I always suffer from dry hands in the fall and winter, however, lately with all the hand washing and sanitizing I have been doing, my hands have been feeling and looking a little dull and dry lately as well.
I have a lot of office staples, with one of them being a good hand moisturizer. I always have to have a hand lotion at my desk. At home, I have one on my coffee table, beside my bed, heck, I even have a little one in my purse. Our hands get used a lot, so it’s important that you are keeping them nice and moisturized. Because moisturized hands equals healthy hands.
Anyways, if you are on the hunt for a good hand lotion, I have rounded up some newer ones I have received lately, all of which come in handy smaller packaging, meaning they are compact enough to follow you wherever you may go.
Lotus Aroma Intensive Hand Repair Cream
I’m brand new to Lotus Aroma, but they recently sent me a box of wellness goodies, including essential oils and a diffuser, body oil, this hand cream, and even hand sanitizer (seriously, who would have thought I would get this excited about hand sanitizer?!).
The Intensive Hand Repair Cream (C$16.99) is designed to relieve damaged, dry, and chapped hands, leaving them feeling soft and nourished. The formula includes minerals, omegas, vitamins, and antioxidants, and the star ingredient is gatuline, which is a plant-based compound that significantly reduces water loss and protects the skin barrier.
This hand cream is also vegan, gluten-free, and GMO free. Its active ingredients are 100 per cent plant based and it has a 99.8 per cent authentic natural formula.
Mary Kay Satin Hands Protecting Softener and Nourishing Shea Cream
You guys know I like Mary Kay products and I’ve had a few of their Satin Hands products throughout the years.
For the most moisturized hands, take a look at this range, which also includes a Refining Shea Scrub. For some intense care, first go in with the scrub (you can get all three products as a set for C$51), and then apply the Nourishing Shea Cream and then the Protecting Softener.
Out of all three products, I would go with the Nourishing Shea Cream, since this is something you can bring with you everywhere. The protecting softener is nice but is aimed for more extra dry and chapped skin since it has a more petroleum consistency to it. It would also be great to use as a hand mask. Apply this first, then put gloves on to lock in the moisture.
Neutrogena Hydro Boost Hand Gel Cream
I love Neutrogena’s Hydro Boost line, so naturally when I saw there was a hand cream, I knew I would instantly love it.
The Neutrogena Hydro Boost Hand Gel Cream (C$9.99) brings the brand’s facial hydration expertise to your hands. This is an ultra-light gel-cream formula that is powered by hyaluronic acid and is aimed to maintain the skin’s moisture barrier and lock in hydration.
Best part is, it’s a non-greasy feeling, meaning that you won’t be clenching your hands trying to get them to absorb all that extra product (clammy hands are the worst).
No matter what hand cream you pick up, I’m sure it will do a great job of protecting your hands and keeping them nourished. It’s obviously very important that we are washing our hands lots to keep us safe and healthy, but make sure to keep a hand lotion on you as well to protect this valuable body part against dehydration.

I’ve always been a fan of Mary Kay’s Lash Love mascara.
I’ve had a few different versions of it through the years; the original in limited edition packaging, the waterproof version… no matter how it looked, I always knew it would perform well. So when I got their newest version of Lash Love, Lash Love Fanorama, I was really excited to try it out.
Lash Love Fanorama (C$21) is a limited-edition mascara by the brand that is designed to give you feathery lashes with a fanned-out effect. The brush features a zigzag design to cover your lashes in the original Lash Love formula, and targets your lashes to coat, comb, and fan them out. The brush also has staggered rows of soft and silicone bristles to apply as much mascara to the lashes as possible.
This mascara is only available in one shade (I <3 Black) and is safe for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers. At first glance of the brush I thought I would really enjoy it, however, when using it I didn’t love it as much as the original Lash Love. I didn’t find that it made my lashes look longer or fanned out. It just made them more noticeable, which is what any mascara does anyways.
I love how it’s the same formula with a different brush to give your lashes a whole new look. I’m actually interested to maybe see if using the two kinds together would give you dramatic lashes, but I haven’t tried that out just yet.
Overall, if you really like the Lash Love mascara, I would probably just stick with the original formula. With that being said, since this is limited edition, if you did want to try it out and you didn’t love it, you could probably swap out the brushes. I’m not sure if the original wand would fit on this packaging but I would assume it would be the same.
Have you tried Mary Kay’s new Lash Love Fanorama mascara?

The one beauty product I have to have on me at all times? A lip balm.
I have balms of all shapes and sizes. I have affordable ones, I have expensive ones, I have coloured ones, I have translucent ones, others have SPF in them… you get the point.
Anyways, since you can really never have enough lip balm in your collection, I always get so excited when new ones come my way and lately I’ve been getting a few different luxe ones. Now, spending over $20 for a lip balm may sound excessive, but it is nice to have a more fancier balm to carry with you in your bag, especially if you are going out for the evening or day. Heck, since I’m not even wearing any makeup most days, it’s pretty nice to have at least something fancy to put on my face, even if there is no colour involved.
Anyways, if you are on the hunt for a new luxe lip balm to add to your collection, then here are three that I think you’ll love.
Mary Kay Intuitive pH Lip Balm
Limited-edition from Mary Kay, the Intuitive pH Lip Balms (C$21 each) are a shade-changing lip balm that reacts with the pH levels in your skin to create a colour that is custom to you. Every person that applies this balm will be left with a different colour, which makes this product so unique and fun.
The lip balm, which is available in pink and berry, is very moisturizing and will leave your lips hydrated for hours. The best part is that with every purchase of one of these lip balms, Mary Kay will donate $1 towards supporting the Mary Kay Ash Charitable Foundation efforts to invest in cancer research for women-related cancers and efforts to end domestic violence against women in Canada. Total win-win.
NARS Afterglow Lip Balm
If you want a really bougie lip balm, then check out NARS’ Afterglow Lip Balm (C$37). These lip balms (available in eight shades), have Monoi Hydrating Complex in them to give you smooth and supple lips, as well as a blend of antioxidants to help protect and nourish.
Seven of the eight shades have a sheer colour to them, whereas the eighth one is translucent (Clean Cut). These leave your lips feeling nice and hydrated and also feature SPF 10 (at least Clean Cut does, not sure about the rest of them).
I have two shades, Clean Cut and Orgasm. I actually received these in New York and only brought the translucent one back with me (Orgasm is still in New York), but I keep this on me at all times in my purse and have found it really handy to apply whenever my lips feel dry. The other shade I have, Orgasm, gives you a slight pinky red colour that is very flattering on.
Avon VDL Expert Colour Lip Cube Marble Glow
Finally, new from Avon and VDL is the Expert Colour Lip Cube Marble Glow ($40), which is a lip balm that delivers soft colour and intense moisture to the lips.
Available in three shades (Blooming Pink, Blessing Coral, and Mint Flavor, which is colourless), these lip balms include 80 per cent moisturizing oil to instantly condition the lips and add shine. It features a unique diamond shape, which takes some getting used to, but applies the product precisely to the lips.
I do like this balm but find that at $40 it’s a bit rich to pick up for a lip balm (especially since you can get a similar one from Dior or Chanel for around the same price). I have the pink shade and do like it and the packaging definitely feels very luxe. This lip balm is on sale right now for $32, so if you really want it, then I would recommend contacting your local Avon rep ASAP!
Like I said before, I love a good lip balm and it’s definitely my desert island product. With the whole mask thing going on, lipstick may not be the best product to wear right now, but you’ll want to carry around a lip balm for when those puckers feel dry. Might as well be a fancy one.
