Full of it: Tarte Cosmetics Big Ego mascara
If you were to ask me my top mascara brands for higher-end beauty, it would be Too Faced and Tarte.
I love Tarte’s Lights, Camera, Lashes! mascara since it gives you stunning lashes in a pinch. The brush coats every single lash for a fringe that will totally be noticeable and complement just about any eye look. I love it so much that when I saw they came out with a new mascara, I totally needed to get my hands (and lashes) on it.
Big Ego (C$30) came out a few months ago and comes housed in the most beautiful eye-catching hot pink container. This mascara, at first glance, opens up to a brush that looks identical to Too Faced’s Better Than Sex mascara, which isn’t too shocking since it seems that so many brands are coming out with dupes nowadays.
Big Ego is a vegan mascara that is plant powered thanks to ingredients like babassu to nourish and condition lashes. The brush is one of those hourglass-shaped brushes which is so popular right now and helps to build volume from root to tip. The formula is buildable and doesn’t clump on the lashes, leaving them looking long, soft, and feathered.
I couldn’t wait to try out this bad boy on my lashes when I got it in. I really love the brush on it and find that it does give my lashes some volume and makes them noticeable. I would say though that it doesn’t perform the same as Better Than Sex, which I get a more show-stopping lash look from. I think it does a good job, but if I were to choose between this one and Lights, Camera, Lashes! I think I would still go with LCL as my mascara of choice.
With that being said, I do like this mascara, but I still prefer their original one, as well as Too Faced’s Better Than Sex. I absolutely adore the packaging on this though. The hot pink tube makes it super easy to spot in my makeup bag and I always get so excited to bust this out.
