A true classic: Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation
When it comes to foundations, one of the most iconic ones there is is Estee Lauder’s Double Wear (C$54)
This foundation, which is the brand’s number-one foundation worldwide, is a matte foundation that gives you flawless skin with a 24-hour wear. This foundation is oil free and also helps to keep oil in check all day long, as well as being sweat, heat, and humidity-resistant and waterproof.
Available in a staggering 56 shades, this liquid foundation suits a wide range of different skin tones and helps to even out the skin and cover up imperfections thanks to its buildable, medium-to-full coverage effect.
Now as much as I love my foundations, this year was the first year that I have tried this one out. As the number-one selling foundation in Canada, I have been curious about this one for a long time since everyone always raves about it. Estee Lauder actually sent me a shade of this earlier this year, however, the colour I chose was a tad too light for my summer tanned skin, so I didn’t get the chance to use it until recently..
I got shade 1N0 Porcelain, very light with neutral undertone, which is great for my paler fall/winter skin. This foundation goes on smoothly and settles down really nice as well. I would definitely say it is a buildable coverage, which is nice since I don’t like anything too heavy, but enough coverage so my skin looks flawless.
As for the wear, I found it held up really nicely throughout the day and did settle or fade away at all. I also found it comfortable on the skin and not drying; honestly it was like I wasn’t even wearing anything on my skin.
I’m looking forward to wearing this more throughout the season, but as you can see in the swatches above, the coverage is impeccable and it really does leave you with a flawless effect. At $56, it is definitely on the higher-end pricing, but I think there is a reason why it is Canada’s number-one selling foundation.
