The great thing about having microbladed brows is the fact that you don’t have to do your brows. I’ve always had pretty thick brows to begin with, but little did I realize how uneven they were until I got them microbladed.
Now microblading isn’t the end all and be all, in fact, you actually have to go back and get them touched up every now and then as the pigment starts to fade. For the most part, I don’t have to fill in my brows and since I haven’t been wearing much makeup due to my current work from home situation, when I do apply makeup, I actually still reach for my brow products.
I’ve tried a lot of brow products over the years, but I do have to say that there is a reason why Benefit is known for being one of the authorities on the eyebrow. Their range of items make it easy to find the perfect product for you and if you are a little lost on where to start, then don’t worry, I got you covered.
Here are my top three Benefit eyebrow product picks.
Benefit Precisely, My Brow Pencil Ultra Fine Shape & Define
Powders, pomades, gels, and pencils… where to start? If you are looking for a killer pencil, then give their Precisely, My Brow (C$32) pencil a shot. This bestselling brow pencil is a dual-ended product with a fine-tipped pencil on one end and a spoolie on the other to shape and comb through brows.
Available in 12 shades, the pencil’s ultra-fine tip make it easy to fill in your brows and make them look natural. Create hair-like strokes that last all day long. This pencil is great for spot filling or just adding a little oomph to thick brows already.
I have this one and their Goof Proof pencil, which I also really like. The great thing about this pencil, and what makes it different, is the shape of it. Goof Proof is a little thicker and an angled pencil, whereas this one is fine tipped, making it perfect for really going in and creating the perfect brow (I like using Goof Proof for sculpting the brow, whereas this one is good for creating the brow, if that makes sense). Both pencils are good options to try, but if you are looking for precision, this would be the one to get.
24-HR Brow Setter Shaping & Setting Gel
Now that you have a perfectly sculpted brow, don’t forget to set it! Although Benefit does offer a coloured brow gel, you can’t go wrong with the translucent 24-HR Brow Setter Shaping & Setting Gel (C$32).
This invisible brow gel helps to shape, set, and lock in your brows for 24 hours. Start first with the pencil and then use this to gently go over them, helping to keep those perfect brows in shape. Best of all, your brows won’t feel stiff at all and they won’t flake either. Of course you don’t need to fill them in before if you don’t want to, and if you are looking for a product which will hold them in shape, this would be the one to get.
Gimme Brow+ Volumizing Eyebrow Gel
If you are looking for the ultimate easy everyday brow product, then this is it.
Gimme Brow+ Volumizing Eyebrow Gel (C$32) is a tinted brow gel that is aimed to create natural-looking fullness and definition. The product, available in 10 shades, and as a regular, mini, and value size, features a brush with tiny microfibres that adhere to your skin and brow hairs, creating a natural-looking brow. All you have to do is sweep this over your brows for an easy brow look, making it the perfect product for your makeup bag this summer.
I love using this with some BB or CC cream for an easy look since it adds just enough tint to my brows that fills in any sparsity they may have. Best part is, since it’s a gel formula, it helps to keep them in place and it’s also water resistant and long wearing.
You can use this alone or with a brow pencil for the ultimate sculpted look.
It’s pretty easy to find a brow product nowadays, but when I think of eyebrows and the best products to sculpt and tame them, Benefit is the top brand that comes to mind. They have a bunch of other products as well that are for brows, so depending on what kind of look you’re going for, I know you’ll be able to find the perfect product for you.

I have a million and one foundations, but when it comes to foundations in a stick format, I have one.
Well now, technically two since I just got in Benefit’s new Hello Happy Air Stick Foundation (C$44).
I’ve never tried Benefit’s original Hello Happy foundation but I’ve always really loved the super cute packaging, which features an adorable happy face right on the container. This new version features the same adorbs motif and is a weightless medium-coverage stick foundation.
Available in 12 shades, this foundation is aimed to give you a natural finish and is good for normal, dry, combination, and oily skin. Benefit sent me three of the 12 shades to try out and I was quite surprised with how different these shades are considering the numbers are 2, 3, and 4. Typically with foundation shades, there really isn’t that much of a difference between the lighter shades, but with these, you can really tell that they are not similar at all.
When it comes to stick foundations, I usually go through a phase with them. Although with that being said, I think the only one in my collection right now is the Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Invisible Cover Stick Foundation. I like the fact that it’s compact and makes it easy to travel with. I also really like how you can use it lightly or heavily since you control where it goes and how much to apply. Put it right on your skin from the stick or use a brush or sponge to apply it. No matter what you do, you’ll be left with a lightweight and glowy application.
I applied this foundation straight from the tube and then used a brush to blend it. The first brush I used didn’t do a good job at all, so I went in with one that was less dense and found it did an incredible job of blending it so it looked natural on the skin (as opposed to streaking, which was what happened with the first brush).
This doesn’t look or feel cakey at all, and thanks to the formula, which includes soft, lightweight powders and shea butter, it feels really nice on the skin. The foundation also includes chamomile and botanical extracts (chamomile, green tea, and Ginkgo biloba), meaning it will also nourish and calm the skin when you wear it, plus the lavender scent means it will also calm the senses when you apply it.
Since it’s almost officially summer (although we’ve been having summer weather here since last month), i feel like this is going to be on repeat all season long. I’ve been pairing it with the brand’s famous Hoola Bronzer (C$40), which is a matte bronzer that is designed to give you the perfect sunkissed glow.
Although this bronzer is now available in four different shades, I love the OG version since I find it gives you the perfect colour and doesn’t make you look too orange or brown. It gives you nice, natural colour, thanks to the finely-milled powder, that blends perfectly. Like all of Benefit’s cheek products, it comes housed in a little box with a built-in mirror and a powder brush to apply it.
Like I said, these items will definitely be on rotation all summer long and although I don’t typically reach for stick foundations, I feel like I’ll probably use this guy up quite quickly since I like how handy it is. You can also use this as a concealer, spot treatments, you name it. The more I’m writing about it, the more I see that it really is a great product to add to your collection (plus so great for travel since it won’t accidentally explode in your bag! When we can travel again of course…).

It’s been such a long time since I wrote a blog post about nail polishes.
Out of all beauty products, I get nail polishes the least. With that being said, I have SO many polishes that I never have trouble picking out a new colour to paint on my nails. In fact, since the beginning of this year, I actually have been wearing gel polishes since I’m trying to grow my nails out and I find this is the best way to do it. I have pretty thin nails that break or peel easily, so using a gel or shellac polish is the best way for me to help them grow.
Since I haven’t been able to actually go for a gel mani (I’m finally going later this week!), I have been using some at-home kits, but these new polishes from OPI actually came in at the best time since I actually have time right now to give them a try.
The Neo-Pearl collection consists of six shades in the regular lacquer and six colours in the Infinite Shine collection as well. The shades in each collection are different, however, OPI was so nice and sent me the regular polishes to try out.
Each of the 12 shades (six per formula) in the collection are a pearlescent finish in pastel colours. The shades range from pinks, purples, blues, and nudes, making this the perfect spring line to rock on your nails. Depending on the polish, some are more metallic than others and I find a lot of them to be really romantic colours that are soft on the nails and neutral enough to really rock with any outfit or occasion.
For most of the shades I used two coats to get an opaque finish, however, for the lighter colours, I did use three coats to really make it solid.
I don’t usually gravitate towards metallics or pearls, but I really love the pinks and nudes in this collection and if you are looking for softer colours, I would definitely look into picking up a few of these polishes.
Have you picked up any shades from OPI’s new Neo-Pearl Collection?
