Nail art made easy: L’Oreal Paris Colour Riche Nail Lingerie

title

When it comes to the trend du jour, nail art is still hip and happening.  Now, if you are like me and pin away nail designs, but can’t seem to imitate the glorious works of art of other bloggers, you may need a little help.

Fear not because a number of cosmetic companies are coming out with their own version of those popular sticker nail polishes that making nail art oh so easy.

The latest one of the bunch is by L’Oreal Paris, who released their Colour Riche Nail Lingerie last month.  Available in a number of different patterns, these are meant to be applied over top of any colour polish you choose.  They require no dry time and are billed to last 10 days.

I tried out Elite Chic, which adds a gradient gold sparkle effect to any mani.  I have been loving pinky-nude nails with gold so I layered this over Sally Hansen’s Complete Salon Manicure in Shell We Dance.   Like the Sally Hansen nail stickers, you find the one that best fits your nail (it’s recommended to go a little larger than your nail so it can fit perfectly on the edges) and then fold over the excess and file away at the tip.

I didn’t end up keeping these on for 10 days (maybe five), because I just didn’t like them as much as I thought I would.  I found that at the tips of my nails looked bumpy because they just didn’t lay flat, so it looked like I was wearing a sticker.  Also, I found that part of the sticker would come off, so I would have to cut that part, luckily it wasn’t noticeable because I have the colour on underneath.

Compared to other brands out there (Essie, Sally Hansen, Maybelline – although I haven’t tried the Maybelline ones), I didn’t really enjoy these as much.  I find I would be picking away at them throughout the day until eventually I just peeled a nail off, and then I had to peel all them off.

I loved the concept of these but I have to say that they didn’t live up to the hype in my opinion.  The Colour Riche Press-On Nails on the other hand (also a new product from L’Oreal Paris), LOVE those.

Nail art and summer nail polish colours were also the FASHION magazine Beauty Panel challenge for last week, where I did this same nail look.

Have you tried the L’Oreal Paris Colour Riche Nail Lingerie?  What were your thoughts?

Please note, I was provided this product from PR.  All opinions are my own.
