Tis the season: Top sets to gift from Tula skincare this holiday season

I can’t believe I’m already writing about holiday sets!

This year has seriously flew by and once again it’s time to think about the holidays and everyone on your gift list.  I always say that this time of the year is the best for beauty and skincare, both for yourself and anyone on your list.  When it comes to gifts, you really can’t go wrong with skincare or makeup and if you can get it at an amazing price, then even better!

Tula is one of my favourite skincare brands, and for the most part, the majority of their items have blown me away.  Tula is now available through Sephora Canada, as well as their own dedicated site here in Canada, but of course if you are in the States then you can get it at Ulta, the Tula site, and other places as well.

Now I’m starting off the holiday posts with Tula since they have some incredible sets for an amazing price plus you can get an additional 25% off, with free shipping with code SHAYNA. Usually my code is only 15% off, but it’s valid for 25% off until November 13, 2022.  This code is valid on both the U.S. and Canadian site.  To make this even sweeter, Tula’s site also has a deal where if you spend $75 or more before November 17, you will get a $25 credit to use on their site after December 9, 2022!

So ready to shop? Here are some of my top picks for holiday sets from Tula.

Tula Eye Balm Extravaganza Holiday Eye Balm Kit

Tula Eye Balm Extravaganza Holiday Eye Balm Kit

I have been a huge fan of Tula’s eye balms for years now so this eye balm kit is a great time to stock up!

The Tula Eye Balm Extravaganza Holiday Eye Balm Kit (C$79, valued at $130) has all three of Tula’s famous eye balms, including the Glow & Get It Cooling & Brightening Eye Balm, the Rose Glow & Get It Cooling & Brightening Eye Balm, and the 24-7 Power Swipe Day & Night Treatment Eye Balm.

All three eye balms are full size and they come individually packed so you can either gift them together or split them up amongst friends and family.

I’ve used all three eye balms and love them.  The original one was the Glow & Get It Cooling & Brightening Eye Balm, which instantly hydrates, cools, and reduces the look of fine lines and wrinkles.  The Rose Glow & Get It Cooling & Brightening Eye Balm was released next and also hydrates, cools, and reduces the look of fine lines and wrinkles, plus leaves you with a dewy rose glow. Finally the 24-7 Power Swipe Hydrating Day & Night Treatment Eye Balm firms, hydrates, and reduces the look of fine lines and wrinkles, as well as puffiness.  It also helps to protect the delicate eye area from the damaging effects of blue light.

This set is incredible since you end up saving C$51, so even if you are a fan of their eye balms, I would highly recommend picking this up to stock up your collection.

Celebrate Little Moments 5-Piece Refining Kit

Celebrate Little Moments 5-Piece Refining Kit

The next set would make a great gift for a Tula lover, as well as someone new to the brand.

The Celebrate Little Moments 5-Piece Refining Kit (C$128, valued at $214) is a set that contains four full-size Tula products plus a limited-edition holographic bag.

Included in this set is the Cult Classic Purifying Face Cleanser, the Claydate Toning Face Mask Stick, the 24-7 Moisture Hydrating Day & Night Cream, and the Glow & Get It Cooling and Brightening Eye Balm.  In total, this set saves you $86 and stocks you up with some of my favourite Tula products.

I always say that if I had to choose my fave Tula products it would be the Cult Classic cleanser, the 24-7 Day & Night Cream, as well the one of the eye balms (I also highly recommend the sunscreens, however, those are not available in Canada yet). This set includes all three products, plus their Claydate mask, which is also amazing since you apply it straight from the stick, making it way cleaner to apply compared to other clay masks.

Again, I think this is an amazing set to pick up and one of my favourite sets that Tula has for this holiday season.

Tula So Sweet Exfoliating Facial Scrub Trio

Tula Holiday Sugar Scrub Kit

Finally, if you are a fan of Tula’s scrubs, then you’ll love the Holiday Sugar Scrub Kit (C$73, valued at C$93).

This set includes three full-size of their iconic exfoliators, all of which come in festive scents. Now I’m not a huge exfoliator fan since I find a lot of them tend to leave behind the exfoliating beads. This isn’t the case with these scrubs from Tula. These are made with sugar, so once you add in water it breaks down the formula and melts away excess sebum, buildup and debris, leaving your skin looking more radiant and feeling more soft.

