Wash it off: Avon Wash-Off Waterproof mascara
I’ve never been a fan of waterproof mascara.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s great to have in your makeup collection for those days where it’s just way too hot out/you want to look cute at the gym/you’re heading to the beach or pool. Here’s the thing though, it’s super tough to get off. Too tough in fact that, to me, it’s not even worth putting on.
When I got in Avon’s new Wash-Off Waterproof mascara I was instantly intrigued. Wash-off waterproof? That sounds like an oxymoron to me. If it’s truly waterproof you wouldn’t be able to get it off. Well folks, it stays on and it comes off in a breeze.
This mascara (C$10) features a classic tapered brush which thickens and separate lashes leaving them in place no matter what you’re doing. Although it is waterproof, you can easily remove with it your favourite makeup remover or soap and water. It’s hypoallergenic, finer free and fragrance free and promises not to smudge or flake on you.
I’ve put it to the test on numerous occasions and when used alone I found it didn’t really do much for my lashes. I do like using it layered over a favourite mascara to add that waterproof effect to a mascara that gives me knock-out lashes. It might smudge a tiny bit, but it does a great job compared to its non-waterproof counterparts.
If you’re looking for something to add to your beach bag this season, I would definitely check this mascara out from Avon. You’ll have to order it through your Avon sales rep, but for $10 it’s a worth a shot to try out.
