Giving back: Products that give back during Breast Cancer month

October is a lot of things… Full-fledged fall, Canadian Thanksgiving, Halloween, and breast cancer month.

Did you know that one in eight Canadian women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime? According to the Canadian Cancer Society, 25 per cent of new cancer cases is breast cancer and it accounts for 13 per cent of all cancer deaths in Canadian women.

Many brands and companies come out with special-edition breast cancer products or initiatives this time of the year with a certain amount of proceeds going towards research and awareness. One of these companies is the Estee Lauder Group of Companies, which has their breast cancer campaign to unite and inspire people globally in a mission to create a breast cancer-free world (they actually founded the pink ribbon breast cancer campaign).  This program is their largest corporate social impact program and has raised more than $89 million since it was founded in 1992 to support global research, education, and medical services.

Although Estee Lauder is a beauty brand in itself, it is also the umbrella company for many beloved beauty brands. Companies like Aveda, MAC, Becca, Bobbi Brown, Bumble & Bumble, Glam Glow, La Mer, Smashbox, and so many others are all owned by Estee Lauder and are part of their Breast Cancer Campaign which they do every year.

This year, many items in the Estee Lauder Group of Companies brands have come out with special-edition breast cancer products where a proceeds of the sale goes towards the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF).

There are so many amazing products in the line up, but keep reading to hear about some of my top picks…

Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Multi-Recovery Complex special breast cancer edition

Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Multi-Recovery Complex

Estee Lauder occasionally comes out with special-edition bottles of their infamous Advanced Night Repair (C$130) and for this month they have released a metallic pink version with a breast cancer ribbon bracelet.

The serum, available in a 50 ml collectable bottle, will look so stunning on your nightstand and 20 per cent of the purchase price goes towards the BCRF (with a maximum donation of $304,000).

This serum is available as of September 1 and they will keep donating until June 30, 2021 or while supplies last. You can find it at Estee Lauder online or at counters nationwide.

Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion+

Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion+

The Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion will forever hold a place in my heart as this was the first department store moisturizer I ever used.  I don’t use it anymore (just based on the fact that I get so many moisturizers in nowadays), but it will forever have a special place in my heart.

Although there is no special packaging for this product this year (they have had some pink or ribbon-themed branding in the past), for every 125 ml of the Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion+ (C$37)  that Clinique sells for the month of October they will donate $10 towards the BCRF.

If you use this moisturizer already, I recommend you pick up a bottle during this month so part of the purchase goes towards breast cancer research.  If you’re going to get it eventually, why not purchase it now and help an amazing cause?

GlamGlow BubbleSheet Oxygenating Deep Cleanse Mask

GlamGlow BubbleSheet Oxygenating Deep Cleanse Mask

This next one is a total win-win.

The GlamGlow Bubblesheet Oxygenating Deep Cleanse Mask is a bubble mask that is infused with charcoal to deep clean and remove makeup.  Apply it to your face, watch it bubble up, then remove it to reveal glowing and purified skin.

Now the best part? 100 per cent of the proceeds from this C$9 mask goes towards the BCRF (up to $25,000). The donation campaign is from September 1, 2020 to June 30, 2021, or while supplies last, so there’s plenty of time to pick up a mask (or two or three!).

There are a few more items in their breast cancer campaign that goes towards breast cancer research as well.  Check out their campaign website to learn more and let me know if you pick up any of the products.

Please note, products provided by PR. All opinions are my own.
