Serum savers: Three serums to try out this spring

A love a good serum.

When it comes to skincare products which should be in your routine, there are a lot of items to choose from but one that is a necessity?  A serum!

Depending on what your skincare concerns are, there is a serum for just about anything. I usually rotate through three or four of them and I have ones for day and for night.

If you are on the hunt for a new serum to add to your collection, then don’t worry, I got you. Just keep reading…

Glow Recipe Avocado Ceramide Redness Relief Serum

Glow Recipe Avocado Ceramide Redness Relief Serum

I love Glow Recipe’s Avocado Melt Retinol Eye Sleeping Mask, so when they dropped a new serum in their avocado line, I was ecstatic to try it out.

The Glow Recipe Avocado Ceramide Redness Relief Serum (C$56),  which is a serum made of avocado and ceramics to help reduce the look of redness and irritation, as well as loss of firmness and elasticity.

This serum contains avocado butter and extract to soothe and nourish skin, ceramide 5 to reduce redness, and allantoin to soothe and calm skin.

If you suffer from redness, blemishes, dehydrated skin, or wrinkles, then you’ll probably like this serum.  It has a jelly-like texture, similar to their other serums so it’s nice and cooling on application.

CeraVe Skin Renewing Vitamin C Serum

CeraVe Skin Renewing Vitamin C Serum

I chatted a couple of weeks ago about the importance of incorporating Vitamin C into your skincare routine.  Incorporating a Vitamin C into your morning skincare routine will help to visibly brighten and even out the look of your skin for a more fresh and glowing appearance. It also helps to prevent damage against environmental aggressors and pollution.

If you are looking for an affordable Vitamin C serum, then CeraVe has you covered.  The CeraVe Skin Renewing Vitamin C Serum (C$29.99) has 10 per cent pure Vitamin C (L-ascorbic acid).  L-ascorbic acid is the purest form of Vitamin C and is the one that is the most effective for the skin. When applied on the skin it helps to neutralize free radicals, which often lead to signs of premature skin aging.

This serum, when applied daily, can help to brighten the complexion and promote a more even skin tone.  It also contains three essential ceramides, hyaluronic acid, and Vitamin B5 to help improve texture, rest the skin’s protective barrier, and enhance hydration for soft, glowing, and healthy-looking skin.

Suitable for all skin types, this serum is a great and affordable way to incorporate Vitamin C into your routine.

Guerlain beille Royale Eye R Serum

Guerlain Abeille Royale Eye R Serum

I love the Guerlain Abeille Royale line, which is on constant rotation in my nighttime skincare routine.  I currently have the Anti-Aging Fortifying Lotion Toner, the Anti-Aging Double R Facial Serum, and the Youth Watery Anti-Aging Oil and love using this trio to keep my skin looking young and vibrant.

New to the Abeille Royale line is the Eye R Serum (C$155), which is an anti-aging eye serum that is designed to minimize wrinkles, puffiness, and dark circles around the eyes.  The formula contains Black Bee Repair Technology, which supports the skin’s natural revitalization process, as well as naturally derived tensing polymers, which allow for a more visible lifting effect, and their exclusive anti-fatigue complex, which combines three plant extracts with naturally derived micro-nacres for a more radiant complexion.

This eye serum also has an innovative applicator, which features a cooling head to calm the skin, as well as deliver a precise dose of the product. The gold drop applicator has been designed to give a 360-degree massage application so the product is worked into the skin to perfection.

Finally, this eye serum is made with 94 per cent naturally derived ingredients, so although it’s not 100 per cent clean beauty, it’s pretty darn close.

Later on this week I’ll be sharing more new skincare products that have come out recently.  There are so many products that are released every month that sometimes it can be tough to keep up, but regardless of what you use and what brand you use, adding a serum into your routine is a definite must.

Which serums do you use in your skincare routine?