The formula contains probiotic extracts to improve skin smoothness and calm he look of irritation. It also has papaya and pineapple enzymes to brighten and exfoliate, as well as sugar to sugar to gently exfoliate without stripping skin.

I have both the original one, which is a pineapple scent, as well as the pumpkin one they released last year and I love the fun scents they come out with these (they are very fragrant FYI).  The three scents included in this set are Gingerbread, Sugar Plum, and Chocolate Peppermint.  This does come in a festive box, but you can always split them up and gift them individually as well.

Tula also has a few other sets to gift for the holiday season as well, but I really love these three since they are great to gift to one person or multiple people if you split them up. If you love Tula, or have someone on your list who adores Tula, then I would recommend picking up a set or two this holiday season.  Just don’t forget to use code SHAYNA for some extra money off!

Are any Tula sets on your wish list?

Staying sun kissed: Products to try from St. Tropez for fall

St. Tropez gradual tanners Now that the weather is getting cooler, that means my skin is getting paler.

Although I don’t usually keep up with tanning, whether that’s in the sun or self-tanning, once the weather gets cooler, I do like to throw on a self-tanning product every once in a while since it helps to boost the mood and I feel like I just look better with a tan (who doesn’t?!). The thing is, right now I’ve shied away more from the darker tanning mousses and gravitated more towards gradual tanners that give you a gorgeous, natural-looking glow.

To achieve this kind of tanning effect I’ve been using a lot of St. Tropez products, who recently loaded me up for fall to keep my glow going year round.

St. Tropez Gradual Tan Classic Daily Firming Lotion Light/Medium

St. Tropez Gradual Tan Classic Daily Firming Lotion Light/Medium

For the body, give the St. Tropez Gradual Tan Classic Daily Firming Lotion (C$38) a shot. This lotion, which I like to apply after a shower or before bed, hydrates, protects, smooths, soothes, and firms skin thanks to five super skincare benefits.

Use this cream everyday to build a sun-kissed glow that hydrates skin without feeling too heavy.  It locks in moisture for up to 72 hours and won’t leave you smelly or streaky.  The formula contains a high molecular weight hyaluronic acid, plant-based marine algae, and an antioxidant blend of upcycled blueberry and raspberry seed oils. I also want to add that the formula contains 95 per cent natural ingredients and is a vegan-friendly formula.

The great thing about these tanners are that they also hydrate skin and I find that these also absorb really nicely into the skin as well so it doesn’t leave you feeling gross or tacky.  It also doesn’t leave a weird tanner scent, so it’s really the most ideal product for everyday use.

St. Tropez also offers this in a watermelon scent as well, the Gradual Tan Watermelon Daily Firming Lotion (C$38), which is the one I’ve been using right now since the watermelon is really pleasant to smell.
Gradual Tan Classic Daily Youth Boosting Cream

Gradual Tan Classic Daily Youth Boosting Cream

I have been using St. Tropez products for years now and although their bronzing mousse is usually my go-to items, I have been loving their gradual lotions lately.

For the face, St. Tropez Tan Classic Daily Youth Boosting Cream (C$38) is a hydrating moisturizer which leaves you with a natural-looking tan and visibly firms and plumps skin. Apply this cream morning and night to build up a natural facial glow that hydrates skin up to 72 hours.

It contains a blend of up cycled blueberry and raspberry seed oils, which are high in antioxidants and protects skin from environmental damage. It also has red bell pepper, which protects skin from blue light damage and pollution, which can lead to visible signs of aging.  Lastly, it contain a dual-molecular-weight hyaluronic acid, which hydrates and visibly plumps skin.

Although I do like this cream, for a better tanning effect I prefer the Self Tan Purity Bronzing Water (C$39) since I find it leaves you with a faster-developing glow.

These are all great products for everyday wear, and although they are on the pricier side, I do think they are worth the money.  If you are interested in picking any of these up, it’s currently the Sephora holiday sale, so it’s a great time to grab them at a fraction of the price.

Have you tried these St. Tropez products?

Nourished nation: New serums you should try for fall

When it comes to must-have skincare products, a good serum definitely makes my list.

Serums seem to be one of the more pricier skincare items you can buy but they are well worth the price. A serum is a more concentration product that really penetrates into the skin to help with a variety of different concerns.

I have tried a number of different serums throughout the years and love trying out new ones.  I have a few that stand out to me as being stellar products but I’m always on the hunt for a newer and greater ones.

I recently got in a ton of new serums and with drier and colder weather coming up, it’s a great time to put them to the test.

