Summer tint: Avon Magix Brightening Tinted Moisturizer

Summertime. Hot weather, lots of sun, pool time, beach time and everything in between. Typically for summer I’ll tend to go easy on the makeup since heat means sweat, and having makeup run down your face is not a cute look.

Typically if I’m heading to the pool or beach (or going into the office and am having a lazy day), I’ll just reach for a CC cream, BB cream, or a tinted moisturizer. Although all three are different, they all pretty much work the same way in that they provide skincare benefits to your skin while also providing a little bit of coverage.

Avon Magix Tint Brightening Tinted Moisturizer

New to the table is the Avon Magix Tint Brightening Tinted Moisturizer (C$15), which is available in six different shades and gives you some coverage while also hydrating your skin. Avon sent over two shades for me to try out, Light and Medium, and this stuff gives your skin sheer coverage while leaving you with a radiant finish.

I’ve used this product a few times in both shades and first off I have to note that both Light and Medium are actually darker than what i expected. The Medium shade works for my tanned skin and Light works for a subtle tan. If I were to just wear this with my normal pale skin, both of these would be way too dark for my natural complexion.

 Avon True Color Illuminating Stick

Luckily though I’ve been sporting a tan, so these have been working perfectly. This product doesn’t contain an SPF so I recommend putting a sunscreen underneath or using a makeup setting spray with SPF or a powder SPF product (check out this post for recommendations!). In addition to giving you a little coverage, the formula also hydrates and delivers advanced skin care benefits thanks to botanical extracts such as passion fruit and chia and sunflower seeds. It also softens imperfections and the look of fine lines and wrinkles.

For an extra bit of radiance I would pair this with the Avon True Color Illuminating Stick (C$14), which is a cream-to-powder formula that adds a highlight to your face.  Available in two shades, rose gold and champagne, this highlight is perfect to add a little more luminosity to your look and best of all, the formula contains coconut oil and butters to help pack in more moisture.

Avon Magix Tint Brightening Tinted Moisturizer swatched

Although you get a pretty moderate amount of coverage from the tinted moisturizer it doesn’t quite give you the same amount as my all-time fave, IT Cosmetics CC Cream, but for $15 it does a pretty good job. If you are looking for something that will give you some coverage, some glow, and hydrate your skin this summer then I would look into this product for sure.

Are you a tinted moisturizer person?
