Light and creamy: Garnier BB Light Nude Effect Moisturizer

BB creams aren’t really new to the beauty community anymore.  I remember when Western brands first started coming out with their own versions and it took the beauty community by storm.  Now most brands have their own BB cream in the line up and it’s always something nice to wear for those that like a little bit of coverage with a chock full of benefits.

One of the first BB creams I ever tried (maybe even the first one), was the Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector, a name I always thought was way too long for what it is, a BB Cream. Even though I’ve tried a handful of BB creams from different brands, I still find that the Garnier one is one of the best out there (at least here in North America).

Garnier has come out with a few different versions of the formula since they first launched the original, so naturally I was excited to try out their brand-new one, the BB Light Nude Effect Moisturizer.

This new BB cream is enriched with apricot oil, Vitamin C derivative, and Vitamin E. The antioxidants come together with light mineral pigments that adapt and adjust to the colour of your skin tone to provide you with a beautiful coverage.  The product goes on white and then once you blend it in, it adjusts to the colour of your skin like magic!

This product promotes four benefits: lustrous flawless finish; colour matching formula for a wide range of skin tones (always a plus, especially since most people get darker in the summer months); fades the look of fine lines and imperfections; and provides lasting hydration for 24 hours. So to sum it up, it’s a colour-matching foundation and moisturizer all in one.

Since I love using BB creams during the summer months (they are so easy to apply and light on the face), I was super excited to give this a try. I was confused by the white formula at first but was super happy and impressed on how it changed colour to suit my skin tone. You can either use it alone to provide some coverage on your face, or you can wear it underneath a powder foundation if you want a little more coverage (although to be honest, this stuff alone gave me a fair bit of coverage).

The BB Light Nude Effect Moisturizing Cream launched this month and retails for an SRP of C$19.99. Really, this product is for anyone. Love to wear makeup? Pick it up for days where you want something a little lighter on your face, or apply it overtop of a face sunscreen before the beach. Don’t like to wear makeup? This acts as a double agent, giving your skin moisture and coverage.  Honestly, you can’t go wrong with this one.

Have you tried Garnier’s BB Creams? Which is your favourite BB Cream?
