Inside beauty: The vitamins and probiotics I’m taking right now

So seeing how this is a beauty blog and I talk about products all the time that help you feel beautiful I feel like it’s about time that I share some of the items that help my insides feel beautiful too.

Yes, makeup and skincare makes us feel good in the moment but your body needs to be in a good place to feel good mentally.  Over the past year I have been taking supplements and probiotics and I have definitely noticed a difference in my skin, nails, and hair, as well as my sleep and my mental health.

There are so many options out there in terms of daily supplements, but I wanted to share a few favourites of mine lately that have been working for my body and mind.

Genuine Health Advanced Gut Health Probiotic for Mood

Genuine Health Advanced Gut Health Probiotic for Mood

Have you ever noticed that you feel more depressed or down in the winter months.

Since it’s so cold out and the sun goes down so early, we often get hit Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), which makes you feel depressed when its overcast out or when it snows or rains all the time.  The sun and weather really do have a huge effect on our mental health and as I’ve gotten older, I have definitely noticed that the weather affects how I feel everyday.

I’ve recently started taking Genuine Health’s Advanced Gut Health Probiotic for Mood (C$49.99) lately as part of A Sculpt Body’s Back to Basics program and I have already been noticing a difference in how I feel during the day.

This extra-strength probiotic was made to reduce perceived stress and improve your quality of life.  All it takes is one capsule a day to deliver 15 balanced probiotic strains for both your gut health and emotional health.  It also has Extramel melon juice concentrate that is proven to help reduce stress and fatigue.

I take a capsule everyday with my breakfast and have noticed a difference in my mood and energy levels. This is made with probiotic strains that are chosen to improve mood, as well as react to stressful stimuli and sleep quality.  It helps to reduce stress and fatigue, leaving you feeling happier and more alert.  Genuine Health says that people also started seeing significant improvements in perceived stress and overall wellbeing in just 28 days after taking these probiotics regularly.

I was skeptical on these when I first got them but I do have to say I have noticed a difference.  I also have the Omega 3+ Joy capsules as well but haven’t tried them yet. Genuine Health offers these two products as a bundle on their site for C$70 (regular C$96.98) if you are interested.

Mary Kay Daily Benefits Antioxidants

Mary Kay Daily Benefits Antioxidants

I’m relatively new to the whole antioxidant thing, but when I got Mary Kay’s new Daily Benefits Antioxidants (C$40) last fall I figured I would give them a try.

These capsules are a vegetarian formula that is aimed to deliver daily wellness support, as well as support for the body’s natural antioxidant system to help fight free radicals and support skin against daily stressors.

These antioxidants are aimed to deliver daily wellness support through nutrient and botanical antioxidants.  The nutrient antioxidant sources are Vitamins A, C, and E, as well as zinc, whereas the botanical antioxidant sources are grapeseed extract and resveratrol.

Not only do these help balance and support the body’s antioxidant systems to fight free radicals that cause aging, but it also defends skin against things that can affect it daily.

Tula Balanced Beauty Gummy Vitamins for Strong Hair, Skin, and Nails Plus Probiotics

Tula Balanced Beauty Gummy Vitamins for Strong Hair, Skin, and Nails Plus Probiotics

Out of all the items in this lineup, I have been using the Tula Balanced Beauty Gummy Vitamins ($60 USD, use code SHAYNA for 15% off) the longest.

Available in a jar of 60 gummies, these berry blend gummy vitamins contains both biotin and folic acid to support healthy skin and promote hair and nail growth.  These also contain Tula’s famous probiotics and prebiotics to help calm bloating by improving the natural balance of the digestive system.

Each jar contains a 30-day supply (two gummies per day; I take them in the morning), however Tula also has a seven-day supply if you want to see if you like them.  The formula is natural and vegan and is formulated without gluten, soy, preservatives, artificial colours, flavours, or sweeteners. I really like the taste and they really do taste like a berry blend, which in this case consists of cranberry, raspberry, cherry, strawberry, blueberry, and elderberry.

I really love these and have gone through countless containers of them.  I love the idea of a daily gummy to support hair, skin and nails, and even better if they are from my favourite skincare brand!

I take these three every morning. Typically I will take the Tula dummies after my workout and then the other two with my breakfast.  I have found with pill supplements that if I take them on an empty stomach it can make me nauseous for some reason, so I always make sure to take them with breakfast.

I look forward to continuing my supplement journey and trying new things that help make my body feel better and healthier.
