visibly brighten skin, smooths skin texture, and reduces the look of dark spots and large pores. It also has hyaluronic acid to brighten, plump, and hydrate skin, as well as green tea extract to protect skin against environmental aggressors.
This CC cream also has a 90 per cent skincare base, meaning it will nourish skin as you wear it. Although it is a medium coverage, you can build it up for coverage that will leave your skin looking flawless.
So how does this compare to the other formulas? I would say it’s closest to the original version, however, it’s not as heavy on the skin. If you find the OG to be too heavy then I think you’ll really love this version. Since it has the SPF in it, I think that this is the perfect companion to your summer beach or pool day since it gives skin a flawless glow and will protect it all at the same time.

I’m so happy it’s finally summer.
After a winter that just seemed to never end, followed by lots of rain, the weather has finally decided to cooperate and warm up this week. I’ve already spent a few mornings outside in the sun and first thing I do before heading out for an hour of tanning is to apply sunscreen.
Now I was always the person that never tanned. I have really pale skin that would get a little bit of colour but never that bronze glow that I coveted that other people would get. When COVID first started in spring 2020 since I was working from home, I decided to take full advantage of my patio and would work outside in the morning in the sun, working on my tan. For the time in my life I actually managed to get a tan and I was shocked that my skin was able to actually take on that colour.
Now the thing that helped was applying sunscreen. I used a spray screen since I found it gave me a nice glow that attracted the sun, but yet still kept me safe. Ever since then I’m a changed woman and always have to have a good sunscreen on me when spending time outside working on my tan.
Now a sunscreen brand I have been using for years and love is Sun Bum. You might recognize this sunscreen since it comes in adorable packaging and has a monkey for the label. Their products are cruelty-free, vegan, gluten free, reef friendly, sulphate free, and paraben free. If you’ve never used their products before, I definitely recommend picking some up since the formula is amazing and it smells delightful.

Sun Bum Original SPF 30 Sunscreen Lotion
The Sun Bum Original Sunscreen Lotion (C$17.99), available in three sizes, is a moisturizing sunscreen that will nourish skin and protect it from the sun. The formula contains Vitamin E, which is an antioxidant that helps to neutralize free radicals, which can cause premature skin aging.
Sun Bum has this formula in a variety of SPF factors, but I’m a big fan of the SPF 30 since I find it’s the middle of the road protection factor. Usually when I buy a sunscreen I tend to go for SPF 15 or 30 since I find them on the lighter side and not too heavy. I have also used 45, 50, 60, which are also good and believe it or not, will also help with your tan.
Sun Bum Original SPF Sunscreen Spray
For those who like a spray better, check out the Sun Bum Original SPF Sunscreen Spray (C$19.49)
This spray is the same original formula but in a handy spray bottle, which allows for faster application and an easier way to get those hard-to-reach spots like your back.
This formula is an ultra sheer/dry touch in a continuous spray formula that protects you from the sun while also nourishing skin with Vitamin E.
Personally I do prefer a spray for sitting at the pool or beach for tanning since it leaves your skin glowy, which then attracts the sun. If I’m using it for just being outside (let’s say on a walk), I do prefer a lotion since I like the texture of a lotion better when I’m wearing clothes (I find a spray tends to be a little tacky or sticky feeling).

Sun Bum After Sun Cool Down Lotion
After a long day in the sun your skin will need some moisture (it also helps with the maintenance of the tan), and that’s where the Sun Bum After Sun Cool Down (C$13.99) comes in.
This lotion, which is also great for sunburns, revitalizes skin and provides hydration thanks to a formula containing soothing aloe and Vitamin E. The texture of this is really nice on application since it’s light and non-greasy. I do recommend picking up a product like this since you never know when you’re going to burn. It’s also great for long days at the pool or beach to nourish skin after hours in the sun.
Sun Bum Curls Detangler Spray
Every spend a day at the lake, pool, or ocean and your hair is just a mess after? Yeah, I’ve been there a few times. If you have curly hair then you’ll love the Sun Bum Curls Detangler Spray (C$17.97).
This spray helps condition and smooth out curly hair, while also nourishing it and taming frizz. The formula also helps to reduce breakage and enhance natural shine while also protecting hair from the sun.
Now I don’t have curly hair but can still get some benefit from this since I always shower and wash my hair after it gets wet and this product definitely helps with brushing out any tangles left over from the day. Just like skin, the sun is very dry and damaging on your hair and this product will help to keep your gorgeous locks nourished, protected, and silky smooth.
Sun Bum Sunscreen Lip Balm
Every morning I apply a sunscreen to my face regardless of if I’m going out or not. I also always keep a lip bam with me at all times, so when I saw the Sun Bum Sunscreen Lip Balm (C$4.99) I knew this product would be right up my alley.
This lip balm features SPF 30 protection so lips stay protected. It also has aloe and Vitamin E to nourish lips and keeps them nice and safe. I think we often forget about lips when it comes to sun protection and if you are planning on spending a lot of time outdoors this summer then a SPF lip balm is a must. This particular one comes in a variety of different delicious scents like banana, coconut, watermelon, pineapple, and more.

So in addition to it being the best day ever (aka my birthday!), today is also World Smile Day. Now I didn’t know this holiday actually existed but it’s extra special this year since we no longer have to wear masks after a long two years of hiding our faces.
I haven’t been much of a makeup wearer over these past two years since I hated the feeling of the mask on my makeup. It was especially the worst with lip products.
