Okay, so when it comes to skincare, you guys know I love a lot of brands, but one that is consistently good is Laneige.
You may know that Korean skincare line from their cult-worthy Lip Sleeping Mask, but they also have a whole range of items that are formulated to give you younger-looking, glowing and hydrated skin. Their range has everything from lip balms to BB creams to serums, moisturizers, masks, and more. You can find their line at Sephora but if you are stumped on what to pick up, don’t worry, I got you. You can basically pick up anything from them and most likely love it but if you are curious about some of their new offerings, then keep reading…
Lip Sleeping Mask in Gummy Bear
Okay, so obviously this would not be a Laneige round up post without mentioning their Lip Sleeping Mask (C$26). They usually release this nighttime lip balm in fun seasonal scents and Gummy Bear is their newest release.
This balm comes housed in a little jar (it comes with a little spatula to apply it with) and although the product is only 20g, it will last you years (seriously, I have had mine for like three years now and I’m not done it).
You apply this mask before bed and overnight it will soothe, moisturize, and make lips more supple. It’s great for dryness and fine lines and the texture adheres to your lips for quick absorption. The formula includes a mix of Vitamin C and antioxidants, as well as its Berry Mix Complex, which is a blend of raspberry, strawberry, cranberry, ad blueberry. It also contains hyaluronic acid and minerals to wrap around lips to lock in moisture while you sleep.
i apply this to my lips every single night and swear by it (and so does anyone else I have ever spoken to who has tried it). Laneige includes this in many of their gift sets (it’s also a Sephora birthday option this year too) and it’s one of those products that I feel everyone should have in their collection. Although it’s aimed for nighttime use, you can of course use it anytime if you want some extra hydration.
Laneige Lip Głowy Balm in Gummy Bear
Following in the heels of their iconic Lip Sleeping Mask, a couple years ago they released a daytime version, the Lip Glowy Balm (C$20).
Also recently released in the scent Gummy Bear, the Lip Glowy Balm is a lightweight lip balm that aims to hydrate and tint lips for use throughout the day. They also have this one in a variety of staple scents and colours (I use the Peach one everyday at work), but they have also released this in their Gummy Bear scent for spring as well.
Unlike the Lip Sleeping Mask, this lip balm comes in a squeeze tube so it’s handier and more hygienic. This one contains shea butter to moisturize, as well as murumuru to lock in moisture.
Although I do prefer the Lip Sleeping Mask over this one (if I absolutely had to choose), I do like this balm too since it’s much handier to carry around with you. If you can afford, I do recommend picking up both. The texture I find is also different on this one with it being a little thinner in consistency and it having a slight tint (nothing too major).
Laneige Hypoallergenic Cica Sleeping Mask
Speaking of sleeping masks, Laneige also has an overnight mask that is designed for the face area to treat and soothe stressed skin.
The Hypoallergenic Cica Sleeping Mask (C$45) is a nighttime mask that helps give you healthier-looking and more hydrated skin.
Apply this before bed to combat dryness and redness. In terms of texture, it has a creamy texture to it that includes fermented forest yeast extract to give skin major benefits. This product is also more effective than madecassoside, which is also typically used in traditional cica products.
Apply this before bed and wake up with more hydrated skin. I also want to note that these kinds of products are great to layer over retinol since retinol can be very drying to the skin, so this will help to treat your skin while you sleep.
Laneige Cream Skin Mist
Finally, for some extra hydration throughout the day, give the Laneige Cream Skin Mist (C$36) a shot.
This refreshing mist spray is great for touchups throughout the day since it gives your skin a blast of hydration for up to 12 hours. This mist is great for all skin types and contains white leaf tea water to support the skin’s moisture barrier while hydrating and soothing.
I love this spray since it’s so handy to keep with you for on-the-go hydration. I like to use it a couple times throughout the day (especially with the warmer weather), since it’s so refreshing and instantly brightens the mood. I also want to note that the bottle mists this out perfectly, which I know if a weird thing to say, but honestly, I’ve tried a lot of these sprays and sometimes the packaging is so hit or miss.
You can also wear this just on bare skin or over makeup to give you a hydrated glow.
Of course this is just the tip of the iceberg in terms of the products that Laneige offers. They are also known for their serums and moisturizers and I highly recommend checking those out too.
What are your favourite Laneige products?

Okay, so fact about me, if I see a bee hovering near me, I will literally get up and run away.
I’ve never been stung by a bee and because of that, I have this fear that one day I’ll stung by one and then have this allergic reaction to it. I know, I’m being dramatic.
As much as bees freak me out, over the past year I’ve actually grown to really appreciate them since I’ve seen a number of beauty brands promote the benefits of bees, both in terms of the benefits of honey, as well as the importance of bees in our eco-system.
Did you know that in Canada, bees are one of our most important pollinators and that at least 30 per cent of the world’s crops and 90 per cent of all plants require cross-pollination to spread and thrive? Yeah, I didn’t actually know that either until recently. The number of bees in the world are also declining due to climate change, which causes some flowers to bloom earlier or later than usual, leaving bees with less food to survive. So as much as they freak me out, they are actually super important and instead of being terrified of them, I’ve come to appreciate all they do for this earth.
World Bee Day was actually yesterday, May 20, and as you guys may know, French luxury beauty brand Guerlain’s mission is to protect bees and their welfare (their emblem is the bee). A lot of their products feature bee-related motifs and they even have a program with UNESCO to contribute to the repopulation of bees.
