When it comes to hair care there isn’t a one-size-fits-all shampoo and conditioner.
Everyone’s hair is different. There is coloured hair, blonde hair, fine hair, thick hair, sensitive scalp… the list goes on and on. Because of that, it’s very important that you find a hair care routine that is suitable for your specific hair type.
With the colder weather coming up, I usually find that my hair and scalp gets more dry, so I try to use more hair care lines that are targeted for those concerns. I have so many different hair care products and I do like to rotate them out depending on the time of the year and even the day I wash my hair.
So if you are looking for some new hair care products to try out this season, then I think you’ll enjoy this post.
DermaE Scalp Relief Hair Care
So like I mentioned, I tend to have a really dry scalp in the colder months, so the DermaE Scalp Relief Hair Care regimen will come in handy.
Comprised of the Scalp Relief Shampoo, the Scalp Relief Conditioner, and the Scalp Relief Treatment, this line is aimed to tighten, firm, and smooth the look of thin or flaky skin. This line cleanses and helps to alleviate symptoms associated with a dry and irritated scalp.
Start first with the Scalp Relief Shampoo (C$17.49), which is gentle enough for daily use. Massage the product on the hair and scalp and make sure to leave it on there for at least three to five minutes. After you rinse, apply the Scalp Relief Conditioner (C$17.49) to your hair and scalp as well and then leave on for two to three minutes before rinsing out.
Once you are out of the shower and with your hair still damp, apply the Scalp Relief Treatment, which contains tea tree oil and cooling menthol to soothe dry, flakey and itchy scalp. It also has aloe vera, sea kelp, and alma extracts to moisturize, as well as the brand’s herbal blend, which promotes a balanced and hydrated scalp. To apply this, part hair into sections and apply a few drops to each section and massage it onto the scalp. You can also apply it overnight if you know you are going to wash your hair the next morning.
Kerastase Soleil Nourishing After Sun regimen
Okay so this next one is more for the summer time, but the sun still shines in the fall and winter, and if you are planning a hot weather vacation this year, then you’ll love the Kerastase Soleil Nourishing After Sun line.
Start first with the Soleil Nourishing After Sun Shampoo (C$46), which is a shampoo that contains coconut water and UV filters to protect against sun damage while also removing chlorine, sand, and saltwater residue. This hair care line is suitable for all hair types and is great for those who spend a lot of time in the sun or in the water.
Aimed to combat dryness, shine, and provide UV protection, this shampoo and conditioner helps protect the hair against harmful UV rays and removes all the gunk from chlorine, salt and sane. It also helps to nourish and illuminate hair. After the shampoo, make sure to go in with the Soleil Nourishing After Sun Hair Mask (C$72), which is a lightweight rinse-out mask that nourishes and hydrates hair that is exposed to too much sun, as well as chlorine, sand and salt.
In addition to combatting dryness, it is also great for frizz and the ingredients help to bring back shine and softness to your damaged locks. After the shower, apply the Soleil Nourishing After Sun Hair Cream (C$46), which is a leave-in hair cream that protects hair from sun damage, salt water, sand residue, and chlorine. It is great for all hair types and helps to provide hair with UV protection, smooth hair, and nourish dry, sun exposed hair. Even if you don’t want to pick up the full line, I would recommend picking up with cream if you spend a lot of time in the sun or in water.
L’Oreal Paris Dream Lengths More Than Shampoo
Have damaged hair? Then give L’Oreal Paris’ Dream Lengths More Than Shampoo (C$9.49) a shot.
This product washes your hair like a shampoo but cares for your hair like a mask. Apply this to your hair, working it from root to tip to gain three-times more softness, and two-times more detangling. The formula deep cleans hair without weighing it down and also cares for the scalp as well. It contains nutritive lipids that you can usually find in serums and treatments for really nourished hair.
I love pulling this out a couple times a month to reset my hour and nourish it for the ultimate in smooth and softness. I do typically use a conditioner after this but if you are strapped for time or just want to use one product, then this is great to keep on hand. It would also be great to pair with their 8 Second Wonder Water product.
I really love all these products and find they will help my hair get through the next few months. What are some of your hair care concerns?

Did you know that L’Oreal Paris’ iconic tagline “You’re worth it” celebrates 50 years this year?
The brand started it’s legacy in France in the early 1900s and has since grown to become one of the biggest beauty brands on earth. From their humble beginnings in haircare, they have gone on to launch and acquire some of the largest beauty brands on the planet while still maintaining their own in-house brand, L’Oreal Paris, which has categories in makeup, hair, and skincare.
Now I’ve been using L’Oreal Paris for years and it’s definitely a favourite of mine. I use their makeup, hair, and skincare products and have loved just about everything they offer, so much so that I wanted to share some favourites of mine from each of those categories.
L’Oreal Paris Dream Lengths 8 Second Wonder Water
If you haven’t tried L’Oreal Paris’ Dream Lengths 8 Second Wonder Water yet, here is your sign to do so.
