Okay, so it’s no lie that I get a lot of skincare products and when it comes to reviewing skincare items, it’s usually not just a one and done kind of deal. With skincare, you really have to use the products to see how they work on your skin over time.
A while ago I received the Rodan + Fields Redefine line, which is their anti-aging regimen (you can read my post on it here), and although I didn’t use this religiously every morning and night, I used it probably 70 per cent of the time and actually finished the daytime cream prior to coming to Montreal. Overall, I really liked how the line made my skin look and feel and since I only got the set, which includes the exfoliating cleanser, toner, and day and night cream, I wished I got the opportunity to try out the eye cream and a serum to fully complete my routine.
Anyways, a couple months ago I got an email from Rodan + Fields saying that they actually reformulated the Redefine line, and since I enjoyed it the first time around, I was curious to see what was new.
The new formulation includes the advanced technologies and the brand’s unique Multi-Med Therapy approach, which addresses all major signs of aging in one regimen. In addition to a new formula, they have also added new products to the line, which allows for a more custom routine.
So what is this Multi-Med technology? Well, this basically works at the optimal time of day for the best results possible. During the day, the peptides and botanical extracts help to minimize the look of fine lines and wrinkles, and the peptides and grape and beet extracts visibly firm skin. At night, the PM products help to sculpt, define, and lift skin thanks to peptide technology and retinoid science.
So why did they decide to reformulate it? Well, the brand took into account feedback from users, as well as the skin needs of different genders, ages, and ethnicities and came up with lotion versions of their AM and PM products, as well as a new foaming cleanser. There are also new formulations of the original tried-and-true products and a couple other additions.
So wanna try this line out but don’t know where to start? Don’t worry, I have you covered.
Start first with one of the cleansers. The new reformulated Daily Clay Cleanser (C$53) is a two-in-one cleanser and mask to gently exfoliate and smooth skin, prepping it for the rest of your routine. This cleanser includes kaolin clay to gently exfoliate and soften skin, as well as ectoin, which is new and is a natural amino acid that helps to reduce the look of lines, wrinkles, and boost firmness. Finally, it also includes glyceryl glucoside, which is also new and is a sugar derivative to reduce the look of lines, wrinkles, and boost firmness.
Now if you are looking for something a little more gentle, or don’t want to use an exfoliating cleanser every time you wash your face, then try their new Redefine Daily Foaming Cleanser (C$53). This cleanser gently lathers up and leaves skin soft and supple, while removing daily impurities like dirt and oil. It contains alpha hydroxy acids to gently exfoliate skin for even-tone and texture, as well as ectoin and glyceryl glucoside, both of which reduce the look of lines, wrinkles, and boost firmness.
Next up, use the Pore Refining Toner (C$58), which is now entirely reformulated. This toner softens skin and minimizes the appearance of pores, as well as exfoliates to promote natural cell turnover. It includes Vitamin B3, which is niacinamide to visibly even the appearance of skin tone for a youthful glow, as well as deep sea water which minimizes the appearance of pores. It also includes fruit acids to promote natural cell turnover for smoother skin. I used the old version of this and really liked it as I found it was gentle on the skin and prepped it for the rest of the regimen. The new formula also comes in new packaging.
Now with the regimen (C$255) you get the clay cleanser, the toner, as well as the AM and PM moisturizer.
The Redefine Triple Defense Cream Broad Spectrum SPF 30 (C$104) is a medium-weight moisturizing cream that contains SPF 30 sunscreen. It nourishes skin and helps to improve the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and firms the skin while also protecting it against UV rays. The new formula contains RF3 Antioxidant Complex, which is a proprietary technology to the brand that defends against daily environmental aggressors for a more youthful appearance. It also has improved peptides to minimize the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and firms skin; grape extract to minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles; beet extract to provide immediate and longer lasting moisture to plump skin and smooth out fine lines and wrinkles.
