title Two more days to go. With 2014 coming to an end, it’s time to reflect on this past year and look forward to the new one. Looking back, 2014 was actually an amazing year for me, I travelled tons (Toronto twice, Vancouver, London, Paris, Rome, Florence, Saskatoon, Bismarck… okay, the last two aren’t that exciting), I had a bunch of exciting opportunities come to me, and hung out lots with the most amazing friends anyone can ask for.

I’m not a huge fan of New Year’s Eve (in fact, it’s the holiday I hate the most), but at the same time its one of the only days of the year when you can go full-out glam.

Maybe one day I’ll go to Times Square and watch the ball drop (hello, bucket list), but until then, its all about spending time with friends and drinking some champagne (and eating, can’t forget eating #holidaycaloriesdontcount). So for this New Year’s, whether you are spending the night in with friends and family or heading to ‘da club to party your way into 2015, add a bit of glamour to your look, whether it’s rocking a sequin romper or making a statement with a bold lip. For this makeup look, I just wanted to focus on glamour, and nothing is more glamorous than a red lip (which I don’t often do, so it must be a special occasion).  I used New York Color lipstick in Retro Red, and then for some shimmer, I went over top with their Big Bold Gloss in Big is Beautiful, which is a clear gloss that plumps your lips. For the eyes I kept it simple with a cat eye and false lashes (I used NYC High Definition Liquid Liner in black).  Keep the skin neutral, with a slight contour courtesy of NYC Sun ‘n’ Bronze in Coney Island Glow, and then for the nails, since my romper is the focal point of the outfit, I kept it simple with a taupe polish (NYC In a New York Minute polish in Park Ave).

I hope you have a wonderful New Year’s Eve, and all the best in 2015!

Outfit details: H&M sequin romper (still in stores!), Chanel Timeless Wallet on Chain, Aldo Boots, H&M hoop earrings.
