What’s in my makeup bag! Plus items I wish were in my makeup bag

makeup title Okay so the title of this post may be a bit misleading, since I don’t really have a makeup bag, per se. As other beauty bloggers can tell you, our collections are kinda massive. I have a whole IKEA Alex drawer filled with makeup, with my bathroom vanity and storage also packed to the brim.

I don’t typically carry around makeup with me, aside from whatever lip product I’m wearing (or balm if I’m not wearing any colour), much to the shock of my friends and coworkers.

Instead of a “what’s in my makeup bag” post I’m going to share the must-have items that if I were to carry makeup bag, these items would totally be in there.

items

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Dim Light – Face getting oily? What about kinda dull.  This guy is a must to freshen up your complexion when it’s looking a little drab.  I love these powders since they make your face look amazing. The Hourglass powders are an investment, but worth every penny!

CoverGirl Oh Sugar! Vitamin-Infused Balm in Cupcake – I always have to have a lip balm on me at all times since my lips tend to get dry. These new guys from CoverGirl are great since they feature grapeseed oil, avocado butter, and Vitamins C&E, all with a sheer wash of colour.

Elizabeth and James Nirvana White Hand Lotion – With the super-dry Winnipeg weather comes dry hands. I love the scent of the E&J Nirvana scents, so this one is a must.

Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Concealer – Anyone else find their eyes looking a little drab after a workday? Freshen up that under-eye area with a concealer, which can also double for spot treatments (changing out that lip colour? You’ll need a fresh, clean base).

MAC Retro Matte Liquid Lipcolour in Oh, Lady and Too Faced Melted Lipstick in Melted Sugar – As I said, this is the one item I’ll always carry with me. I tend to have a few different options handy, a bold shade (like the deep purple from MAC) and a nude.

A fragrance – This is a great to throw those sample scents you get from department stores in your bag.  If you really love a particular scent, pick up a rollerball version of it and toss it in your bag since it takes hardly any space. I usually carry with me a custom scent from Escents.

Now obviously I have a wish list of items that I would absolutely love to carry around with me as well (because you can never have enough makeup!). I took a glance at Farfetch.com since they recently teamed up with Space NK Apothecary, and chose some items that I would absolutely love to tote around with me.

Products
L-R: Hourglass Lip Treatment Oil (C$62.32), Eve Lom Sunrise 1 hydrating powder (C$85.73), Lipstick Queen in Pinky Nude Sinner (C$44.91), Kevin Aucoin Candlelight & Sculpting Creamy Glow Duo (C$44.91), Percry and Reed Voluming No Oil Oil (C$28.58).

I would love to know what you carry around with you in your makeup bag (some of my friend’s bring so much stuff with them!). Leave a comment below with some of your must-haves.

Please note Farfetch.com did reach out to me to help promote their site, however, I received no compensation or items for this post.
