Saturated colour: Mary Kay Cosmetics Gel Semi-Matte Lipsticks
I’ve never really been one for direct-sales brands. My mom used to order us Avon stuff as a kid, but being so impatient, I always wanted the order right. now.
I’m sure you can think of at least five direct-sales beauty brands as there are so many of them now, however, one of the most well-known is Mary Kay. The brand has been around for over 50 years and has 3.5 million independent beauty consultants in more than 35 countries around the world. The brand boasts cosmetics, skincare, fragrances, and more.
My first foray into Mary Kay was actually last week when I remembered I had a box of fall goodies sitting around that was sent to me a couple months back. They sent me some pretty impressive cosmetics, and a large amount of lipsticks.
New to the brand are the Mary Kay Gel Semi-Matte Lipsticks, which give you lasting colour with a lip-cushioning gel comfort. Available in eight shades, they are non-drying, long-lasting and apply in a semi-matte finish.
The Mary Kay Gel Semi-Matte Lipsticks are the first full-coverage lipstick by Mary Kay to utilize gel microsphere technology for rich colour that lasts for hours. They don’t dry out your lips and are extremely comfortable to wear. Application is also amazing, as they deliver saturated colour on one swipe.
Considering that I haven’t tried Mary Kay before and I’ve always thought it was more of a “mom brand”, I really liked these lipsticks. They sent me all eight shades, and although there are a few colours I wouldn’t necessarily wear, there were tons of on-trend shades that I can’t wait to bust out a little more.
As Mary Kay promises, the colour was very comfortable on the lips and it did last last a while on the lips. I did have to do some minor touch ups throughout the day after eating and drinking, but overall they held their colour quite well.
These babies retail for $18 USD each. You can browse them online, however, when you go to check out I guess it will pair you up with an independent beauty consultant closest to you.
If you are a Mary Kay user already, I would definitely look into trying some of these out. Are they different from any other lipstick out there? No. I have a ton of drugstore lipsticks already that are moisturizing in wear and apply pigmented. Mary Kay does have a bunch of cute stuff for fall and holidays though, so if you are interested in doing an order, definitely stock up with a few different items.
Are you a Mary Kay user? Have you tried their new Gel Semi-Matte lipsticks yet?
Please note, I was sent this product from PR. All opinions are my own.
