I think it’s safe to say that most of us are upping our skincare routines right now.

Although my skincare routine is pretty rigorous on a normal day, I’ve lately been adding in some extra steps to help nourish it, including a scrub a few days a week, some extra serums, and applying moisturizer every single day.

Olay actually released some new products for spring a couple months ago and they’ve been very handy in keeping the skin looking nice and fresh.  If you are looking for extra nourishment and TLC to your skin then keep reading.

Olay Hungarian Water Essence Skin Calming Facial Moisturizer

For those with sensitive skin, Olay’s new Hungarian Water Essence Skin Calming Facial Moisturizer ($20.99) will help do wonders on your skin.

This daytime moisturizer is lightweight in texture and is free of dyes, parabens, oil, fragrance, and silicone.  It’s formulated with Hungarian water essence and a broad-spectrum mineral-containing sunscreen with SPF 15, meaning it’s gentle on the face and will protect your skin when venturing outdoors.

Since the formula is lightweight, it absorbs quickly into the skin and doesn’t feel greasy either.

Olay Scrubs

Like I said earlier, I have been incorporating more scrubs into my skincare routine since it helps to rid the skin of dead skin cells and Olay’s new exfoliators have some extra skincare benefits to them as well.

Olay’s new five-in-one scrubs are formulated with Vitamin C and hydrated silica cleansing crystals which break down as your cleanse your skin.  As a result, you are left with fresh, vibrant, and glowing skin.

I use these before my cleanser and after my makeup remover.  There is three varieties to choose from: Detoxifying, Hydrating, and Pore Perfecting (all C$12.99).

The Detoxifying scrub contains Vitamins C and black charcoal to help draw out impurities and detoxify the skin.  It also helps with oily skin and getting rid of excess grease and shine.

The Hydrating scrub contains Vitamin C and Caviar Lime to boost brightness, nourish, and invigorate the senses.

Finally, the Pore Perfecting scrub also has Vitamin C and dragon fruit to purify and refresh the skin, as well as transport you to the tropics (seriously, we all need that right now).

Olay Serum Sticks

If you are looking for a travel-friendly serum that promises not to be messy, then take a look at Olay’s new serum sticks (C$25.98).

Available in three formulas, Refreshing, Brightening, and Cooling, these pressed serum sticks are formulated with a combination of Vitamin B3 and concentrated hydrating ingredients, including glycerin.

The stick formulation ensures that there is less water in the formula and more concentrated ingredients, which means you get more bang for your buck with these.  Olay says there is 60 uses per stick, so these will last you a while.

I like these since you apply them directly onto the skin rather than applying on your hands and then working it in.  I also like the fact that it isn’t watered down, so you get more concentrated ingredients in the product.

The Refreshing Serum Stick contains Vitamin B3 with Sake Kasu, which is a Japanese ingredient containing amino acids and antioxidants to help refresh and reinvigorate the skin. It also has a scent of fruits and berries.

The Brightening Serum Stick contains B3 with Vitamin C, which is known to brightening the skin tone.  As for scent, this one has a fragrance of jasmine and white florals, perfect for applying in the morning.

Finally, the Cooling Serum Stick has B3 with cactus water to cool and soothe the skin. Cactus water has electrolytes and antioxidants to cool and soothe the skin. This one is perfect for a day out in the sun as it will provide a nice respite to sun-damaged skin. It has a nice energizing citrusy scent.

If you’re like me and have yet to pull the trigger on a Dior bag, then grabbing a Dior lipgloss might be the next best thing.

Although I’m not really a gloss girl, I am a big fan of Dior’s lipglosses since they are so luxe and I am that girl that likes to toss them into my purse just have them since they are Dior.  I also like layering them over a lip liner and lipstick for a full lip effect.

Anyways, new to the Dior lipgloss line is the Dior Addict Stellar Lip Gloss (C$39), which is a line of 18 glosses that are designed to pack the lips with shine, reflecting light to give you a mirror effect.  I had actually been planning on getting my lip fillers redone before all this Coronavirus stuff shut down everything, so these actually give you a more plumped appearance and are a nice little fix between appointments.

In addition to giving you major gloss, these also leave your lips feeling nourished as they are designed to care for your lips like a lip balm.

I have a few different versions of Dior glosses, but do find these to be different in that they are glittery than their counterparts. Many of the shades I received include mini speckles of glitter in them, which helps with reflecting light off the lips resulting in a more fuller-looking pout.

If you are confused between the difference between this gloss and their other ones, including the Dior Addict Lip Maximizer Plumping Gloss, this one is available in way more shades and doesn’t tingle on the lips. Instead of having something in the formula to plump up lips, it relies on the glittery effect to make your lips look bigger.

Overall I really like these and can’t wait to actually wear them outside the house.  With so many shades to choose from, Dior makes it so easy to find the one perfect for you.

One of my new favourite mascaras is Charlotte Tilbury’s Legendary Lashes Volume 2. I found that mascara really helped to lengthen and elongate my lashes, leaving them looking full, noticeable, and plush.  That was the only mascara I had previously tried from the brand, so when I got in her Full Fat Lashes, I was instantly intrigued in giving this a shot too.

Charlotte Tilbury’s Full Fat Lashes (C$34) is a bestselling, award-winning mascara that delivers curl, separation, volume, length, and drama.  It features a five-grooved brush that is designed to give you an optimal amount of product along the lash line, allowing your lashes to be pushed up and out.  The fine-tipped bristles comb through each lash, depositing colour along the way so the full lash is coated in product.

The brush on this mascara is different from her Legendary Lashes version. It features a long tapered brush so you can really get to every inch of the lash.  It’s designed to give you a false lash effect and the buildable formula allows you to really work up the amount of volume you want on your lashes.

I’ve been pairing this mascara with her liquid eyeliner, the Feline Flick (C$35). Available in both black and brown, this felt-tipped liner features a pigmented formula that delivers bold colour in one swipe.  The eyeliner dries quickly once applied and is waterproof, smudge proof, and humidity proof with a promised 12-hour wear.

I really like this eyeliner and have been grabbing it often (when I actually do my makeup, which nowadays isn’t that often since I’m stuck at home all day). I do like the brush on it and since the tip is extra fine, it allows for precise application.  The brush is also flexible, so you don’t have to press too hard to deliver colour on your lids. In addition, it dries down really fast so you don’t have to worry about smudging.

Overall, I do like this combo, although I do have to say that I prefer her Legendary Lashes mascara more than the Full Fat Lashes version. Both do a great job at giving you nice lashes, but I found for my lashes personally, Legendary Lashes just gives me more full, falsie-looking lashes.
