NOTD: Essie No Place Like Chrome

The last polish from the Essie Mirror Metallics collection is No Place Like Chrome, which is a very fitting name as this shade reminds me of the Tin Man from The Wizard of Oz.

No Place Like Chrome was actually the first shade from the collection I tried and although you can’t see a reflection of yourself through your nails, it’s still very shiny (trust me, I tried checking myself out through the polish, but it doesn’t work).

As far as silver polishes go, this one may be the best one I have come across in terms of the final result.  It’s not a special colour or anything, but it’s very pretty applied on.  Also, for my birthday I actually layered OPI’s Rainbow Connection on top and it makes a super pretty, festive combo.

As always, I applied two coats of No Place Like Chrome, with Seche Vite’s base coat underneath and Poshe’s topcoat.

This polish is very pretty but it’s a basic colour.  After having tried all the shades from the collection the stars are really Penny Talk and Nothing Else Metals. If you are a silver freak, then I would pick this one up.  It’s also good to layer underneath glitter polishes.

Have you tried Essie’s No Place Like Chrome?  What were your thoughts?

NOTD: Essie Good as Gold

Moving onto some real metallics, Essie Good as Gold is the perfect tarnished gold shade to adorn your fingernails.

I feel like gold is the most common metal shade out of all the colours in this collection, but this one is particular is more muted, so it’s not a bright gold, definitely more wearable.

As with the rest of the collection, I used Seche Vite’s base coat with Poshe top coat.  Two coats of Good As Gold left me with an opaque mani.

This shade is my third favourite from the collection, right behind Penny Talk and Nothing Else Metals.  This would be pretty to wear to a formal event or even to the beach on a hot summer day.

NOTD: Essie Blue Rhapsody

I have been obsessing over blues and greens (especially mint) so I was excited to try Essie’s Blue Rhapsody from their new Mirror Metallics collection.

This is the fourth colour I’ve tried from the collection and to be honest, some moments I love it and others I feel indifferent about it.  Compared to the other shades, I don’t think this one is that special. I love Penny Talk, and Nothing Else Metals really grew on me, but this one isn’t a standout in my opinion. I applied Seche Vite’s base coat with two coats of Blue Rhapsody over top.  I finished the manicure with Poshe top coat.  Like all the other colours I have tried so far from the collection, it’s super shiny and fast drying.

Have you tried Essie’s Blue Rhapsody?  If so, what were your thoughts?
