Clean + balanced: Bare Minerals Mineralist Hydra-Smoothing Lipstick

You can really never enough too many lipsticks. It’s even better when it’s a clean beauty brand.

I really loved Bare Minerals last lipstick release, so when I got a box in the mail with 10 of their new Mineralist Hydra-Smoothing Vegan Lipsticks (C$26), I was ecstatic to try them.  This line is fronted by the gorgeous Hailey Bieber and their PR box included a deck of cards with her on them (my new favourite card deck).

This line is made up of 25 shades and is a moisturizing, creamy lipstick that is made with minimal ingredients.  Just because there isn’t a lot of “stuff” in here, doesn’t mean that it doesn’t pack on some colour.  These lipsticks are incredibly hydrating and help to improve the look of lines, texture, and dryness in just one week, even after you remove it. In addition to being vegan, they are also paraben free, cruelty free, gluten free, synthetic fragrance free, PEG free, and talc free.

As for what they do have, they are made up of just 19 ingredients, 40 per cent less than the top-selling lipsticks according to Bare Minerals, and are formulated with 76 per cent naturally derived extracts, including sustainably sourced botanicals.  The formula also includes omega-packed, cold-pressed European sea buckthorn fruit oil, mediterranean olive oil, and moroccan pomegranate extract, all designed to hydrate, nourish, and replenish the lips.

Now I know what you’re thinking, these lipsticks sound too good to be true. I can certainly assure you that they are amazing and not only is the colour range so stunning, but the way they make your lips look and feel is incredible. I don’t typically gravitate towards bolder colours or reds, but even the ones I was sent I absolutely love.  Each shade has an inspiring name and is even inspired by the healing powers of natural minerals, crystals and gemstones.  They also feature a natural scent of prickly pear and açai, which is really refreshing.

Although I do prefer a liquid lipstick since I like the way they don’t transfer, these lipsticks will be on high repeat all summer. Seriously, I’m so obsessed with everything about this collection. The shade range, the minimal ingredients, the scent,, the way they make my lips look and feel, seriously, I cannot see anything that is negative about these.

If you are into clean beauty, or even just on the hunt for a new lipstick, I cannot recommend these enough. As I said, I will be using these all summer long and if you’re like me and love nudes, then this collection will definitely be something right up your alley.

Have you tried Bare Minerals’ new lipsticks?
