Okay, so I always say that my holy grail beauty item is lip balm, and when it comes to a particular kind, it’s a toss up between Rosebud Salve and Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask.
I’ve been using both products for years now and they both have cult status for a reason. Alas though, we aren’t here today to chat about Rosebud Salve, but to talk about Laneige, which has their famous Lip Sleeping Mask in a few of their sets this season.
Now in case you aren’t familiar with Laneige, it’s a Korean skincare brand that is perfect if you suffer from dry skin. They are known for infusing moisture in your skin, and as someone who has used their line for years, this stuff really works.
First up is their Water Wonderland set (C$50, on sale for C$39 right now!), which has a C$68 value. This set includes four products, one of which is full size, and all of them are aimed to bring some major hydration to your skin overnight.
Perfect for normal, dry, combination, and oily skin, these products are designed to combat dryness, dullness, and uneven texture. You get a full size of the Water Sleeping Mask (normally retails for C$33), which is an intense nighttime gel moisturizer formulated to help you wake up with hydrated skin. Other products include a 30 ml of the Cream Skin Mist (which I reviewed recently), a 10 ml of the Water Bank Moisture Cream (also a favourite, especially for dry, cold winters), and a mini (8g) of the Lip Sleeping Mask (which, since a little goes a long way, this will last you for a few months).
Use the Water Bank Moisture Cream for days, followed by the Cream Skin Mist for some added hydration whenever you need a little boost. For night, apply the Water Sleeping Mask to brighten and hydrate skin overnight. Finally, slather on the Lip Sleeping Mask for soft, supple lips.
I love this set and think the value is amazing for what you get (especially since it’s on sale right now too!). Even if you aren’t gifting it, it would be worthwhile to pick up if you are interested in trying out any of these Laneige products.
For those who need a lip balm on them at all times (hi, hello, me!), then the Lip Daydreams set is perfect. This guy looks like it is sold out on Sephora online, but check your local store to see if they still have it (if your store is still open).
This set includes both of their best-selling lip balms. For the day, slather on the Lip Glowy Balm in Berry, which is formulated with murumuru and shea butters for the softest and most nourished lips (with a hint of shine!). This one comes in a tube with an angled applicator so you don’t have to use your fingers (which is really my only qualm with the Lip Sleeping Mask since it always gets under my nails).
Also included in this set is a mini of their Lip Sleeping Mask in Sweet Candy. This one is formulated with a blend of berries and the comforting texture helps to hydrate and nourish lips as you sleep.
Now like I said, I have both of these and love them. I have the peach flavour in the Lip Glowy Balm, which I keep at my desk for quick touch-ups whenever I need it. Here in Montreal I actually have this exact Lip Sleeping Mask, which they also offered up last year in one of their sets. The scent is really pleasant and I love the pink packaging (I’m a sucker for anything pink).
Like I said, if you can still find this set kicking around, I would definitely grab it. Maybe grab two if you can since you’ll want to keep this one for yourself.
Laneige has a few other goodies available as part of their holiday line up, but I really love these two since I find them to contain items that I use often. I’ve been using Laneige for years now and found it does wonders on both my lips and skin. If you haven’t had a chance to try it yet, now is the perfect chance to snatch up some items at a great price.
Are any Laneige items on your wish list?

When it comes to gifts, an easy one will always be bath and body items.
I’ll be covering a few different bath and body focused brands in the coming weeks, but one that I absolutely love – and is a little more bougie than the rest – is L’Occitane.
I’ve received L’Occitane holiday items in the past and always found them to be great gifts since it’s a French brand, which automatically makes it fancier, and their stuff is very luxurious. Some items come with a higher price tag, but there are also a lot of things that can be very affordable, which makes it perfect to give as stocking stuffers or smaller gifts.
So, if you are wanting to gift some L’Occitane love but don’t know where to start? Well, keep reading…
Signature Advent Calendar
Okay, so I’m a little late with this one since it’s now December 4, but i guess technically you don’t need to start an advent calendar on December 1.
Although L’Occitane has a variety of different advent calendars this season to choose from, I love the Signature Advent Calendar (C$84), which is so beautiful to look at thanks to award-winning French illustrator Edith Carron.
Open up this calendar to reveal 24 boxes in an imaginative holiday market. Each box reveals a mini of some of their best-selling items, including the Shea Butter Hand Cream, the Almond Shower Oil, and the Immortelle Overnight Reset Oil-in-Serum (which has never been included in their calendars in the past).
