The innovator: Skindinavia Makeup Primer Spray

Title

I feel like a lot of primers have landed across my desk in the past few months.  Although I have been using primers under my foundation for years now, it seems that most makeup brands have been adding this must-have to their line ups. From pore vanishing to cancelling out redness to blurring imperfections, there’s a primer for everything.  I have tubes of the stuff at home from a variety of brands, but nothing liquid-like.  Until now, that is.

Skindinavia, known for their innovative setting sprays, released the first-ever makeup primer spray last month.  Their first launch in over five years and something new to the makeup category, this spray is a lightweight silicone-free spray that is good for your pores now and into the future, since it’s breathable and paraben-free.  The product is also clinically proven to soothe redness, prevent breakouts, control the appearance of oil, even-out skin tones, and reduce large pores over time.

The product works just like a setting spray, where you spray it directly on your makeup-free face.  Apply your foundation, blush and bronzer without the fear of creasing. I have been using this for a couple weeks now and I have to say that I love it.  It’s super light and applies like a fine mist. I have used the Skindinavia x Urban Decay setting sprays in the past and loved them.

Right now I am using Victoria’s Secret, based solely on the price ($14 compare to $36), and find that the setting sprays apply a little thicker than the primer. I have used this with a variety of foundations, but have to say that I love the way that it makes the Kat Von D Lock-It Tattoo Foundation apply.  That foundation, since it’s a full coverage, goes on quite thick, which can be a pain to blend at times.  With this sprayed first, it adds a bit of liquid to the foundation, making it easy to glide across my face, resulting in better coverage.  It’s also much faster to use, just grab the bottle, spray it in an X or T motion, and you are all set to go.

The only downside I can think of is the fact that you have to order this online, as I don’t know of any retailers here in Canada that sell it.  If you are interested in the primer and order it today off Skindinavia’s site, you can get free shipping (U.S. and Canada only), plus receive a mini bottle of the product for free.  The 4 oz. retails for $35 and the 8 oz. for $49.

Are you excited to try Skindinavia’s new Makeup Primer Spray? Please note, this post contains product that were sent by PR. All opinions are my own.
