When it comes to nail colours I’m usually on two sides of the spectrum. I love light pastel colours and bold neons. There is no in-between.
Back in 2019 Sally Hansen released a neon collection as part of her Miracle Gel line. The Miracle Gel line is one of my favourites since it’s a gel manicure but without the curing process. There is a two-step system; the colour (which includes the base coat built-in) and the top coat to seal it. Once dry, your manicure will last up to eight days before chipping.
The original neon collection is still one of my favourite collections to date and I actually still have some colours kicking around with me here in Montreal. For the last year and a half I have actually been getting gel manicures at the salon (I find my nails grow the best when I have a gel mani), but if I need some quick colour touchups between appointments I will usually reach for these.
Last week I got a package in the mail from Sally Hansen which included a follow up to her 2019 neon collection, this time with new shades and finishes. The original 2019 collection is back in store as a permanent collection and for this year they are including six limited-edition shades as well that are more intense and bold.
The biggest difference between the original collection and this one is the finishes of the polish. Many of them contain a hint of sparkle, so the colour is amped up and really vibrates on the nail. To get the proper neon finish, do a coat of the white polish (Get Mod) first and then do a couple coats (I find three usually works for an opaque finish) of the neon shade. You can either leave it matte or coat it with the Shiny Top Coat for a gel finish.
New to the collection is Floresc-Pink, a hot pink; Feelin’ Grape, a neon purple; Squeeze the Day, a neon orange; Sun-Shine On, a neon yellow; and Chill Out, a neon blue. I believe there is another pink in the collection, however, I wasn’t sent this shade and it wasn’t on the marketing materials (might be in the US only?). They also sent along Electri-Lime, which is a neon lime green, but I believe this is a repeat from the original 2019 collection.
When it comes to neon nail polishes, these are definitely a must have if you are into those kinds of colours. I know summer is almost over, but I recommend getting your hands on a few of these (plus the white colour, obvi). You can never go wrong with a bright-coloured mani.
Do you have any shades from the original or the 2021 Miracle Gel neon collection?

Another day, another Charlotte Tilbury post.
I love a multi-use product, so when I got in Charlotte Tilbury’s new Tinted Love Lip & Cheek Stains (C$39), I knew these would be well used. These tints are a long-lasting, buildable lip and cheek tint that goes on wet and then dries down to a stain finish.
There are five shades available and Charlotte Tilbury sent me two of them to try out, Tripping on Love (cherry red) and Saint Euphoria (nude brown). Both of these colours actually apply way lighter than they look on the wand and give you a beautiful flush (so perfect for the summer).
The formula contains hyaluronic acid and vitamin E to hydrate and moisturize and the colour lasts for up to 12 hours. Once the colour dries down it’s transfer proof, lightweight and buildable. You apply the colour via a doe-foot applicator for precise application.
Overall I love the idea of these, however, I do have to stress that the colour is buildable. It has a water-like texture so it’s quick tin and doesn’t give you much colour off the hop so you will have to apply it two to three times to really see anything (especially Saint Euphoria). I think it’s a cool idea and if you love Charlotte Tilbury lip products then I think you’ll like these. It’s a fun idea and I like the fact that it doubles as a cheek tint too so you can throw it in your beach bag and bring it with you if you need some touchups on the go while taking in the last moments of summer.
Have you tried any of the Charlotte Tilbury Tinted Love Lip & Cheek Stains?

When it comes to applying eyeshadow I always apply a primer.
Sometimes I do a clear eyeshadow primer, but a lot of times I will actually apply a cream shadow as a base, which adds colour the lid, as well as helps to make my eyeshadow more vibrant. I have always been a fan of Charlotte Tilbury’s Eyes to Mesmerise (C$36), which is a cream eyeshadow that you can either wear alone or underneath shadow as a base.
These aren’t new to Charlotte’s lineup, however, she has recently introduced a couple new shades. If you haven’t tried out Eyes to Mesmerise, the formula contains smoothing silicones so the texture never feels greasy or oily, as well as polymers for a lustrous finish. These are also long wearing and have water in them to cool the eye area, vitamin E to hydrate and condition, and emollients so it’s easily blendable.
I’ve tried out a couple shades in the past of these but recently, the UK-based beauty brand has come out with a couple new shades and one of them is – you guessed it – Pillow Talk! Pillow Talk is the Charlotte Tilbury’s most iconic shade, so it’s about time that she released a shade in her Eyes to Mesmerize line.
Pillow Talk is a beautiful rose gold pink shade that is sure to make your eyes pop. I have blue eyes, so I find this shade really does wonders on making my eyes stand out. I love just swiping this on and applying a little brown in the crease and a champagne in the inner corner and then voila! My eyes are all good to go.
Another shade that is also new is Walk of No Shame, which is another colour that she is known for. Walk of No Shame is a rose colour with golden peach sparkle. Both shades are pretty universal and look amazing on just about any eye colour. I’m actually shocked that it’s taken her this long to release them in this product line.
Like I said, these are great to pick up since you can wear them so many different ways (I swatched them in the photos above prior to doing the rest of my makeup so you can see what the colour looks like applied). I also love sporting them in the summer months since I find cream products tend to do better on my skin when it’s hot and they are perfect to wear to the pool or the beach.
