Looking for some positive energy in your skincare routine? Then take a look at Biore’s new collection.
The Biore Rose Quartz and Charcoal Collection is a skincare collective that is designed to transform your skin while boosting your mood. The products are infused with rose quartz and charcoal to deeply cleanse pores, draw out impurities, and lift your mood all in one! Biore already has a charcoal line and this ingredient has definitely become a hot trend in the beauty realm for cleaning pores, but the real star of the show is definitely the rose quartz, which is the stone of universal love. It restores trust and harmony in relationships, encourages unconditional love, and opens the heart for love, self-love, friendship, and feelings of peace.
Okay, so the rose quartz thing may be a little gimmicky, but after trying this collection, I can vouch that it will make your skin feel amazing.
The line consists of five skincare products: three cleansers, a scrub, and a mask.
The Biore Rose Quartz and Charcoal Purifying Cleanser (C$9.99) is a daily cleanser that suds up and removes daily dirt, excess oil, and impurities from your skin and pores. Apply one pump to your hands and work it onto the face then rinse off. This will leave your face feeling so fresh and ready for the rest of your skincare routine.
The Biore Rose Quartz and Charcoal Marshmallow Foam Cleanser (C$9.99) on the other hand is a light and fluffy cleanser that is nice and gentle on the face while doing a great job of pulling out gunk from your pores. This deeply cleans your face without leaving it feeling dry. I really like the texture of this one since it’s a really light cleanser and feels so nice when applying it on the skin.
Finally, if you prefer a bar of soap, then take a look at the Biore Rose Quartz and Charcoal Pore Penetrating Bar, which I believe you can also use all over your body in addition to your face. This one is my least favourite from the three cleansers since I personally find bar soap to be messy, but if this formula is more your fam, then I’m sure you’ll love it.
For an extra deep clean, take a look at the Biore Rose Quartz and Charcoal Gentle Pore Refining Scrub (C$9.99), which energizes your skin thanks to micro-crystals that leave pores visibly smaller and smoother. The crystals help to rid your skin of dirt and oil and leaves the face nice and soft, as well as prepped for the rest of your skincare products.
Finally, for some extra TLC, apply the Biore Rose Quartz and Charcoal Stress Relief Clay Mask (C$8.97), which leaves stressed skin feeling relaxed and happy. Apply this detox mask to the face and leave on for at least 15 to 20 minutes. Once rinsed, your skin will look radiant and feel so much happier.
When this collection first came in I was instantly drawn to it thanks to the pink packaging, but when I started to actually use the products I was really happy and impressed with how they made my skin look and feel. My face felt very fresh afterwards and I did find that my mood instantly lifted.
The whole crystal thing may be a little gimmicky, but I can definitely say that I felt much happier at the end of the day after washing my face.

We’ve all been there.
You have your dress set out, the perfect shoes to wear with it, and your hair and makeup is all done. You reach into your dresser to pull a pair of stockings out, you bunch up one of the legs and sit down to put them on. You slip the stockings onto your feet and you start to pull them up when you notice a snag. To make matters worse, they are your only pair and you don’t have time to get a fresh pair of tights.
I think we can all understand that struggle. Seriously, stockings can be the most frustrating things ever and they really are super disposable. But what if there was a solution for this problem? A pair of stockings that won’t break, snag, or wear out? Well friends, there is such a thing. And best of all, it’s a Canadian product.
If you follow me on Instagram you would have seen me talking a lot about Sheertex, which is indestructible pantyhose that won’t rip, snag, or break. Sounds too good to be true right? I thought so true, and then I tried them.
The Sheertex story starts with Canadian Katherine Homuth, who went through an 18-month research and development process to create a pair of unbreakable stockings. She ended up working with suppliers to develop a uniquely strong polymer, which is often found in ballistic materials and climbing gear. The stockings are so strong that they say that are similar to the materials that are used in bullet-proof vests.
