If I had to choose just three makeup items to bring with me everywhere, it’s foundation, lip balm, and mascara.

I’m a huge mascara girl and love long lashes.  I used to have lash extensions, but then decided that I needed to start saving money, so instead I’ve become a huge mascara girl. I’ve tried everything from high-end to low-end, and I definitely have a few favourites (all of which range in price).

The trick to getting those big, bold lashes is to layer mascaras.  For this month’s New York Color #NYCBeautyPRO challenge we were tasked to create some major lashes. We were sent three mascaras, Big Bold Angel Lash Mascara ($4.99), Big Bold Volume by the Lash Mascara ($4.99), and Big Bold Curl Mascara ($4.99).

Since I don’t like having too much product on my lashes, I chose to work with two of the mascaras, Big Bold Angel Lash and Big Bold Volume by the Lash.  First I curled my lashes and then applied Big Bold Angel Lash (the purple tube) for full-bodied, fresh and fluttery lashes.  After, I went over them with Big Bold Volume by the Lash for total fringe impact that volumes each lash up to 12x more volume.

If you want your lashes to look really long, go light with the lid shadow and instead of liner, just opt for a darker shadow in the crease.  The base of your lashes will look dark enough with the mascara, hence no liner needed.

For $4.99 each, these mascaras are great for layering.  I highly recommend choosing two of your favourite mascaras that are targeted for certain needs (example: length, volume, separation, etc.) and then cocktail them to get that full fringe look.
