Supermodel brow: The brow products you need to try from Charlotte Tilbury
The one thing that can really transform your face? A proper brow.
I’ve always had pretty thick brows all my life (I’m lucky that the hair grows really fast, I usually have to trim my brows at least once a week). Now with that being said, I do have mine microbladed, something I’ve been maintaining for the last three or so years. Before I got it done, I didn’t think I really needed it, but after getting the service, I can tell you, having symmetrical and strong brows really do make a difference in the overall look and shape of your face.
With microblading, you need to get this service redone once a year since the pigment fades away after time. For the most part, I don’t really fill in my brows, but if I’m really doing my makeup or going out somewhere, I’ll fill in my brows or touch them up since often when I apply foundation it can cover up the pigment. Anyways, what I’m trying to get at here is that although I do have microbladed brows, I still like to keep some brow products on hand since they always come in handy.
Charlotte Tilbury as a makeup artist is actually known for creating a certain brow look, something she calls the Supermodel Brow Look. Her signature creation is full, fluffy, feathered and fixed and is a shape that is flattering on just about anyone. Since we all don’t access to Ms. Tilbury herself on a daily basis (or really any basis since that would be a total dream), thankfully, she has come out with a number of brow products that will help you achieve her signature look at home.
So if you’re ready for your “browformation”, then keep reading…
So the first step is to fill in your brows and Charlotte Tilbury has two pencils to choose from for this. First up is the new Brow Cheat pencil (C$32). This retractable pencil is refillable and is aimed to mimic the look of real brow hair.
This pencil, which also has a spoolie on the other end, adds shape and definition to the brows and the pencil allows you to create featherlight strokes to give you a natural-looking shape. The liner part features an angled tip for precision and the formula includes pigment and wax for a natural-looking effect that won’t budge.
This pencil will give you results for up to 16 hours and is also waterproof, smudge, and humidity proof. It comes in eight shades.
If you are looking for more shape and definition, then take a look at the Brow Lift pencil (C$32), which is a thicker pencil than the Brow Cheat version. Also available in eight shades, this retractable pencil is also refillable and mimics a more full, fluffy brow hair effect. It also has an angled tip and includes carnauba wax for stretch and elasticity, emollients for a creamy and smooth application, vitamin E to hydrate and condition, and pure natural pigments for natural-looking colour.
Since this pencil is larger and thicker than the Brow Cheat, I would recommend this for someone like me, where you may just need a little bit of product and are using it for a more sculpted and defined appearance. Typically with a brow pencil, I like to fill in the tail and tip, as well as the bottoms of the brow, so this adds the right amount of product for the look I’m going for.
The next step in your brow transformation is to feather, meaning to add texture and tint for a fuller-looking appearance. Your best tool for this is the Legendary Brows Tinted Eyebrow Gel (C$30), which is an eyebrow gel that features a micro-fine brush to mimic natural brow hairs. This makes it quick to add shape, texture, and tint and is great to use on days where you want something for your brows but don’t necessarily need to do the whole shebang.
Available in four shades, this gel coats, shades, and grooms the eyebrows and will also set brows in place. Since the spoolie is so small it’s great for coating every hair, even those fine, little baby ones. Brows last in place for 10 hours and it’s also water resistant.
Finally, to set everything in place, use the Brow Fix Clear Eyebrow Gel (C$30), which is a clear brow gel that sets, defines, and holds brows in place for up to 24 hours.
A clear brow gel for all hair colors that sets, defines, and holds brows in place for up to 24 hours.
This is one of those products that is so handy to have since it suits any brow hair colour and is filled with amazing ingredients. The formula contains silk proteins to improve hair condition and leave it feeling soft and shiny. It also has panthenol elixir to strengthen hair and improve and renew the appearance of damaged hair. Best part is that is lasts for a very long time (all day and then some) as well as is smudge proof, waterproof, and humidity proof.
When it comes to knockout brows, Charlotte Tilbury definitely has you covered, and best part is that unlike our mouths, which are covered by masks still, your brows are pretty much always on display, so why not make them showstopping?