When it comes to detangling hair, a conditioner is usually what I reach for, but sometimes I just need a little bit of extra help. That’s where the L’Oreal Paris Dream Lengths 8 Second Wonder Water (C$12.99) comes in.
This product is a conditioning treatment that is designed to be left in your hair for eight seconds and rinses out to reveal smoother, shinier, and silkier hair. This is a rinse, meaning you apply it between your shampoo and conditioner in the shower and is great to use for long or damaged hair.
I love the idea of this product since sometimes I’ll go in with two different conditioners so my hair is softer and silkier. Every hair product has a certain purpose but when it comes to conditioner, I like it to leave my hair soft and tangle free. That’s where this comes in since it detangles in only eight seconds and leaves hair five-times shiner and four-times smoother. And when I say it works in eight seconds, I mean it works in eight seconds.
Just squirt the product on your hair (I like to do mid-hair to the ends). At first it doesn’t seem like it does much, but as soon as the water hits it, your hair instantly will instantly feel smooth and soft. I was truly surprised at how amazing this product is.
Although it is aimed at long hair, obviously any hair length can use it and I think it’s one of those products that are just really useful to have on hand.
L’Oreal Paris Lash Paradise Mascara
When it comes to my favourite mascaras – luxury or drugstore – Lash Paradise (C$16.99) is really high on the list.
When this mascara originally came out a few years ago it was a dupe for Too Faced’s Better Than Sex mascara, however, it has definitely proven itself and is probably one of the best mascaras on the market today.
This mascara gives lashes volume and length thanks to its hourglass brush that allows you to push up lashes, build volume, and increase length. The brush features over 200 bristles to coat every lash for a flirty effect that don’t feel stiff either.
Now I’ve tried a lot of mascaras that feature a similar brush but there is something about this particular one that is really special. The formula isn’t too wet (which really makes a difference with my lashes)and this brush in particular really just gets in there and makes lashes look amazing, long, and noticeable.
If you buy just one L’Oreal Paris product, make it this one.
L’Oreal Paris Cell Renewal Anti-Aging Midnight Serum
One of L’Oreal Paris’ newest products is the Cell Renewal Anti-Aging Midnight Serum (C$44.99), which is their newest all-star serum.
This serum is targeted to smooth wrinkles and give you more firmer and radiant skin. Apply this serum before bed where it will work while you sleep, which is when skin reaches its peak of cell renewal. Suitable for all skin types and tones, this serum helps skin feel more moisturized, look more radiant and plumped, and feel stronger and more supple. With regular use your skin will look healthier and visibly younger.
This serum is on the pricier side at close to $50 for a drugstore product but if you like Estee Lauder’s Advanced Night Repair but want a more affordable option, then this would be a good alternative to try. It’s not exactly the same but it contains some of the same ingredients so it would be a good product to try instead.
Now obviously L’Oreal Paris has many other products to try in their huge range of items, but these have been my top three favourites over the last few years and I like how it just so happened to be one from each category.
I actually just posted an Instagram Reel earlier this week featuring two other new haircare favourites from the brand and I would love if you went and checked it out.
What are your favourite products from L’Oreal Paris?

So as I’m writing this it’s currently a Sunday and every Sunday I like to partake in a face mask at night to reset my skin for the week ahead.
Now when it comes to the texture of mask, I’m really not the picky and I rotate masks out constantly, so when I get a new one in I’m always very excited to try it out. The newest one I have gotten is by Pixi Beauty and their new Remedy Masks.
Now these masks are huge in come in a container similar to Ben and Jerry’s ice cream. The 300 ml containers contain a pure treatment and vegan formula that you can use day and night. All three flavours are packed with nutrients and botanicals and can be used on their own or cocktailed together for a custom regimen.
First up is the Rose Remedy Mask (C$34), which is a nourishing and toning jelly that has nutrients and botanicals to refresh and nourish skin. It contains reship oil to moisturize and restore, argan oil to moisturize and smooth, cica to heal and help with inflammation, and turmeric for antioxidants.
The Vitamin-C Remedy Mask (C$34) is for brightening and toning. It contains citrus to brighten and tone, green tea to firm, ferulic acid for its antioxidants, and ginseng to revitalize and balance.
Finally, the Milky Remedy Mask (C$34) is for soothing and toning. It contains coconut to nourish and condition, oat extract to soothe and hydrate, chamomile to calm skin and sooth irritation, as well as sea buckthorn to hydrate and reduce redness.
Like I said, you can either use one all over or use multiple ones for a more custom experience. For instance if you want to treat redness on your cheeks you can use the Milky Remedy Mask, and for the under eyes area and forehead/jawline you can use the Rose Remedy Mask.
For a drugstore brand, these are very pricey, however, you get a ton of product in here, so these masks will mask for a very long time. All it takes is 10 minutes for the mask to wear and use it whenever your skin needs some TLC.
Have you tried the Pixi Beauty masks yet?
