When it comes to beauty lines that I absolutely love, Fenty Beauty ranks highly.
Out of everything I have tried from Fenty, probably around 98 per cent of it I have loved. Because of that, whenever they release new products, I always want to give it a try.
Due to COVID and the use of excessive mask wearing, I usually wouldn’t get this excited about trying out new lip products since the only lip product I basically use anymore is just lip balm. I absolutely love Fenty’s original Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer lip glosses, so when I saw they released a new cream formula, I needed to try them.
The Gloss Bomb Color Drip Lip Cream (C$25) are the brand’s Gloss Bomb formula, but now with creamy colour and shine. These glosses make lips look smoother, shinier, and larger. These apply on the lips with buildable colour and don’t make lips feel sticky. They also feature a peach vanilla fragrance which is really pleasant.
I got two shades from the range, Mauve Wives, a light pink, and Fenty Glow, a universal rose nude (which Fenty says is Rihanna’s fave shade). Although the five colours look a little darker in the bottles, these two applied really beautifully and a little lighter than they look in the packaging.
The brush on these feature the same oversized brush as the original Gloss Bomb, which makes it super simple to apply the colour on your lips. Overall, I really like these and think they are so stunning when applied. The formula is really comfortable and the colour payoff is stunning. I’m not usually a big gloss girl since I hate the feeling of anything sticking on the gloss (such as hair on a windy day), but I don’t mind these since the texture is so soft and moisturizing.
If a sparkling gloss is more your jam, then they do have their original Gloss Bomb available in other shades as well, which I would also love to get my lips on.
Have you tried Fenty Beauty’s Gloss Bombs?

When it comes to trying out new foundations, something that I’ve been looking for a lot more recently has been if they include SPF in their formula.
For the past few years I have been very religious about applying SPF on my face in the morning, every morning. Now that I’m in my 30’s it was very important to apply this daily since sun damage can speed up the aging process (it’s really important to apply in the morning at any age really). I put a lot of time and effort into applying these expensive products morning and night, so it makes total sense that I would want to protect my investment, right?
I recently took part in Estee Lauder’s virtual spring masterclass earlier this week where they sent along a makeup case of bestselling items, including their newest foundation, the Futurist Hydra Rescue Moisturizing Makeup SPF 45 (C$57). This foundation, available in 28 shades, is a buildable medium- to full-coverage foundation that delivers a 12-hour radiant glow, a lightweight texture, and SPF 45.
Now everyone and their mom raves about the brand’s Double Wear foundation, which I’ve never tried but totally believe the hype about. Because of that, my expectations were high for this one, and spoiler alert, it didn’t disappoint.
This foundation is powered with high-performance Estee Lauder skincare, including their IonCharged Water, plus probiotic technology and chia seed extract. The brand says that it’s clinically tested to soothe visible redness and irritation, protect against pollution, and hydrate all day.
Now these are some big claims, so naturally I was very excited to give it a go and let me tell you, it did not disappoint.
I got the shade 1W2 Sand, which is a smidge too dark for me, but nothing that’s super noticeable (plus will be perfect for my tanned skin this summer). The formula is on the thinner side, but you don’t need a ton of it since it blends out nicely and covers a lot of area with one pump. I immediately noticed how lightweight the texture was, as well as how hydrating it is.
I do have to say that considering how thin the formula is it does do a great job of giving you nice coverage. My face instantly looked more radiant and glowing and the wear lasted for a long time, whereas usually my face starts to look a little patchy after five hours or so.
I paired the foundation with the new Futurist Aqua Brilliance Watery Glow Primer (C$49), which is the perfect product to match with the foundation.
This primer is aimed to hydrate skin, strengthen the skin’s barrier to lock in moisturize and help protect against environmental stressors, and nourish skin.
When I applied this I immediately noticed how moisturizing and cooling this felt on my skin. The texture is a gel-cream which bursts into micro-size water droplets and smooths skin for the rest of your makeup application. It also contains the brand’s IonCharged Water Complex, a triple moisture complex, including two types of hyaluronic acid and glycerin, and is infused with naturally derived ingredients.
Since Estee Lauder is known for their skincare, I love how they incorporated these elements into these two new beauty products. Like I said, I haven’t tried Double Wear, but after trying these items, I don’t think I need to since they work so well, plus hydrated my skin and give me sun protection with the added SPF 45.
Will you be trying out Estee Lauder’s newest face products?

Even though I don’t wear a ton of lipstick anymore, I still get really excited when I get some new ones.
i recently got in the cutest makeup bag filled with some new lipsticks from Avon. I’m not really that picky when it comes to lipstick formulas, but something about their new lipstick lines really intrigued me.
Up first is the FMG Cashmere Essence Lipcream (C$32), which comes in 10 shades and is an anti-aging lipstick that mixes colour with care to give you soft and stunning lips. This lipstick features an inner core that gives you anti-aging hydration and protection with an outer core that drenches lips in colour.
These lipsticks glide on the lips and are very creamy and hydrating. They contain anti-aging ingredients, including a bio-retinol complex, ginseng cell extract, antioxidant meadow foam seed oil, and vitamin E.
Avon sent me two shades to try, Cozy Rosy, a pretty baby pink, and Cheeky Red, which is a bright red. These actually gave off more pigment than I thought they would and they felt really nice and creamy on the lips.
Another new lipstick release from Avon is the FMG Glimmer Satin Lipstick (C$16), which comes in 20 shades and is a creamy, lightweight lipstick that glides on the lips and hydrates them.
These lipsticks are infused with pomegranate extract to provide antioxidant benefits. The finish on these is a satin and they give you a medium coverage which is buildable to a full.
Avon sent me three shades from this line and I really love the colour choices. There is everything from a range of nudes to pinks to red to purples and more. These are very wearable and i was struck by how creamy these are, which was noticeable as soon as I applied them.
I really love both lipsticks and think that there is a time and place for them both. The FMG Glimmer Satin Lipsticks are a great everyday lipstick and the price point is awesome as well. As for the FMG Cashmere Essence Lipcreams, I love the anti-aging benefits that are in this lipstick and love the amount of colour that coats your lips.
Although we may not wear lipsticks much anymore, summer is coming up and I plan on spending lots of time outside, which means that I can rock some of these bold and fun colours, without the mask transfer.
Have you picked up any of Avon’s new lipsticks?
