I have always wanted a Shu Uemura eyelash curler as they are the cult favourite tool for eyelash curling. When I heard that Chanel head designer and creative director Karl Lagerfeld released a limited edition collection I knew I had to pick up a curler… finally.

The curler is actually the same as a traditional Shu eyelash curler but includes a mini Mon Shu, a character Lagerfeld designed for the line, hanging from the arm, as well as a red pad in the curler (and a spare for later).

This is my first time using a Shu curler as I had a Sephora-brand one previously.  When I got my Sephora one I was told that it’s the same curler, it just has the Sephora name instead of Shu Uemura. I would have to disagree. I find the Shu curler is more round than the Sephora one and I would also say it gives a better curl on just bare lashes.

If you have always wanted a Shu curler I would recommend picking this one up. I got mine at Holt Renfrew and it’s the same price (C$24) as the regular curler.  Aside from the charm and the red pad it’s the exact same curler as the original version, but I mean owning something that has that Karl Lagerfeld flair, makes it all the way better.

Have you tried the Shu Uemura x Karl Lagerfeld curler?  If so, what are your thoughts?  Also, do you think the curlers are worth the hype?
