One of my favourite beauty products ever is the IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC Cream.
I’ve gone through a few of these CC creams and the formula is just one of the best out there. It gives you a nice coverage, it has incredible skincare benefits, and there’s an SPF in it. What more could you ask for?
When I saw that IT Cosmetics released a new foundation, the Your Skin But Better Foundation + Skincare (C$52), I was instantly intrigued on what this was. This foundation seems similar to the CC cream, but with a few differences.
The Your Skin But Better Foundation + Skincare is a medium, buildable coverage foundation that instantly perfects skin in that it minimizes pores and imperfections, while hydrating skin. Suitable for all skin types, it contains a number of ingredients to hydrate skin, including hyaluronic acid, aloe vera extract, vitamins E & B5, and hepes acid.
Now IT Cosmetics says that this foundation will actually improve your skin after just two weeks of wearing it. I don’t know about you, but I haven’t been wearing much foundation since I work at home due to the pandemic, so if I am wearing foundation, it might be once, maybe twice a week. If you are wearing this every day, IT Cosmetics says that your skin will look smoother, your skin tone will appear more even, and the texture will be more refined.
So how does this compare to the CC Cream? Well, both are amazing formulas that are good for your skin. They both take care of redness, imperfections, and discolouration. The foundation is a more lightweight watery texture, whereas the CC cream is a little heavier and creamier. The CC+ Cream also has a few different ingredients, namely collagen, peptides, niacin, and antioxidants (plus SPF, which is mostly why I wear it). In terms of coverage, the foundation can be customizable from a light to medium wear, depending on how much you apply. The CC+ Cream is a full-coverage foundation and is available in three different formulas (natural, matte, or radiant). Finally, if you couldn’t find a shade in their CC+ Cream, which only has 12 shades, then you might find your perfect match with the foundation, which has 40 shades.
So which one would I go with? You guys know I am a CC+ Cream ride or die, so I’ll always choose that product, especially since it’s your perfect campaign when spending time outside. This foundation was really nice as well and find it’s better for more everyday wear since it’s lighter on the face, both in terms of how it feels and the amount of coverage you get. Sometimes you just a little bit of coverage, nothing too heavy, and that’s where this comes in.
Truthfully, you really can’t go wrong with either product as they are both amazing. In fact, anything IT Cosmetics does is pretty incredible since they really tap into the scientific aspect of the beauty world. They work closely with plastic surgeons and dermatologists to create and test their products and it really shows in the final result.

Eyeshadow palettes… the most bang for your buck.
I love a good eyeshadow palette, and let’s be real, your skin and your eyes are really the only things we can play around with right now since masks have become mandatory.
I’ve been a fan of Pixi Beauty for a while now since the line is top quality at a good price point. They recently sent over some of their newest palettes, two of which are eyeshadow ones and the other two being cheek palettes (also a favourite beauty category of mine).
Starting first with the Eye Effects palette ($22 USD), these palettes (available in two different colour tones) contain nine shades that are complementary for a variety of different looks. The shadows contain ceramides to help restore the skin’s moisture barrier, as well as green tea for its antioxidant properties, and Vitamin E to nourish and protect.
These palettes are very pigmented and I really liked the colours they choose for both. One is a more warm-toned palette (Hazelnut Haze) and the other is filled with cool tones (Rosette Ray). For the price of each one, it’s a total bargain considering the amount of shadows you get in here and the quality is amazing, with each shade being pigmented, creamy, and blendable.
If you love the shadows, then you’ll love their Nuance Quartette palettes (C$22), which is a face palette filled with four shades each. Available in two different colourways, these palettes contain a blush, two highlighters, and a bronzer. Just like the shadows, they also contain ceramides, Vitamin E, and botanical extracts to hydrate skin.
I found these to be very creamy and pigmented, similar to the shadows, and I like how you can also use these on other areas of your face, like the eyes. Also, although there are two highlights in these, you can swap out the pink highlight for a glowing blush as well.
Overall, I think these palettes are great value and if you are on the hunt for a new eye or face palette, then I would look into these. I feel like there are a million eyeshadow palettes out there but when it comes to face palettes, there aren’t as many to choose from. At $22, these are a total steal and the quality is top notch.

If you guys follow me on Instagram, you know how much I love magnetic lashes.
I’ve tried a number of different kinds out there and truthfully, most of them have been fails. I feel like when it comes to magnetic lashes, when they first came out there was lot of room for improvement and then as the years went on they got better and better.
I love my TOK lashes, however, she recently stopped making magnetic lashes, so once the ones I have now wear out, I’ll need to find something new. Thankfully, Kiss Beauty released a magnetic liner and lashes just in time, and spoiler alert, they are amazing.
So when magnetic lashes first came out, they worked by having two lash strips with tiny magnets on the band that sandwiched your natural lashes. These can be tricky since depending on where the magnets are and how many there were, they could be difficult to apply in a manner that made them look natural. Then brands came out with an eyeliner which had magnetic properties in it so you only really needed the one band since it would attract to the lash. This is how the Kiss lashes work.
The Kiss Magnetic Eyeliner (C$15.99), sold separately and in lash kits, is a liquid liner with a brush that allows you to apply the product easily on the lash line. This contains biotin, which can help lashes grow longer, and is a smudge-proof formula. For the lashes to stick properly and stay, apply two to three coats of this liner.
As for the lashes themselves (C$9.99), there are five different styles, either sold separately or in a set with the liner. The styles range from more natural-looking to dramatic, which I love since it really gives you a range of different looks.
These lashes comes with five double-strength magnets, which is more than I have seen on other magnetic lashes. From what I used seen in the past, it’s usually either two or three magnets. The fact that these have five help the lashes stay on even better with the liner.
As for how well they stay, Kiss says these are wind resistant and having tried them, I did find them to be easy to work with and not budge at all. All you need to do it put the liner on and then place the lashes close to your lash line. That’s it! Also, because you don’t apply the glue on these lashes, and you wait for the liner to dry down completely, you’ll get way more wear out of these than your standard lash.
If you can’t tell already, I absolutely adore these and just like most other Kiss products I have tried, these are so impressive and worth all the hype. I will say that I found the liner to be a little messy and it kinda got all over my hands, but it was worth the mess since these apply like a dream and are so easy to just throw on and go. Best part is the price. For under $20 you get an amazing set of magnetic lashes that work better than those which are three times the price.