Anyways, after receiving my first pair of them I was instantly sold. Although they do come in a variety of different options, colours, and prints, my favourites are the Classic Sheers (C$81), which are available in five sizes and three different lengths. You can also get them in six different colours – black, light, medium, dark, navy, charcoal. I have two pairs in the medium colour, which is a lighter shade with a hint of tan. I initially ordered them in medium, but did find they stretched out a little bit so I reordered in small and find the small to be the perfect fit.
These are great since you basically slip them on like tights; you don’t have to be careful AT ALL since they won’t rip. Sheertex also sends each package with a mini test stocking so you can see how indestructible they really are.
I also have a pair in the Shaping Sheers (C$81), which have a control-top waist and accentuate your curves. These are available in five sizes and four shades – black, light, medium, and dark. I have them in black so I can wear them to the office and love them. The control top does look like shorts though, so if you are wearing something shorter, you may find they will peek through underneath, so just something to keep in mind.
If you are wanting to try out a pair of Sheertex yourself and are worried about the price, I get it. C$81 is a lot of money, especially for stockings, but as someone who has tried them, I guarantee that you will get your money’s worth, especially since you won’t have to purchase stockings after these. These really are all you’ll need since they will not break and I guarentee you, you will definitely get your money’s worth.

One of my favourite things about spring is definitely the colours.
With spring comes warmer weather, more sunlight, and lots of bright colours. Now that we are officially into March and Daylight Savings Time is on the horizon, it’s time to start thinking about putting away our winter coats, changing up our skincare routine, and incorporating more colour into our wardrobe and makeup. If you need a little help with that, then Dior Beauty has you covered.
As part of Dior’s spring 2020 collection, the prestige beauty brand has come out with a number of items that celebrate pop culture and music. There are eyeshadow palettes, blushes, luminizers, Lip Glows (already reviewed here), and more.
Dior has released two eyeshadow palettes in this collection, both of which are fun and bright. I received the 5 Couleurs palette in Pink Vibration (C$73), which consists of five bright shades that are eye-catching, fun, and definitely not for the faint of heart. This palette opens up to a blend of shocking purples, a bold yellow, and a pastel orange. It also feature music note motifs embossed in the shadows themselves.
Now the first thing I thought when I saw this palette was ‘oh my gosh, it’s so pretty!’ but then logic set in and I realized that although the colours are stunning to look at, they aren’t really shades that I wear on a daily basis. Sure, yellow is fun, but when was the last time you wore it on your eyes?
With that being said, aside from the yellow, this palette is totally workable. I use orange almost every time I apply my eyeshadow since it’s the perfect transition colour. I like to apply the orange into my crease and then I would take the darker purple on top and the lilac on the lids for an easy purple look.
As for the formula, in general I don’t really find Dior’s eyeshadow formula to be that great. The colours apply nicely but I’ve used other shadows from much more affordable brands that are more pigmented. Don’t get me wrong, these apply nice on the lids but I find the formula to be on the lighter side. If you want something that packs a punch, this isn’t it.
Although you can definitely make it work, I think that for C$73 it is on the steep side for such a novelty palette, but if you are a collector of Dior makeup then I think you’ll really like this one.
If eyeshadow ain’t your thing, then I really think you’ll love what the brand has for cheeks.
As part of this collection, Dior has released a limited-edition shade in their Dior Backstage Rosy Glow Blush (C$46). This blush is a universal blush that will work with your skin tone and temperature to create a custom colour suitable for you.
As part of this collection, the shade 003 Pearl is a subtle pearlescent pink that looks super bright in the pan, but I promise it doesn’t actually apply that way. Swirl your blush brush in the pan and apply to cheeks for a healthy glow.
Unlike the eyeshadow palette, this blush will definitely be something that a) anyone can use since it works with each person’s individual skin tone and temperature, and b) it’s a universally flattering colour, meaning that you can use it every single day. I really love this blush and love the whole concept behind it. It’s very bright in the pan but it really does apply really nicely (and the Dior embossing is a cute little detail as well).
As mentioned, Dior Beauty has a ton of other products available in this collection. Although each item may be a little bold for everyday wear, I do appreciate what they did with this collection and if you are a Dior die-hard then I think you’ll want to stock up on more than a few items.
