Walk the line… Make Up For Ever introduces Ink Liner

Mufe title

So you know when you use a black liquid liner, you get that perfect line, and then it smudges?  Yeah, been there, over that.

I rock a cat eye a lot, and the necessary tools to do so include a good liquid liner or gel and mascara. I typically use a liquid more often then gel, and lord knows I have my fair share of liquid liners, everything from low end to high end, and everything in between. Now because of my eye shape, if its not a great liner, the colour will smudge in the crease, and ladies, we all know that ain’t pretty. I also have the tendency to have watery eyes every once in a while, which will also smudge the tail, and thus wrecking the whole look.  So, needless to say, when it comes to liquid liner, I need something that will not budge.

I was already a huge fan of Make Up For Ever’s Aqua Eyes, so I was uber excited when they released two new eyeliners, Ink Liner and Graphic Liner. I got the chance to try out their Ink Liner, which is a tattoo effect 12-hour fast-drying matte black liner.  Unlike the Graphic Liner, it’s not a pen form, but rather a pot with a handle and a flexible brush (but not too flexible, it has the right amount of stiffness.. if that makes sense), so you can control the intensity of the line.

Obviously I’ve been utilizing this product for a cat eye look, and it does the trick.  This one is a deep black that goes on liquidy, then sets to a nice finish. It also does what it says and doesn’t budge, which is always a plus in my book.  When it comes time to remove it, there isn’t any trouble, unlike Benefit’s They’re Real liner, which I also love, but you need a heavy-duty remover to get it off.

I have a lot of black liners, most of which are in the pen form, which is probably the easiest to use, but I do feel like you get more flexibility and control with this particular form of liner (if you are a beginner to liner, this probably isn’t for you).  This guy retails for C$27, but for a liner that is that intense, doesn’t budge, and no doubt will last you a while, it’s worth it.

What’s your favourite liquid eyeliner?