For World Bee Day yesterday, they organized a global fundraiser with the goal of raising $1 million Euros to increase their investment in the protection of bees through the Guerlain for Bees Conservation Programme. From using global sales and social media, the goal of the campaign, which runs May 20 to 22, is to increase awareness on the need to protect bees, and reassert their status as a luxury sustainable beauty brand.
So what can you do to help out? You can shop in stores or on Guerlain.com, where 20 per cent of the worldwide sales will be donated to the Guerlain for Bees Conservation Programme. Even easier, you can head over to Guerlain’s Instagram account, where 20 Euros from every repost of their World Bee Day Instagram image with #GuerlainForBees and #WorldBeeDay will go towards the fund.
If you are looking to pick something up during this important campaign, take a look at their two new Aqua Allegoria fragrances. These two scents are both inspired by the wildflowers that bees love and the honey they produce. They also feature a beautiful honeycomb-inspired bottle that was first released in 1853.
Starting first with Nettare Di Sole (C$99), this eau de toilette is a fresh floral scent with a hint of citrus that’s perfect for summer. It contains notes of magnolia, floral honey accord, rose, and jasmine sambac. It’s a very fresh scent and perfect for the warmer weather ahead.
The second scent, Flora Salvaggia (C$99) is also a fresh floral scent with key notes of watermelon, wildflower accord, and jasmine. It’s also a really refreshing scent that you’ll want to wear all summer long.
Both fragrances come in the beautiful Aqua Allegoria bottles that look so stunning displayed on your vanity.
I really love this campaign that Guerlain is doing and really appreciate any time that brands come out with these initiatives since it shows they are wanting to make the world a better place. It looks like in order to even have a future in the world we need the help of bees so are sure you take part in this campaign, even if it’s just a repost from their social accounts.
Will you be picking up these perfumes this season?

My favourite colour? Hands down it’s pink!
I always love when Mary Kay releases new items since they are usually things that I use often and the colours are typically ones that I would actually wear. The brand released their summer collection yesterday and it’s filled with so many amazing products that will have you glowing all summer long.
And of course it’s not just makeup that’s part of the seasonal lineup. Mary Kay also has skincare and accessories that will definitely come in handy as we celebrate the warmer weather.
First up is the limited-edition Mary Kay Pink Eye Quads (C$26 each), which are available in two different colour ways. These palettes, which each contain four complementary shades each, have been selected by Luis Casco, who celebrates his 25th anniversary as the Mary Kay global beauty ambassador. These quads are both very wearable and if you have blue or green eyes, it will really make them pop.
Both the warm and cool quad contain matte and shimmer finishes and are very soft, creamy, and blendable. I love wearing pink eyeshadow since I find it makes my eyes pop. These palettes do come in a magnet container and are designed to be added to a palette, but if you don’t have one of those already, Mary Kay also offers these to purchase.
Apply the new shadows with the Eye Blending Brush and Brush Organizer Bundle (C$29). This set includes a new blending brush and an organizer case. Although you can purchase the new brush separately, I do love that they have a set available which can store all your favourite brushes.
When it comes time to take off your makeup for the day, take a look at the Mary Kay Makeup Remover Rounds (C$16). Available in a set of five, these rounds are eco-friendly and can be washed up to 200 times.
These are 100 per cent polyester and comes in a washable mesh bag. I use these often since they are really efficient at removing makeup. You can pair them with your favourite makeup remover or toner and best part is, they cut down on waste and will save you money in the long run.
Mary Kay has also released a new product in their TimeWise line up. The TimeWise Moisture Renewing Softener (C$24) works to hydrate, soften, and prep skin so your other skincare products work and absorb better in the skin. This product infuses skin with moisture, restores skin’s natural balance, is suitable for sensitive skin, and is alcohol free.
For the body, Mary Kay has released a limited-edition body care duo that is designed to give you soft and fragrant skin. The Mary Kay Body Care Set in Sparkling Cherry (C$35) contains a body lotion and mist in the Sparkling Cherry scent, which is perfect for summer time. The top notes include black cherry, sparking mandarin, and pink rhubarb; middle notes have wild freesia, velvet gardenia petals, and magnolia blossom; and base notes include tonka bean absolute, Tahitian vanilla, and fresh musk.
For the lips, Mary Kay has released two limited-edition shades of their Unlimited Lip Gloss (C$18) where $1 from each purchase will go towards their Mary Kay Ash Charitable Foundation, which celebrates 20 years this year.
Available in two shades, Confident Pink and Hopeful Lilac, these glosses are non-sticky, non-tacky, feel lightweight, and contains Vitamins C and E. I’m typically not a huge gloss girl since I hate the feeling of stuff getting caught in the gloss, but these are actually pretty comfortable to wear and they do give off some nice colour so you can wear them alone or over top of lipstick.
These glosses are part of their Pink Changing Lives campaign, which runs until August 15, 2021, so definitely try to pick one up before then.
I’m really impressed with the new releases from Mary Kay for the summer and recommend picking up a few items from the collection. They also have released a really awesome picnic tote (C$25), which is a tote bag that fold out to a picnic mat, which I can tell you now, it’s already come in handy with the warmer weather. As well, 100 per cent of the proceeds from this tote go towards the Mary Kay Ash Foundation, which helps women and children in need.
Will you be picking up any items from Mary Kay’s new summer collection?
