Strobing/Contour: Maybelline Master Strobing Stick & Highlight and Contour Stick

title

Scared of contouring? Clueless about strobing? With so many products out there now to chisel those cheekbones and give you that dewy glow, it’s so easy to accomplish these trends. All you need to do is go to Sephora and there are sections dedicated to getting you those lit AF cheekbones and angelic glow, but if you want something a little more affordable to try out, Maybelline’s got your back.

Released in the summer, the drugstore beauty brand has released some new goodies in the Master Contour lineup. First up, the Master Contour V-Shape Duo Stick Contour and Highlight is a duo all-in-one product to add structure to the face. One half of the stick is the contour side and the other half is the highlight. Available in three shades, the creamy matte formula blends super easy, either with your fingers or a beauty blender, and adds structure and lift in two steps.

Since I already had some concealer on, I mostly used this product for the contouring part. It glided on so smoothly and I went in with a damp beauty blender to even it all out. You can’t really tell in the photos, but I did use the highlight part directly underneath the contour just to sharpen up the line. Once it’s blended out it’s a really nice natural-looking contour. I did end up going over it with a bronzer afterwards just to make it pop a little more.

To finish off your perfectly sculpted face, give Maybelline’s Master Contour Strobing Stick Illuminating Highlight a shot. Also ultra-creamy, this lightweight highlight, available in two shades, contains micro-fine pearls to give your skin a glow for an all-night highlight. All you need to do is swipe it on and blend it out.

This product is incredibly easy to use and it blends out amazingly. Apply it to the highs of your cheekbones, down the bridge of your nose, along your brow bone, your cupid’s bow and your chin, then blend! What you’re left with is a dewy glow.

final

I was a little iffy on the contour stick at first, but it ended up being amazing. One of my all-time most-viewed blog posts is on an affordable highlight and contour, which features the Maybelline Fit Me foundation stick in a dark colour.

If I’m going all out with my makeup, I will usually apply a cream contour first, blend it, then apply a powder over top to darken it up. Also, since I travel so often, a duo product like this is amazing to just toss in my travel makeup bag.  As for the strobing stick, the simplicity of the product is amazing and the glow it gives you is out of this world. Make sure you check out both of these products next time you’re at the drugstore.

Have you tried Maybelline’s new contour and highlight products?
