The one makeup item you need for this summer? A tinted moisturizer!

When it comes to wearing foundation, lately I’ve been finding that I’ve been skipping it altogether and just going for a tinted moisturizer instead.  I have gotten quite a collection of them and truthfully, the way it makes my skin look has rivalled even my favourite foundations.

Brand new to my collection is the Smashbox Halo Healthy Glow All-in-One Tinted Moisturizer with broad spectrum SPF 25 (C$48).  This tinted moisturizer, which comes in 12 shades, gives skin a lightweight dewy finish that also hydrates skin.  It contains an oil-free formula that also moisturizes, conditions, and protects skin for up to 24 hours.

Okay, so like I said, I have a lot of tinted moisturizers, but the thing that makes this tinted moisturizer really stand out is the fact that it’s primer-infused for an all-day wear. Smashbox is known for their Photo Finish Primer, so I love how they have included a similar formula in this to make it stay all day.  The formula also includes 81 per cent skin-caring ingredients such as rose extract, hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, goji berries, gold and peptides to hydrate and condition.  It also contains SPF 25, which makes it perfect to apply prior to hitting the beach, pool, or just for time spent outdoors.

I’ve been trying a lot of these kinds of products lately and it was love at first try with this one. I think this will be getting a lot of wear in the summer months and I also want to note that it’s also sweat and humidity-resistant, making it perfect to wear on days where it’s really hot outside. For reference, in the swatches, I’m wearing shade Light.

I also want to note that I love that there is a 12 colour shade range. Typically with these kinds of products, the shades available aren’t that wide ranging, but Smashbox made sure to include an inclusive spectrum of colours for all skin tones.