For night time, try the Redefine Overnight Restorative Cream (C$104) which is a rich moisturizing cream that helps to improve the look of fine lines and deep wrinkles, as well as visibly lifting, sculpting, and defining facial contours for younger-looking skin. It also includes their exclusive peptide technology to sculpt and lift, while minimizing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, as well as retinoid science, which combines Backuchiol, which is a natural alternative to retinol. It also contains glycolic acid which helps get a more sculpted and smoother-looking appearance, as well as Vitamin B3, a new ingredient to this cream, which evens out the appearance of skin tone for a more youthful glow.
One of the new products I was most excited to try was the Redefine Multi-Function Eye Cream (C$82), which is a new and improved formula to make eyes appear younger. Apply this cream morning and night around the delicate eye area to visibly reduce lines, wrinkles, sagginess, and crow’s feet.
There are a few more products in this line as well that you can buy separate from the set they sell. The big thing about their products are that they are designed to be used together, so if you pick up one, it’s more beneficial to grab the full regimen for the best results.
Have you tried Rodan + Field’s Redefine regimen before?

With the world we are living in right now, buying essential items only is on the forefront of peoples’ minds. “Do I really need this?” is often something I ask myself often and for the most part, I don’t need it. But then again, I do love to treat myself every now and then wearing makeup really does help to boost my mood.
We may not be able to splurge on luxury makeup items, but trust me, there are so many drugstore brands out there that have incredible items and everything you could possibly need. One of the most notable drugstore brands is Revlon and as someone who has used the brand for years, I can tell you firsthand that their products rival their more expensive counterparts.
So if you are looking for a nice little treat for yourself, then I have some awesome recommendations, all of which are new and perfect to wear this holiday season.
First up, for the face is PhotoReady Prime Plus Makeup and Skincare Primer (C$16.97) which is available in three formulas. This primer adapts to your skin’s needs to create the perfect base to apply your makeup smoothly and flawlessly. The formula contains antioxidants and hydrating ingredients to nourish skin and keep it nice and smooth and supple. You can use them alone or underneath makeup as a primer.
There are three formulas to choose from: the Perfecting + Smoothing Primer, the Brightening + Skin Tone Evening Primer, and the Mattifying + Pore Reducing Primer.
The Perfecting + Smoothing Primer is aimed for those who want to diminish fine lines and uneven skin texture. It is a creamy, hydrating primer that helps to blur and smooth out the skin’s texture. It contains vitamin B5 and hyaluronic acid to hydrate, as well as pumpkin seed extract, which helps to increase firmness, among other things.
The Brightening + Skin Tone Evening Primer is for those who suffer from dull skin or discolouration. It’s a lightweight and brightening primer that will leave you with glowing skin, plus when used regularly it will help to get rid of discolouration. It contains lemon extract and optical pearls to brighten, as well as lactic acid to exfoliate, and vitamins E and C.
Finally, the Mattifying + Pore Reducing Primer is for those who have oily skin and suffer from large pores. Apply this primer to make skin more matte, as well as reduce the look of fine lines and pores. It contains spherical beads to give skin a soft-focus effect, as well as artichoke extract to reduce the look of pores, as well as salicylic acid and AHAs to exfoliate.
Although we have to keep the lower half of our faces covered, it’s still nice to dress up the top half every now and then. I love throwing on an eyeliner, mascara, and filling in my brows to help elevate my eye area.
Revlon has released a brand-new gel liner that is totally worth picking up since it glides on like a dream and will last all day. The ColorStay Micro Hyper Precision Gel Eyeliner (C$10.96) is the brand’s thinnest tip ever at 1.5 mm and is a gel liner that glides on the lids and delivers pigmented colour on the first run.
This liner is available in three shades, black, brown, and beige, and allows for a precise application since the liner is so thin. The formula is a waterproof one, meaning that it will stay on all day and not fade as you wear it.
