Smooth + summery: Why you need to try out Marc Anthony haircare

So a couple weeks back I got invited to an event with Kiss lashes to watch the Oscars in Toronto. I was actually already in town anyways, so the timing was perfect and the night started at the Marc Anthony salon in Yorkville.

I had been familiar with Marc Anthony products, but haven’t really used them at all since I have so many haircare products laying around and let’s be honest, unless I’m dying to try it, I usually won’t pick it up since I don’t need anything new (you should see my closet, I don’t think I can fit another haircare product in there…).

We started at the salon since we each got our hair dry styled and the stylist chose to do some really pretty curls with my hair.  I couldn’t help but notice that he would spray each section of hair before curling it and the hairspray he was using smelled amazing.

Fast-forward to last week when the brand was so kind to send through a ton of their haircare products to try out since I just couldn’t get over the smell of that Argan Oil hairspray that he was using at the salon.  If you aren’t familiar with Marc Anthony Haircare, no it’s not the former Mr. JLO Marc Anthony, the haircare Marc Anthony is a hairstyling champion and best of all, the products are sold at drugstores, meaning that they are super affordable.

Marc Anthony haircare Coconut Butter shampoo and conditioner for blondes

I recently touched up my blonde and since it got super brassy last time around, I’ve been really careful to use only products that will help my colour look vibrant, so I was excited that I received the Brightening Coconut Butter Shampoo and Conditioner for blondes. This duo features a purple shampoo and a brightening conditioner, which makes it perfect to use for my freshly-dyed blonde hair.  Both products contain coconut butter and chamomile, which cleanses, hydrates, and repairs dryness and gives you that sun-kissed blonde colour.  It helps to brighten your locks, while also providing you with anti-brassiness. Best of all, this stuff smells just like summer since the coconut scent lingers in the shower.

Once I’m out of the shower, I put in my usual split end tamer, then reach for the Volume Cocktail to give you thick and full-looking hair.  There is actually two products in here that you can use together or separate. There is a volumizing cream that will help plump those strands, as well as a root lift souffle, which you can massage into your roots to give it some extra volume.  Marc Anthony also has a few other cocktail products, including Smoothing Cocktail for sleek & straight hair, Beach Waves for texture & volume, and Curl Cocktail to defrizz and define curls.

After that, I like to spray in the Nourishing Argan Oil of Morocco Treatment before blow drying, which will give you stronger, shinier, and healthy hair.  Once my hair is dry, I’ll usually bust out my curling wand and after spray it with that amazing Nourishing Argan Oil of Morocco Extra-Hold Hairspray for Fast Drying, which smells amazing, doesn’t leave my hair feeling crunchy, and holds my curls wonderfully. As a result, my hair is left shiny and looks healthy.  Marc Anthony also has a mousse in this formula and a shampoo and conditioner, which if you have damaged hair, I would totally look into.

These are pretty much the only hair products I’ve been using since I got them last week. Since I have a million hair products already, something really has to impress me to get me to switch from my tried-and-true favourites, and I have to say, I’ve been really impressed with how these products make my hair look and feel.  I highly recommend the Coconut Butter shampoo and conditioner for blondes, and of course that hairspray, since it smells amazing.  Best of all, every item runs for under C$10, so it’s a total score!
