I Scream, you scream: Elizabeth Arden Gelato Crush collection

When I heard the name of Elizabeth Arden’s new collection, I just had to try some items out.

The Gelato Crush collection (see, how cute is that name?!) allows you to treat ‘yo self without the calories. Consisting of lip colours, lip liners, and cheek tints, this collection is all about comfortable colour in creamy gel formulas.

First up is the Plush Up Lip Gelato (C$33), which is available in 18 new shades. The tube on these are kinda cool as you push up the Elizabeth Arden logo to unleash the product within. I received the colour Bare Kiss which looks like a pink taupe colour in the tube, however, the colour goes on as a sheer nude shade, which is totally up my alley, so I was quite happy with the colour.

The formula is also cool with these, literally. Once you swipe on the colour, it leaves you with a cooling sensation and a minty scent.  It contains peptides and hyaluronic acid, which helps to smooth and condition the lips while making them look fuller. In addition, it also contains shea butter, vitamin A, E, and Rosemary extract, and gellified film formers to create a cushion-like texture, while still locking in moisture.

Pair the lipstick with the Plump Up Lip Liner (C$27), which comes in eight different shades. This smooth, creamy, formula shapes and defines lips. It contains the liner on one end and a blender on the other to help with blending and filling in the lips. I got the colour Vintage Pink which paired perfectly with the Bare Kiss lipstick. The liner was a touch darker than the lipstick shade, however, the pair together helped to define and make my lips look plumper.

Finally, if you’re a blush gal, the Cool Glow Cheek Tint (C$34) is a bouncy, weightless, water-based gel blush which is designed to give you a natural-looking flush. It’s very cooling on contact and blends easily into the skin to create a healthy-looking glow. It has a netted pot delivery system, which seems odd at first glance, but it’s designed so you get the perfect amount of product with each application.

There are four shades to choose from, I received the colour Berry Rush, which looks dark in the pan, however, it goes on quite sheer. I don’t usually use a liquid blush since I like using a powder contour (the two textures together end up making my face look patchy), but a cream blush is very suitable for the summer months when you don’t want to wear a lot of makeup on your face.

Overall, I’m actually really digging this collection, especially the Plush Up Lip Gelato, since it gives you really nice colour and that minty texture is very soothing on the lips. The lip liner glided on nicely and it wasn’t too over-the-top pigmented either.  There are so many colours to choose from, so next time you’re in Hudson’s Bay, London Drugs, or Shoppers Drug Mart, pop by the Elizabeth Arden counter and swatch some of the shades.

Have you tried any items from the Gelato Crush collection?

Please note, I was sent this product from PR. All opinions are my own.
