Now that the weather is getting cooler and the air drier, my hair has been feeling less than down. It’s not just humidity that can make your locks frizz out.
Since I have straight hair, I don’t really have a lot of problems with frizz, but when I take a curling iron to it, then some issues tend to pop up. For some reason, when I use certain curling irons (like, for instance, one with a clip), my hair will be fine to begin with but then soon the ends frizz out.
Enter argan oil. The whole trend launched a couple years ago with the introduction of Moroccanoil into the marketplace, but soon many brands have followed suit and added this magic potion to their products. Pantene is no different. They recently launched their Smooth line of products, which has Moroccan argan oil in it to combat frizz.
I have been trying out their Smooth shampoo and conditioner products and love the way my hair looks, but I was most excited for the smoothing serum which helps fight frizz for 24 hours.
PANTENE® PRO-V® Smooth Serum
INSTANT FRIZZ FIGHTER
• Instantly absorbs for silky softness
• Provides intense moisturization
• Combats high humidity for brilliant shine
HOW YOU GET THERE: Use on wet or dry hair. Dispense 1-2 pumps into palm, rub hands together and apply to hair. Begin at the ends, working upward to mid shaft. Use more as necessary. Do not rinse off. Style hair as usual.
I usually add two to three pumps of this product to my hair after a shower (I won’t add it if I use the shampoo and conditioner from the line because I feel like it’s too much; I don’t want my hair looking greasy), and then let it air dry or style it as usual. I have also been adding it to my newly curled hair as well so it doesn’t become this frizzed-out mess.
So far, so good, and my hair is looking shiny, glamorous, and best of all, moisturized.
I have tried similar serums in the past from other drugstore brands, but with this product retailing for under C$10, it’s an affordable option compared to the more expensive lines out there (*cough Josie Maran, Morroccanoil *cough).
Are you going to try Pantene’s Smooth Serum?
