The layered look: Rimmel London Colour Precise Eyeliners

Last weekend my friend invited me out to go see Cirque du Soleil Toruk, which is Cirque’s newest travelling show. The high-production spectacle is inspired by Avatar, and knowing this, I totally wanted to bust out my inner navi and and incorporate some blue into my look.

I’ve always been a fan of the layered eyeliner look and then it dawned on my that Rimmel London’s new Colour Precise Eyeliners have been sitting on my dining room table since I basically got them.  I was sent these a few months ago, along with other Rimmel fall goodies, and already having a million liquid eyeliners I haven’t gotten the chance to really try them out.

A big trend for fall 2016 is the negative space eyeliner look, which is so easy to do with these liquid liners. The Colour Precise Eyeliners are the first coloured liquid liner which offers clean contours of bold colour with some major staying power. They feature a soft tapered tip that gives you a sharp, clean line, and dry fairly fast, therefore no smudging.

I’ve used the black one a few times, however I really wanted to try out the blue and white. You may think that a white liquid liner is odd, however, these were made for layering.  What I usually do with coloured liner is apply a thin liner over top of a black cat eye. What this does is give you a wink of colour that is so subtle, but really adds a pop of your look.

The colour on these are very pigmented. I was the most impressed with the blue TBH since it went on so vibrant and paired beautifully with the black. For the white, I used this underneath the winged black and a little in my waterline, however, I don’t find liquid liners stay well when you put them there.

The tip of these liners are firm, yet easy to work with. And, depending on how hard you press, it can give you a really thin line or a thick one.  As for wearability, these stayed vibrant from the time I put them on (around 4:30 p.m.) to the time I washed them off (around 10:30 p.m.). I will also note that my friends and I went out for dinner beforehand and my one friend who always cracks me up had me literally crying at the table from laughter and they didn’t budge. I kept asking if my eyeliner was running, and surprisingly it didn’t (shocking actually since I was wearing three different colours).

Like I said, I try out a lot of different liquid eyeliners and some are definitely better than others. These Colour Precise ones from Rimmel London are very impressive and I like the fact that they offer a white and blue, as usually black and brown are the most common. These retails for C$9.99 at drugstores.

Have you tried out Rimmel London’s Colour Precise Eyeliners?

Please note, I was sent this product from PR. All opinions are my own.
