I hate to say it, but summer is almost halfway over. Seriously though, where does the time fly since I feel like New Years was just last week…

Everyone has those products that just smell like summer. Whether it be coconut, the beach, or something more floral, there are so many beauty products out there that once I get a whiff of them, they just transport me to a place or time in my life.

Although many products bring back fond memories for me, here are my top five beauty items that just scream summer.

Batiste Dry Shampoo in Tropical

Batiste’s Dry Shampoo in the Tropical fragrance has a coconut and exotic fragrance that transports me directly to the front desk area of The Mirage Casino and Resort in Las Vegas. Las Vegas has been an annual tradition with my girlfriends and I, and we always stay at The Mirage, which infamously sprays a pina colada scent into it’s facilities. Every time I spray this stuff in my hair my heart starts to beat faster due to my love of the city and that hotel. I just close my eyes and pretend I’m there.

Sun Bum SPF 30 Original Sunscreen Lotion

This is another product that just smells like summer (and with good reason since it’s sunscreen). I’ve never been to Hawaii, but I like to imagine that this is what it smells like. This sunscreen is a moisturizing formula that protects your skin and enriches it with Vitamin E. Like most of the other products in the Sun Bum line, it has that summery coconut smell to it. You’ll be slathering it on just to get a whiff of it.

Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy

Forever a favourite of mine, this perfume also reminds me of Vegas (probably because I picked up my first bottle of it at the Juicy Couture outlets there). Quintessentially summer in a bottle, this perfume combines scents of fresh berries with vanila and jasmine. Bathe me in it!

Olay Fresh Outlast White Strawberry & Mint Body Wash

What else would smell like summer more than strawberry and mint? This soothing body wash is designed to work with your skin’s natural pH, giving you nourished skin, all the while providing a scent that will have you in the shower for hours.

The Body Shop Pinita Colada collection

Having had too many pina colada’s this past April in Cancun, I was ecstatic to learn that The Body Shop was coming out with a collection dedicated to the pineapple and coconut cocktail.

Comprised of a shower gel, a body butter, and a body sorbet, this collection is summer in a bottle (plus the labels are sooo cute and bright!). Buy it for the tropical scent and then use it for the moisture.

Although I’ve been using these products on the ‘reg, I’ve also been obsessing over some edable items as well. Since we all want that summer bod, I’ve been adding Genuine Health’s new fermented Greek yogurt proteins+ protein powder to my morning and after-workout smoothies for a healthy kick.  Since this post is heavily focused on coconuts and pineapples (what can I say, I’m obsessed), check out this recipe for a creamy colada smoothie (aka the healthier version of a pina colada) using the fermented Greek yogurt proteins+.

• 1 cup of full-fat canned coconut milk
• 2 cups of fresh pineapple
• 2 scoops of Fermented Greek Yogurt Proteins+ Vanilla
• 2 tbsp ground flaxseed
• 1 tbsp raw honey
• 1 cup ice cubes

Directions: Add all ingredients into a blend and blend well. This recipe makes one serving.