Also in the line up are the following items:
– Immortelle Precious Cream 5ml
– Shea Butter Ultra Rich Lip Balm 4ml
– Rose Hand Cream 10ml
– Almond Shower Oil 35ml
– Shea Light Comforting Cream 5ml
– Almond Body Milk 35ml
– Cherry Blossom Hand Cream 10ml
– Aromachologie 5 Essentials Oils Shampoo 35ml
– Aqua Reotier Ultra Thirst-Quenching Cream 5ml
– Shea Butter Hand Cream 10ml
– Shea Butter Extra Gentle Soap – Milk 25g
– Shea Butter Intensive Hand Balm 10ml
– Soap with Verbena Leaves 25g
– Aromachologie 5 Essentials Oils Conditioner 35ml
– Verbena Cooling Hand Cream Gel 10ml
– Verbena Shower Gel 30ml
– Shea Butter Foot Cream 10ml
– Shea Butter Ultra Rich Body Cream 20ml
– Lustrous Hair Treatment – SOS Shine 20ml
– Gel Cream Hair Treatment – SOS Moisture 20ml
– Aromachologie Gentle & Balance Micellar Shampoo 35ml
– Almond Delicious Hands 10ml
– Shea Honey Hand Cream 10ml
– Immortelle Overnight Reset Oil-in-Serum 5ml
Sure, there are a lot of creams and soaps, but honestly in these COVID times, these items will get lots of use and really, what else could you possibly ask for?
If you can still find it, this one is a must!
Rose Calisson collection
I’ve always been a fan of the scent of roses, so when I saw the brand’s Rose Calisson collection (C$99), I instantly felt that this was right up my alley.
This online-only set features four deluxe products, plus their Rose Calisson Eau De Toilette (50 ml). You get a 30 ml of the Rose Calisson Hand Cream, a 75 ml of the Rose Calisson Shower Gel, and a 75 ml of the Rose Calisson Body Lotion.
The scent itself is inspired by calisson, a famous French confection, which makes this collection a sweet treat. Other notes include rose for a more floral twist, as well as Centifolia and Damascena Roses, and finally, a woody base.
L’Occitane has a few other gift sets featuring this fragrance but I adore this one since myself personally, I would use all of these products. The hand cream is the perfect size to toss in your bag (I still have one from last year in one of my purses) and the body lotion and shower gel are the perfect things to start to end the day with. Best part is, it comes in a giftable box, meaning all you have to do it wrap it and voila! You’re all set.
These are just two offerings from L’Occitane this season, but like I said, the brand has so many other goodies in store for the holidays at all different price points. Make sure you check out their site to find the perfect gift for yourself or for someone else!
Is L’Occitane on your wish list this season?

Looking for a holiday treat? Then Guerlain has you covered.
Okay, so lipstick isn’t at the top of my wish list, but it is still an item that I love getting since you really can never have enough of them. Although red usually isn’t my go to, I do like sporting it during the holidays since it’s so festive and season appropriate.
If you are looking for a real treat, then I know you’ll absolutely love what Guerlain has in store the season.
As part of their Golden Bee collection, the French luxury beauty and skincare brand has released two new Rouge G cases in their line up, both of which feature rhinestones on them. I’m actually quite new to this lipstick line and the way it works is you pick out the colour and formula you want and then you choose the case separate. All the cases are super bougie and actually open up to reveal a mirror for handy touch ups.
Now I will say that is the fanciest lipstick in my collection. I received the Golden Ruby case, which features gold and red rhinestones and is really a show stopping piece (you’ll want to carry this around everywhere and whip it out for touchups, whether you need them or not!). They also have another case which features gold and silver rhinestones, which is just as stunning.
To go alongside these cases, the brand has also released two news shades in their Rouge G collection. There is a holiday red and a woody pink shade, both of which will pair nicely with your most sparkly dress (whether you’re celebrating with someone you live with or on Zoom this season).
I received the red, No. 32 matte, which is an orange-undertone red that screams holiday cheer. I actually really like the formula of this lipstick since it is a matte finish and stayed on the lips relatively well with no touch ups (even with a mask covering it). This is the kind of lipstick that pairs so nicely with a dramatic cat eye, a golden shimmery look, or even something more dramatic. Seriously, it may just be my new most perfect red.
Now when it comes to matte lipsticks, they usually gravitate towards a more dry formula, however, this was not the case with these. These lipsticks contain hyaluronic acid to hydrate, smooth, and plump lips, as well as black seed oil for additional hydration. It’s a comfortable wear and after a while, you won’t even notice you’re wearing it. Best part is that I found it stuck in place; I didn’t find the formula to move around, which is one of the reasons I don’t typically wear reds since they end up everywhere.
Now when it comes to these lipsticks, the case does sell separately. The lipsticks are C$40 each and the casing is C$42 (at least in this collection; there are more affordable ones as well). There is also have another limited-edition Rouge G Prestige Edition case which retails for a whopping C$345 (yes, you read that right). Honestly though, I really love the case I got and it’s definitely a real treat for this holiday season.
If red isn’t your thing, Guerlain offers up a variety of different shades in their Rouge G line, including a lip balm, which I’m sure will get a ton of wear (who doesn’t want a bougie lip balm?).
Have you tried the Guerlain Rouge G lipsticks?