Fresh Tea Elixir Skin Resilience Activating Serum

Fresh Tea Elixir Skin Resilience Activating Serum

When it comes to tried and true skincare lines, Fresh ranks high on my list.

Brand-new, the Fresh Tea Elixir Skin Resilience Activating Serum (C$104 for 30 ml) is an advanced serum that boosts skin’s resilience for smoother texture, a visible glow, restored bounce, and reduced wrinkles.

Great for all types of skin types, this serum is ideal for those who have fine lines and wrinkles, dryness, and dullness. The formula contains Adaptive Phytocompound Tea (APT) technology, which increases skin’s bioenergetic systems and antioxidant protection.  It also has niacinamide to refine the look of pores and improve visible radiance, as well as 5kDA hyaluronic acid to hydrate and minimize the look of lines and wrinkles.

This serum is ideal for morning and night use and will help skin function at its full potential.  If you suffer from lack of sleep, stress, and seasonal changes, which can all lead to visible signs of aging, this would be great for you. I also want to add that this is a clean skincare product, which means it doesn’t contain any ingredients that could be bad for you.

Reversa BIOmimetik Regenerative Serum

Reversa BIOmimetik Regenerative Serum

Another great new serum to try, and from a Canadian brand, is the Reversa BIOmimetik Regenerative Serum (C$70), which is inspired by the skin’s natural regeneration processes to target key signs of aging and support the skin’s natural elasticity, health, and quality.

This serum is great for helping to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It contains biomimetic ingredients, which mimic substances or functions that our skin naturally produces and which decrease over time.  With regular use of this serum, the skin looks more rejuvenated, hydrated, and more radiant.

Formula with 99 per cent ingredients of natural origin, this serum contains a plant-based Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF), which is an exceptional restorative ingredient, as well as natural biopeptides from cranberries growing in Quebec, and a 3D hyaluronic acid complex, which is composed of six sizes of hyaluronic acid. It also has an extract of Indian gentian leaves to strengthen the skin barrier.

Vichy Liftactiv Supreme H.A. Wrinkle Filler

Vichy Liftactiv Supreme H.A. Wrinkle Filler

Another great anti-aging serum is the Vichy Liftactiv Supreme H.A. Wrinkle Filler (C$62.95).

This serum has a high percentage of hyaluronic acid to fill wrinkles and leave you with smoother and more radiant skin.

This serum contains 1.5 per cent pure hyaluronic acid, vitamin C, neuro-peptides, and Vichy’s volcanic water to help reduce wrinkles on the face and eye area by 47 per cent and fine lines by 60 per cent after six weeks of usage.

This serum comes with a unique applicator where you gently press the applicator to dispense two to three drops directly onto the skin.  This is inspired by pharmaceutical standards of safety and allows precise application and limits the risk of bacterial contamination.

Ideal for day and night, this is a great serum to use for wrinkles and fine lines.  Vichy also has two other serums that come in similar bottles, the Liftactiv Supreme Vitamin C Serum  and Liftactiv Specialist B3 Dark Spots Serum.

Biotherm Blue Retinol Night Serum

Biotherm Blue Retinol Night Serum

I’ve always been a big fan of the Biotherm Life Plankton Elixir so when I saw they released a new serum, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it.

New from the brand, the Blue Retinol Night Serum (C$99) is a powerful serum that targets wrinkles, evens skin tone and skin quality to reveal healthy and youthful skin.

This serum is ideal for nighttime use since it has their Life Plankton and 0.25 per cent retinol in it, which repairs skin while you sleep.  It has a 100 per cent vegan and 92 per cent biodegradable clean formula.  Apply it before bed and you’ll wake up with more even and smooth skin.

This serum pair perfectly with their new Blue Pro-Retinol Cream – Anti-Aging Cream (C$98), which is a retinol anti-aging cream that targets wrinkles and fine lines.  This night-time cream has a 92 per cent natural formula and is infused with 100 per cent natural, renewable, and biodegradable Life Plankton probiotic extracts, which stimulate skin regeneration.

Apply the serum first and then go in with this moisturizer before during your night-time routine.  Make sure to also apply sunscreen the next morning since retinol makes skin more sensitive to UV rays and sunlight.

These are just a few new serums to try out and of course the beauty industry has tons of others to choose from (with new ones introduced everyday). As we are heading into the winter months I’m looking forward to incorporating these into my routine for healthier, smoother, and younger-looking skin.
