Big and bold: Make Up For Ever Pro Sculpting Brow Palette

mufe-title

Bold brows and big lips, two trends from 2016 that are still so hot. There are so many brow products on the market right now since eyebrows are popular. From pencils to gels to even microblading, brows are have the front-row seat on the face and it doesn’t seem like they are going anywhere any time soon.

Although they already have a plethora of brow products, Make Up For Ever’s Pro Sculpting Brow Palette is an all-in-one palette that you have to have in your collection. Why? Cause it’s all you need for your brows. This palette, available in two shades, Harmony 1 (blonde to dark brown) and Harmony 2 (brown to black), retails for C$52 and contains five products, three brow powders, a wax, and a cream to powder highlight.

I received the shade Harmony 1, the lighter of the two, and since I have pretty dark brows, I was a little worried that this would be too light for me. Since you typically want to go with something lighter than your brow colour (to create a shadow effect), the darkest shade in here actually worked great with my brows.

The powders work dry or wet, but I’ve only used them dry so far. This little guy (about the length of my palm) also contains a mini brush with a spoolie on one end and an angled brush on the other.  I have been using the brush in here but find that the angled end is quite stiff so it deposits the colour quite light on my brow.

Previously I’ve been using the Whitening Lightening brow kit with an IT Cosmetics brow brush and find that that palette is quite softer to work with in terms of texture. The MUFE one is great too though since you can build up the colour (I would rather go too light than too heavy and fix it).

As for the wax and highlight, I do apply the wax with my fingers, however, I don’t usually use wax unless I’m doing full glam. Same with the highlight. It goes on quite fair and I don’t particularly find it too pigmented.

Overall I really like this palette because it’s really all you need for your brows. The small size makes it easy to throw in your travel bag or purse. I wish the powder would be a little more pigmented and the brush a little softer, but other than that, this brow palette is seriously bomb.

Since big lips were also a huge trend last year, I paired my groomed brows with some sculpted lips, courtesy of the Make Up For Ever High Precision Lip Pencil.

I’m wearing the colour 23 in the photos above, Tender Pink, but there are 12 shades available to choose from.  These pencils glide on the lips, which is awesome since I find lip liners in general to be quite dry, not creamy (aside from the Kylie ones). These pencils give you precise definition and blend quite nicely into the lips, working wonderfully with a similar-toned lipstick.

I’m so excited to see what 2017 has in store for beauty trends. What were your favourite trends from 2016?