The brand sent me the brown shade, which I love wearing since I have blue eyes and I find brown is more subtle and natural looking. I love a good black liner as well, but sometimes black can be too harsh; I find brown to work better for everyday wear.
This liner also features a smudger on the other end and you’ll never need to sharpen it since you twist it up and down, allowing you to use only what you need.
I actually really liked this liner and loved the thin tip, which allows you to create a variety of different liner looks easily. Eyeliners are one of those items that either work really well or not at all, and having tried products from all different price points, I do have to say that this one worked really well, better than more expensive versions out there.
Pair the liner with their new ColorStay Brow Creator (C$12.97), which is a waterproof and smudge-proof brow pencil that will last for up to 16 hours.
Available in 10 shades, this pencil also features a precise tip which allows you to draw on hair-like strokes, recreating brow hairs for a natural brow effect. The other end of the pencil has a spoolie brush to comb through and groom hairs while also blending and diffusing the colour. In addition to that, the pencil opens up to reveal a brow powder while goes on smoothly to shape and add fullness.
Just like the eyeliner, I found this brow pencil to glide on the skin and found that you didn’t need to use it with a heavy hand. It’s a creamy pencil that works well and with such a wide shade range, it will be easy to find your perfect colour.
Finally, I feel like when it comes to the beauty world, investing in a new lipstick is a real treat. Yes, you don’t really get to show them off and it’s kinda uncomfortable when they have a mask over them, but I still love applying a lipstick when I wear makeup.
The new Revlon Super Lustrous Glass Shine Lipstick (C$10.47) is kind of like a lipstick, balm, and lipgloss all in one. These high-shine lipsticks reflect light and give you shine that is reminiscent of a gloss.
Available in 25 shades, these lipsticks contain hyaluronic acid, aloe, and rose quartz for hydration, as well as more rejuvenated lips. They smooth out the appearance of lines while plumping your lips for a more full pout.
Revlon sent me three shades and I was instantly impressed with these. The formula is buttery smooth and feels so nourishing on the lips. They feel like a lip balm but deliver stunning colour and a bright shine. My favourite shade is Beaming Strawberry since it’s a baby pink that could easily be worn whenever I need some moisture on the lips. The shade range goes from nudes to reds, so even if you want to pick one up to wear around the house, grab a few of the lighter shades for wear anytime you need a little moisture and dazzle.
All of these products are incredibly affordable and also so impressive to work with. I get to try a lot of beauty products, from all different price ranges and considering how affordable these are, you really are getting great value for the quality of these products.
Will you be picking up any new Revlon products this season?

It’s no surprise how much I love the Charlotte Tilbury Legendary Lashes Vol. 2 mascara.
When I used that mascara for the first time it instantly struck me how nice and long my lashes looked. I get to try out a lot of mascaras and it’s come to the point where I compare any new mascara to that one since I love it so much.
So, when I saw that Charlotte Tilbury came out with a new mascara, I needed to get my lashes on it.
The Pillow Talk Push Up Lashes Volumizing and Lengthening mascara (C$34) is the brand’s newest addition to their iconic Pillow Talk collection. What makes this mascara unique is the brush, which is long and thin, allowing you to get to the root of the lashes and literally push them up. One side is flat to coat the lashes and the other side, which features bristles, combs through so each individual lash is coated from root to tip.
The mascara formula itself features a lash-lifting polymer to lift and hold lashes, as well as carnauba wax and microcrystalline wax to add body and texture, giving you more voluminous and longer lashes. Lastly, it features kerestore to condition lashes and make them look thicker.
So how does this compare to Legendary Lashes? I think I still prefer Legendary Lashes, however, I would love to use these together since I love the brush on this one and the fact that it allows you to coat the lash from root to tip. I think I would go in with Legendary Lashes first and then comb through and push them up with Pillow Talk Push Up.
With that being said, this mascara really does leave you with beautiful and long lashes. I do think that my eyes stood out thanks to how my lashes looked. They were longer, more defined, and definitely more voluminous.
