I’m very lucky that I get to try out so many different skincare lines. With that being said, there are so many other brands I would love to get my skin on and one of those is definitely Kate Somerville.
This past Friday I was very excited to get a surprise package from the brand with her DeliKate line. This line is aimed for stressed skin that it also irritated and tight. It gives you instant and lasting relief and contains three products that help to hydrate and relieve skin.
The line contains ceramides, omegas, peptides, and cucumber seed oil that work together to alleviate itching, dryness, and tightness. After regular use you will notice a healthier skin barrier.
Start first with the DeliKate Soothing Cleanser (C$53), which is a gentle and soothing cleanser that is formulated with three essential ceramides. This cleanser is nice and hydrating and won’t dry out skin. It also contains ginger root extract to reduce redness, as well as Tasmannia Lanceolata Fruit Extract to calm skin.
Next up, go in with the DeliKate Recovery Serum (C$117), which is a lightweight serum that absorbs quickly into the skin and is perfect for sensitive skin, as well as normal and dry skin. It helps with redness and dryness and contains a peptide complex and ceramides, as well as cucumber seed oil to calm and soothe skin.
With regular use, this serum will leave your skin hydrated and much softer.
Finally, to complete the routine, apply the DeliKate Recovery Cream (C$93), which is great for calming skin and redness, thanks to the soothing peptides and three essential ceramides. This cream is also good for relieving tightness and is designed for normal and dry skin.
This cream has a balm light texture but is very lightweight on the skin and is great for relieving redness, tightness, irritation, and protects the skin’s protective barrier.
When used together this line will help to alleviate a number of skin concerns and if you have irritation or redness, then I would definitely look into picking this up. There is a kit that Kate Somerville offers that has all three products in it for $140 USD. Sephora Canada isn’t offering it at the moment but if you are at the United States then you can pick it up directly from the Kate Somerville site.

I love a good aesthetic brand.
I always say I’m a sucker for packaging. When it comes to choosing a book or even a bottle of wine, if it catches my eye, then you better believe it’s a selling feature for me.
As a lover for pink and aesthetic packaging, as soon as I saw Monday Haircare, I was instantly sold. You may have seen their bottles all over your Instagram feed, and if you know what I’m talking about, you probably get the hype.
Monday Haircare is from New Zealand and in Canada you can find it Shoppers Drug Mart and Walmart Canada. Because of that it’s relatively affordable, which is part of the brand’s whole image. They want to deliver luxury haircare but at reasonable and attainable prices. In addition to that, their formulas are free of SLS and parabens, and are cruelty-free and vegan. Their bottles, which look stunning displayed in your shower, are also 100 per cent recyclable.
The brand has four different lines, Volume (for thin or fine hair), Smooth (curly, coily, or frizzy hair), Moisture (dry and coarse hair), and Gentle (for hair/scalp that needs some extra loving). The brand recently sent me their PR box which contained their Moisture line, as well as some fun little goodies, to try out.
Their bottles come in large 354 ml (C$7.47) and 796 ml (C$14.97) sizes, so these will definitely last you a while. They also have a pump top so you don’t have to mess around with the lids (this is a major pet peeve of mine on shampoo and conditioner since I find I always drop the lid in the shower in the rush of putting it back on and making sure the product doesn’t spill out of my hands).
The Moisture line contains coconut oil in them, which is nourishing for both hair and scalp, as well as hydrolyzed rice protein, which is known to promote collagen within the scalp and reinforce hair strands to add strength.
First impressions were good on this one but I wouldn’t say my hair was any more soft than the other haircare lines I use. I also prefer using a purple or blonde shampoo/conditioner as well, but these are good to have handy in my shower as well. Plus, I’m not gonna lie, I think I’ll keep them in there solely based on the fact that they just look so darn good in there.

Two of my must-have summer skincare products? Definitely a good facial spray and sunscreen!
I have talked about Tula’s Protect + Glow Daily Sunscreen a lot on here and it truly is one of my favourite sunscreens since it’s so lightweight, doesn’t feel like sunscreen (or smell like it). It also helps nourish your skin and provide you with bluelight protection. I love it so much that when I got a package from Tula in the mail last week and it contained a brand new sunscreen, I was hesitant to even try it.
But let me tell you, I’m glad I did.
The Tula Mineral Magic Mineral Sunscreen Fluid Broad Spectrum SPF 30 ($38 USD) is brand new and is a different texture than my beloved Protect + Glow. This sunscreen is a weightless mineral sunscreen that gives you amazing sun coverage without a greasy feel. This is the key part in this product and to be honest, the biggest difference I have found. The Protect + Glow is a gel consistency, so therefore it can have a more greasy feel, whereas this one dries down into the skin more like a traditional facial sunscreen would.
Like its predecessor (which is also still available), the Mineral Magic also protects you against blue light damage and pollution, and helps to brighten and even out skin tone. This one also helps with oil throughout the day.
The formula contains the Tula’s Complex, which is a Super6 blend of prebiotics and probiotic extracts that help to improve skin smoothness and maintain skin balance. It also contains peach to brighten and even out skin tone; red algae to provide oil control and antioxidant protection; and wild butterfly ginger to help protect your skin against the damaging effects of bluelight and pollution.
So which Tula sunscreen is the right one for you? Honestly, this is a toughie since I love the Protect + Glow so much. I have been really enjoying this one as well and appreciate the fact that it’s a mineral formula and won’t give your skin a shiny look to it. If you have oily skin, you might not like their original sunscreen since it does give you a glowing finish, and that’s where this one would come in handy since it’s more of a matte finish.
Also new to Tula is another spray, the Antioxidant Water Purifying Toner Face Mist ($36 USD). This mist is a toner that hydrates and purifies skin while protecting it against bluelight protection and feeding antioxidants to your skin.
Tula also has another spray as well but this one acts more like a toner (but is really a jack of all trades). Spray this on to purify and tone skin, soothe and hydrate, provide protection against pollution and bluelight, and feed antioxidants in your skin.
It contains the brand’s Tula Complex; witch hazel and wild mint leaf to purify and tone skin; hyaluronic acid to hydrate; green tea and wild butterfly ginger to protect skin against aggressors; and cucumber water and holy basil to soothe and calm the look of irritation.
So what’s the difference between this one and the Signature Glow Spray? Well the Signature Glow is designed to help with brightening dull-looking skin, as well as hydrating it. It contains a lot of the same ingredients as the new one, but Antioxidant Water is a jack of all trades. You can use it as a toner, as a refresher, or just whenever you want a little pep in your day. Both are good, but if you don’t use a toner already, then this would be a great option since you just spray it on. I also want to add that the bottle itself on this is awesome as the product just mists lightly on your face. It’s very refreshing!
Both of these items are ones that Tula already have in their collection but I find they do help with providing options for more specialized skincare needs. As always, if you want to give these a try (or any Tula product), use code SHAYNA for 15% off your order (brings the sunscreen down to $32.30 and the spray to $30.60).
