Lips & skin: Four new products you need to try from Laneige

Okay, so when it comes to skincare, you guys know I love a lot of brands, but one that is consistently good is Laneige.

You may know that Korean skincare line from their cult-worthy Lip Sleeping Mask, but they also have a whole range of items that are formulated to give you younger-looking, glowing and hydrated skin.  Their range has everything from lip balms to BB creams to serums, moisturizers, masks, and more. You can find their line at Sephora but if you are stumped on what to pick up, don’t worry, I got you. You can basically pick up anything from them and most likely love it but if you are curious about some of their new offerings, then keep reading…

Lip Sleeping Mask in Gummy Bear

Okay, so obviously this would not be a Laneige round up post without mentioning their Lip Sleeping Mask (C$26).  They usually release this nighttime lip balm in fun seasonal scents and Gummy Bear is their newest release.

This balm comes housed in a little jar (it comes with a little spatula to apply it with) and although the product is only 20g, it will last you years (seriously, I have had mine for like three years now and I’m not done it).

You apply this mask before bed and overnight it will soothe, moisturize, and make lips more supple.  It’s great for dryness and fine lines and the texture adheres to your lips for quick absorption.  The formula includes a mix of Vitamin C and antioxidants, as well as its Berry Mix Complex, which is a blend of raspberry, strawberry, cranberry, ad blueberry.  It also contains hyaluronic acid and minerals to wrap around lips to lock in moisture while you sleep.

i apply this to my lips every single night and swear by it (and so does anyone else I have ever spoken to who has tried it). Laneige includes this in many of their gift sets (it’s also a Sephora birthday option this year too) and it’s one of those products that I feel everyone should have in their collection. Although it’s aimed for nighttime use, you can of course use it anytime if you want some extra hydration.

Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask and Lip Glowy Balm in Gummy Bear

Laneige Lip Głowy Balm in Gummy Bear

Following in the heels of their iconic Lip Sleeping Mask, a couple years ago they released a daytime version, the Lip Glowy Balm (C$20).

Also recently released in the scent Gummy Bear, the Lip Glowy Balm is a lightweight lip balm that aims to hydrate and tint lips for use throughout the day.  They also have this one in a variety of staple scents and colours (I use the Peach one everyday at work), but they have also released this in their Gummy Bear scent for spring as well.

Unlike the Lip Sleeping Mask, this lip balm comes in a squeeze tube so it’s handier and more hygienic.  This one contains shea butter to moisturize, as well as murumuru to lock in moisture.

Although I do prefer the Lip Sleeping Mask over this one (if I absolutely had to choose), I do like this balm too since it’s much handier to carry around with you. If you can afford, I do recommend picking up both. The texture I find is also different on this one with it being a little thinner in consistency and it having a slight tint (nothing too major).

Laneige Hypoallergenic Cica Sleeping Mask

Speaking of sleeping masks, Laneige also has an overnight mask that is designed for the face area to treat and soothe stressed skin.

The Hypoallergenic Cica Sleeping Mask (C$45) is a nighttime mask that helps give you healthier-looking and more hydrated skin.

Apply this before bed to combat dryness and redness.  In terms of texture, it has a creamy texture to it that includes fermented forest yeast extract to give skin major benefits.   This product is also more effective than madecassoside, which is also typically used in traditional cica products.

Apply this before bed and wake up with more hydrated skin. I also want to note that these kinds of products are great to layer over retinol since retinol can be very drying to the skin, so this will help to treat your skin while you sleep.

Laneige Cica Sleping Mask and Cream Skin Mist

Laneige Cream Skin Mist

Finally, for some extra hydration throughout the day, give the Laneige Cream Skin Mist (C$36) a shot.

This refreshing mist spray is great for touchups throughout the day since it gives your skin a blast of hydration for up to 12 hours. This mist is great for all skin types and contains white leaf tea water to support the skin’s moisture barrier while hydrating and soothing.

I love this spray since it’s so handy to keep with you for on-the-go hydration. I like to use it a couple times throughout the day (especially with the warmer weather), since it’s so refreshing and instantly brightens the mood.  I also want to note that the bottle mists this out perfectly, which I know if a weird thing to say, but honestly, I’ve tried a lot of these sprays and sometimes the packaging is so hit or miss.

You can also wear this just on bare skin or over makeup to give you a hydrated glow.

Of course this is just the tip of the iceberg in terms of the products that Laneige offers. They are also known for their serums and moisturizers and I highly recommend checking those out too.
