The bee’s knees.. Marc Jacobs Honey

MJ Honey Hi Res

Ooooh honey!

I am such a sucker for cute perfume bottles, that I was buzzing with excitement when I laid my eyes on Marc Jacobs new fragrance Honey.

Honey (which is the sister to last year’s Dot) is a sunny enticing floral with top notes of pear, fruity punch, and juicy mandarin.  Other notes include orange blossom, peach nectar, honeysuckle, honey, golden vanilla, and smooth woods.

I received a lab sample of this bad boy and although it’s a fall release, I find it’s more of a spring scent.  I really smell the citrus in it and because of that, it’s not really a scent that I would sport during the fall (I like muskier ones).  Luckily, it was just released, so you can still rock it for the rest of summer

Speaking of summer, the bottle is so season appropriate.  The bottle is a glass bubble with yellow and black striped butterflies (not bees – kinda odd considering the name), that is so eye-catching.  I’m so shallow that I would probably buy this for the bottle alone, regardless of what it smells like (although I actually do like the scent).   A yellow with white polka dot Yoshi egg acts as the topper.

The eau de parfum is available in either 50ml (C$80) or 100ml (C$105) and is available at Hudson’s Bay, Sears, Holt Renfrew, Ogilvy, Murale, Shopper’s Drug Mart, London Drugs, John Coutu, and Sephora.  It also comes in a radiant body lotion.

Marc Jacobs really knows how to do perfumes (Lola, anyone?), so next time you are in your favourite beauty locale, take a sniff!

Now the fun part! To celebrate this sweet new release, Marc Jacobs Fragrances has started a social media campaign called #MJHONEYSPOTS, where the company is encouraging anyone and everyone to snap a pic of either themselves or their friends in their favourite spots/venues/eateries and then share the photo on Instagram or Twitter using the hashtag #MJHONEYSPOTS.   From that, Marc Jacobs Fragrances is making a map of the #MJHONEYSPOTS around the world.

If you are one of those lucky little bees that live in one of Canada’s more metropolitan centres (not Winnipeg, boo!), look out for special Marc Jacobs Honey ice cream trucks making pit stops in Toronto (and maybe more! Who knows where they will be flying around to!)
