‘Shop that skin! Benefit Cosmetics The POREfessional Pore Minimizing Makeup
Pores. Although they’re small they seem to be a big issue for a lot of people.
Although I don’t really suffer from big pores, a lot of people tend to say that that seems to be a problem area. I would assume that we all want smooth skin, something that large pores can totally put a damper on. Lucky for us ladies and gents, there are so many brands out there that have come up with products to minimize the look of pores or blur them for an airbrushed look (without the use of an app!).
Benefit Cosmetics introduced their fan-fave The POREfessional primer a few years ago, which can be applied as is or under your foundation to help blur the look of pores. New to the collection is the Pore Minimizing Makeup, which is face makeup to help minimize the appearance of those suckers on your face.
Available in five shades, from light to dark, this product targets pores through the use of a weightless long-wear liquid. The formula, which contains mushroom extract (known to minimize the appearance of pores) is quite thin, meaning that pores will be covered without settling into them or clogging them. Your face seems visibly smoother and instantly mattifies and controls excess surface oil for eight hours.
The product comes in a little bottle with a sponge that is detachable from the bottom. Just squirt a few drops onto the sponge and pat and blend onto your face. Add a little more to build coverage.
I was a bit confused by the product when I first got it. Is it a primer? Is it a foundation? Well, it’s kinda both. I still use a primer and then apply this over top, focusing the product on my cheeks and nose, then I would apply my foundation and the rest of my makeup as I usually would. It just adds that extra layer of protection against the look of pores. Benefit also says you can apply this over your foundation as well for extra-smooth skin.
Like I said, I don’t really have a problem with my pores. Sure, I have them, but they don’t annoy me like they do for other people. With that being said, I actually really like this product. I like the use of the sponge, which provides a targeted application and blends the product out really well.
In the above photos, there isn’t really much difference between the before and after when zoomed in. I also posted a photo of me wearing just the pore minimizing makeup and my face looks flawless. The last photo is the complete makeup look, and no, I didn’t airbrush my skin or anything.
Even though large pores isn’t really an issue for me, I do find myself reaching for this product every morning to apply underneath my foundation. I like how it provides that extra layer of coverage, and really, once you apply your foundation and some powder, those little craters won’t even by noticeable!
Have you tried Benefit’s new The POREfessional Pore Minimizing Makeup? What were your thoughts?
Please note, product sent by PR, all opinions are my own.
