October is one of my favourites months of the year.
Maybe it’s the seasons changing, the pretty colours of the leaves, or Halloween, which is one of my favourite holidays, October brings so much to the table and I’m so happy it’s here.
We are already halfway through and I know it’s crazy to already be thinking about winter and the holidays, but just like the rest of the year, I’m sure these next few months will just fly by.
Skincare has been huge the past few months and as we head into probably another lockdown soon, skincare will continue to be really popular. if you are looking for some new products to try out, then keep reading!

The formula of this cleanser contains papaya enzymes and roselle flower extracts to brighten skin and make it softer, smoother, and brighter. It also has hyaluronic acid and grapeseed oil to hydrate skin while reducing the appearance of hyperpigmentation.

IT Cosmetics It’s Your Quick and Easy Makeup Routine
You guys know I love IT Cosmetics and although they have a wonderful makeup line, they also offer up amazing skincare items as well.
If you are wanting to try out their skincare products but don’t know where to start, take a look at the It’s You’re Quick and Easy Makeup Routine, which is on major sale right now (C$24 valued for C$44).
This set comes with minis of their Confidence in a Cream Anti-Aging Moisturizing Face Cream (15 ml), the Confidence in a Cream Anti-Aging Anti-Wrinkling Brightening Eye Cream (5 ml), and the Confidence in a Cleanser Hydrating Cleansing Serum (20 ml). Isa Knox ANEW Collagen Booster Rejuvenating Serum Ampoules and Microneedling Polisher
I’ve been a fan of the Isa Knox ANEW line for years and always get excited when new products show up at my door.
Brand new from the brand are two new products, which are part of their Collagen Booster line. First is the Collagen Booster Rejuvenating Serum Ampoules (C$88), which are serum pods that contain a blend of peptides that boost the body’s natural production of collagen. There are 60 ampoules in the jar and they are designed to be used morning and night.
Pair the serum with their Collagen Booster Microneedling Polisher Exfoliant (C$48), which is an at-home skin-resurfacing alternative to microdermabrasion and microneedling. Massage a small amount to your face up to three times a week then rinse. With regular use, this product will improve the appearance of pores, as well as make it look younger, more radiant and smoother thanks to a combination of gentle exfoliators that polish away dead skin cells and diminish the look of fine lines and wrinkles.
There are so many amazing products to try out this month and I’ll be sharing a few more in the weeks to come. I talk about skincare a lot on here and really enjoy trying out new products in general. The skincare industry has evolved so much over the years and there are some incredible items to try out.

Ah yes, YSL lipsticks.. some of my all-time favourites.
No matter what the colour is, my heart will always skip a beat when I see a YSL lipstick show up at my door. I’ve used a few of their formulas over the year and have always really appreciated the quality of the formula and the intricate details of the packaging as a whole. Plus, the fact that it’s YSL is a huge selling feature for me. I love any beauty brand that is put out by a luxury couture house (#bougie).
Anyways, I have tried YSL Beauty’s Rouge Pur Couture lipsticks in the past, of which they have a few different lines in this formula. For fall 2020, they have just released a new version to add to the line up.
The YSL Rouge Pur Couture Slim Glow Matte (C$50) is a long-lasting lipstick that comes in a unique slim square stick. The odd shape of the lipstick is actually convenient since it is designed to hug the natural curve of your lips. This lipstick delivers pigmented colour in a matte finish that is lightweight and comfortable.
Available in 12 shades, this lipstick contains light-reflecting pearls and mallow flower extracts from the YSL Beauty Ourika Garden (so fancy!). YSL sent me five shades to try out, two reds, a pink, a nude, and a brown. The shade range all lean on the darker side of things and is a rich and deep colour that looks very mature. I do find these to be matte in finish and the texture of them are creamy and long-wearing with a opaque wash of colour.
Overall I really like these and they are definitely a luxe treat. I get that $50 for a lipstick is a lot of money, especially in a pandemic, but if you are looking to treat yourself then these would definitely fit the bill. The casing is also incredibly luxe with the matte black packaging and rose gold lid.
Compared to the other Rouge Pur Couture formulas out there I would say that this version is my new favourite and I expect to get a lot of wear out of them this fall (for when I actually go out and apply makeup).
Have you tried any of the new YSL Rouge Pur Couture Slim Glow Matte?

October is a lot of things… Full-fledged fall, Canadian Thanksgiving, Halloween, and breast cancer month.
Did you know that one in eight Canadian women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime? According to the Canadian Cancer Society, 25 per cent of new cancer cases is breast cancer and it accounts for 13 per cent of all cancer deaths in Canadian women.
Many brands and companies come out with special-edition breast cancer products or initiatives this time of the year with a certain amount of proceeds going towards research and awareness. One of these companies is the Estee Lauder Group of Companies, which has their breast cancer campaign to unite and inspire people globally in a mission to create a breast cancer-free world (they actually founded the pink ribbon breast cancer campaign). This program is their largest corporate social impact program and has raised more than $89 million since it was founded in 1992 to support global research, education, and medical services.
Although Estee Lauder is a beauty brand in itself, it is also the umbrella company for many beloved beauty brands. Companies like Aveda, MAC, Becca, Bobbi Brown, Bumble & Bumble, Glam Glow, La Mer, Smashbox, and so many others are all owned by Estee Lauder and are part of their Breast Cancer Campaign which they do every year.
This year, many items in the Estee Lauder Group of Companies brands have come out with special-edition breast cancer products where a proceeds of the sale goes towards the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF).
There are so many amazing products in the line up, but keep reading to hear about some of my top picks…
Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Multi-Recovery Complex
Estee Lauder occasionally comes out with special-edition bottles of their infamous Advanced Night Repair (C$130) and for this month they have released a metallic pink version with a breast cancer ribbon bracelet.
The serum, available in a 50 ml collectable bottle, will look so stunning on your nightstand and 20 per cent of the purchase price goes towards the BCRF (with a maximum donation of $304,000).
This serum is available as of September 1 and they will keep donating until June 30, 2021 or while supplies last. You can find it at Estee Lauder online or at counters nationwide.
Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion+
The Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion will forever hold a place in my heart as this was the first department store moisturizer I ever used. I don’t use it anymore (just based on the fact that I get so many moisturizers in nowadays), but it will forever have a special place in my heart.
Although there is no special packaging for this product this year (they have had some pink or ribbon-themed branding in the past), for every 125 ml of the Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion+ (C$37) that Clinique sells for the month of October they will donate $10 towards the BCRF.
If you use this moisturizer already, I recommend you pick up a bottle during this month so part of the purchase goes towards breast cancer research. If you’re going to get it eventually, why not purchase it now and help an amazing cause?
GlamGlow BubbleSheet Oxygenating Deep Cleanse Mask
This next one is a total win-win.
The GlamGlow Bubblesheet Oxygenating Deep Cleanse Mask is a bubble mask that is infused with charcoal to deep clean and remove makeup. Apply it to your face, watch it bubble up, then remove it to reveal glowing and purified skin.
Now the best part? 100 per cent of the proceeds from this C$9 mask goes towards the BCRF (up to $25,000). The donation campaign is from September 1, 2020 to June 30, 2021, or while supplies last, so there’s plenty of time to pick up a mask (or two or three!).
There are a few more items in their breast cancer campaign that goes towards breast cancer research as well. Check out their campaign website to learn more and let me know if you pick up any of the products.
