Magical surprises: Holiday gift ideas from Charlotte Tilbury
When it comes to holiday collections this year, one of the brands I was really excited for was Charlotte Tilbury.
I have a lot of Charlotte Tilbury products and for the most part, really love her makeup line. Most of the products she comes out with consistently surprise me and her holiday collection is no different. There are tons of great items and sets to choose from and she has products in just about every price point as well.
Looking for a new eyeshadow palette? She has it. A lipgloss? Yup, that too. Want some mega big lashes? No problem!
So, without further ado, let’s dive right in.
Okay, so let’s start with the lips. There are so many amazing items to choose from for the season and Charlotte Tilbury is known for her lip products.
If you’ve always wanted to try out her iconic Matte Revolution lipstick in Pillowtalk, but unsure of if it will suit you, then take a look at the Mini Lip Wardrobe set (C$40) which is a set of mini lipsticks in some of her most iconic shades.
Open the small little box (sometimes the smallest gifts pack the most punch) to find minis of Pillow Talk (a pink nude which the brand is known for), Walk of No Shame (a berry rose), and Very Victoria (a taupe nude).
I have gotten a few of these mini lipstick collections over the past few years and was actually impressed with the size of these for 2020. These ones are slightly longer than years past, meaning you get more product in here. If you’re like me and it takes forever to use up a lipstick, then these will last you a while. It’s also great for those who haven’t tried the brand before but want to explore a little and don’t know where to start. All three lipsticks are her Matte Revolution formula which I find make your lips look larger, give you a nice matte finish, and also hydrate the lips.
Now if you have someone who loves her Matte Revolution lipstick and you want to gift a new shade or a favourite, then she has released special holiday packaging with a bejewelled case.
Charlotte has released a number of 90s-inspired lipstick shades (C$39) that are exclusive to her website. These shades are inspired by the iconic supermodel era and come in limited-edition golden boxes with a bejewelled lid. The brand sent over the shade Super You, which is a warm peachy-nude, which in my opinion, looks better on darker or olive skin tones, as opposed to my cool-toned pale skin, but it’s a really pretty nude regardless (just on the more darker side).
For the gloss girl, you have to gift one of her Jewel Lips (C$36), which is a new product in her line and is inspired by opals, diamonds, rubies, and gold. Swipe these on your lips to give the illusion of fuller and wider-looking lips.
Available in five shades, these glosses are made with a diamond powder for a jewel-like finish. They also contains hyaluronic acid and vitamin E to hydrate.
I know lip glosses are a little tricky to wear right now since we have to cover up our lips with masks (and no one likes the feeling of your gloss sticking to your mask), but these would be great for your holiday Zoom parties or for when COVID finally ends.
The brand sent me four of the five shades and honestly, it’s so hard choosing a favourite. There’s Opal Magic, an opal-nude with iridescent pink sparkle; Champagne Diamonds, a champagne nude with gold sparkle; Pillow Talk, a nude pink with gold sparkle; and Walk of No Shame, a berry with pink and gold sparkle. These also feature stunning packing with the applicator lid having glitter all around. Super festive and pretty.
Finally for the lips, if you are looking for something that plumps your lips, then you’ll love the Collagen Lip Bath (C$40). These glosses are designed to make lips look fuller thanks to mustard seed extract, which hydrates lips and defines the contours of them, creating a fuller appearance. This gloss also features a number of oils and vitamins to hydrate and condition the lips as you wear it.
The brand sent me the shade Walk of No Shame, and unlike the lipstick colour itself, it will give you a more stain effect, which makes it nice for berry-looking lips. These do have a slight tingling sensation, but that just means that it’s working and you definitely feel like you have larger-looking lips. The brush is also this innovative heart shape which makes it comfortable to apply.
Moving onto the eyes, in addition to her lip products, her eyeshadow palettes also don’t disappoint. I have a few of her Luxury Palettes, in both the quads and larger, longer ones, and was so excited to see that she released some holiday versions this season.
The brand sent over two shades to play around with and they both feature special holiday packaging on the top. The first Luxury Palette of Pops is Dazzling Diamonds (C$66), which is a quad filled with shades to create the perfect smokey eye. You have a champagne pink, a gold, a grey, and a mustard taupe colour, all of which feature a glittery and shimmery finish.
The second one is Fire Rose (C$66) which features four shades of rose that will really make blue and green eyes pop. Open this up to reveal a shimmery blush pink, a shimmery brown, a golden champagne, and a matte berry. These shades are totally up my alley and the more nude shades are total staples in my makeup collection.
If you want to add a little more pop to your eye look, then take a look at her Jewel Pot (C$40), which are available in two shades, Walks of No Shame and Pillow Talk.
Open up the pot (which features a cute jewel lid) to reveal a pressed eyeshadow that instantly adds a little shimmer and glitter to your look. These pigments have a jewel texture to light the eye area up thanks to diamond powder multi-layered pearl pigments, which creates luminosity and a natural-looking glow. They are also infused with various vitamins and oils to moisturize the eye area.
Finally, to finish up the eye area, take a look at her Pillow Talk Push Up Eye Secrets Mascara and Eyeliner Kit (C$34). This set includes a full size of her Pillow Talk Push Up mascara (which retails for $34 alone) plus you get a revel size of her Rock ‘n’ Kohn eyeliner pencil in Barbarella Brown.
I’ve been using this mascara for a month now and have found that it does an incredible job of pushing up lashes to make them super noticeable. This mascara features an innovative brush that pushes up lashes for a 24-hour wear.
I’ve always been a fan of her mascaras and this one definitely does not disappoint. If you’ve been wanting to try it, or have someone interested in it, then this is a great set to pick up since you get the eyeliner for free. This liner is great since it’s a brown shade, meaning it’s not as bold as black usually is. The brown is a lot more subtle and great for everyday wear.
Finally, one of my other favourite Charlotte Tilbury products is her Filmstar Bronze & Glow Contour and Highlight palette, which she’s released as a smaller palette for the holidays.
The Mini Filmstar Bronze & Glow Contour and Highlight palette (C$40) is a smaller version of her iconic and award-winning contour palette, which is perfect for on-the-go touchups, as well as travel. Don’t be fooled, this palette is still a pretty big size and is half the size of the original version.
This palette, available in the light-to-medium shade, contains a bronzer that features a blend of pearl and pigment to contour and give you a sunkissed look. On the other end is a highlighter with a golden base that captures and reflects light.
I have both of the shades in the full size version and have been using this for years. It looks like she only offers this in the lighter shade, which is ideal for fair-to-medium skin tones. This would make a great gift since it’s pretty affordable and the quality is amazing for the contour kit. Plus, the price is great since it’s half of the original and truthfully, this palette will last you a while since there is a lot of product in here.
In the swatches photos above, I’m wearing the Fire Rose palette, the Pillow Talk Push Up Mascara, Super You lipstick with Pillow Talk Jewel Lips on top (on the right), and the Filmstar Contour palette.
Charlotte Tilbury has a ton of other holiday sets and items available as well (including some amazing skincare sets) and I highly recommend you look into what she has to offer since the price points are amazing for the brands and the quality is amazing.
I know we are days away from the holidays so ordering online probably isn’t the best option. If you have a Sephora or a Charlotte Tilbury counter near you that is still open, I recommend checking out what they still have in store.
Are any Charlotte Tilbury items on your wish list?
