I’ve always had a soft spot for Laura Mercier.
One of the first luxury foundations I ever purchased was the Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation and it still remains one of my favourites. I haven’t used it in a number of years since I have so many foundations now, but it’s forever held a spot near and dear in my heart.
Because of this, whenever the brand releases a new foundation I always get so excited to try it out.
Launched earlier this year, Laura Mercier came out with the Flawless Lumiere Radiance Perfecting Foundation (C$60), which is a liquid foundation that promises up to 15 hours of hydration and weightless medium-to-full coverage.
Available in 30 shades, this foundation leaves you with a glowy finish that covers up any imperfections and blemishes, leaving your skin looking flawless. The formula contains Super Crystal Clear Pearl, which is a light-reflecting effect, as well as silver ear mushroom extract to diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and vitamin C to reveal brighter, calmer, and more even-toned skin.
I received the shade Bisque, which was also the colour I used in Silk Creme and it fits my summer skin nicely. I love it so much that I actually packed it for New York as it leaves my skin looking radiant and provides a smooth canvas for the rest of my makeup. If you love Silk Creme, then I would definitely look into this one as well. The texture is very lightweight, it doesn’t feel heavy, and your skin feels like it can breathe. All major wins if you ask me.
If I had to choose between this one and Silk Creme, I would probably go with her new one since from what I can remember of Silk Creme, Flawless Lumiere is more lightweight on the skin and gives you a similar finish. I also want to note that there are more shade options in the Flawless Lumiere Radiance Perfecting Foundation than Silk Creme, so if you had trouble matching your skin to a certain colour, then this one is definitely the way to go.

What’s pink, totally Instagrammable, and filled with rosé? Why Rosé Wine Mansion of course!
When I was looking up things I wanted to see and check out in NYC prior to me coming here I happened to stumble across Rosé Wine Mansion and I instantly put it on the list. I always wanted to do the Museum of Ice Cream but I would either just miss it when I visited a city it was in or it was completely sold out. If you are familiar with the Museum of Ice Cream then you’ll absolutely love Rosé Wine Mansion since it’s a similar idea but with rosé! This is the second year that it’s been put on and it’s an Instagrammer and rosé lovers dream!
The spot is made up of a number of different rooms, which as you go through teach you about the science and history of rosé. Each room is themed and designed in the most eye-catching and beautiful themes and as you walk through it they offer you tastings of rosé as well.
As much as I love rosé I was there mostly for the photo ops and boy, do they deliver. From bright lights to pink walls to a ball pit, giant birthday cake, and more, there are so many opportunities to snap some great pics. If that’s not your thing, the tastings were a nice touch and the people pouring the wine tell you various tidbits about the pink stuff throughout.
We went to the 9 p.m. time slot (make sure to grab tickets online) and thankfully there wasn’t a lot of people so we didn’t have to wait to take photos. I’m not sure how many tickets they allot to each time slot, but if you go during the day before 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday (and Friday before 4:30 p.m.) they offer a Happy Hour pricing for $35 (tickets are regular $45). In total, I would say it took us about an hour to get through, but if it’s busy it would probably take a little longer waiting to get all the cute pics.
In addition to the tastings and cute photo locations, they also give you a branded Rosé Mansion GoVino wine glass and a collectable enamel pin to take home. At the very end there is a space called RoséLand which has more Instagrammable spaces and the option to buy food and wine (including the wine they gave you tastings of).
Rosé Wine Mansion is on until the end of September, so if you’re making a trip to the city, I highly recommend checking it out. I went for the Instagrammable cute spaces but it was definitely more than that and would check it out if you’re into taking cute pics or not.
The installation is located at 11 W 32nd Street, which is a few blocks away from Time’s Square, so if you’re having a full tourist day, definitely pop on by… and pop a few bottles of course too ;).
Cheers!

One of my favourite liquid lipsticks is the Maybelline SuperStay Matte Ink liquid lipsticks.
Maybe it’s the crazy colour pigmentation, or the shade range, or even the fact that these stay on your lips like crazy, but for the price point, you really can’t beat this product.
I’ve chatted about these before on here but recently the brand has come out with some new shades in the colour inspired by the hustle and bustle of New York City. Since I’m literally in NYC right now, I’ve been saving this post (okay, that and the fact that these are hard to swatch since they are so hard to remove) to chat about the colours since I wanted to make the post a little more relevant to my real life.
In case you aren’t familiar with the range yet, the Maybelline SuperStay Matte Ink liquid lipsticks are a line of matte lipsticks in a variety of super saturated shades. The colour lasts forever on the lips (Maybelline says 16 hours, but seriously aside from minimal touch ups these will not budge all day) and features a unique arrow applicator that allows you to first line your lips and then fill them in.
There are 10 new shades in the City Edition collection that are all bold colours, which coming from someone who loves pinks and nudes, was a little outside my comfort zone for everyday wear, but if I’m looking for something bold, then this is it. From pinks to reds to burgundies to even a navy blue, there is something for everyone in here.
I’ve reviewed these in the past so there isn’t really anything that new to report on them. I think the shade expansion brings some new colours to the line that really help to diversify the line. Again, this is one of my favourite liquid lipsticks, so any time that they release new colours I’m instantly intrigued in what’s new and different.
If you are a fan of bold colours, then I would definitely look into this line. Truthfully, bold colours typically put me off since they are such high maintenance. With this product though these will not budge (you may experience some wear on the inner lip area) and they’ll last all day long, no matter if you’re in the city that never sleeps or not.
