Buttery smooth: Kiehl’s Butterstick Lip Care

My desert island beauty product? Definitely lip balm.

Okay, so I’ve chatted about my love for lip balm many times on this blog, but seriously, I pretty much have to carry one everywhere I go since as soon as I don’t have one on me, my lips get so dry that it’s uncomfortable.

I do have a few favourites but I am always open to trying out some new ones, including Kiehl’s Butterstick Lip Treatment (C$26).  I actually received a few of these last year and have been holding on to them and using them for a few months now to really put them to the test.

The Butterstick Lip Treatment is a lip balm that is ideal for dry lips as it delivers up to 12 hours of hydration. This is also a great product to toss in your vacation bag as there is also SPF 30 in the formula!

Kiehl's Butterstick Lip Care

Available in six shades, this product glides on the lips and keeps them moisturized, thanks to ingredients such as fair trade coconut oil and lemon butter.

I had received three of these to try out, the clear one, Simply Rose, and Touch of Berry. My favourite is clear since I usually tend to apply this morning or night time after my skincare routine, so I don’t need any colour. The other two do leave a nice tint on the lips, so if you are looking for something nourishing with a bit of colour, then take a look at the shades they have available.

Overall, I think this is a good lip balm. When compared to the Sugar ones (which I found the packaging to be very similar), I would say that these are a bit thicker than the Sugar ones, but they aren’t too thick that it’s uncomfortable to wear. In fact, these would probably be better for a windy day, to be honest.

Sure, C$26 is a lot for a lip balm, especially since there are so many amazing ones out there that are more affordable. If you are looking for a treat, then I would recommend investing in one of these (maybe even one of the coloured ones to get a double whammy out of the product).  Really though, like I said, you can never have too many lip balms in your life, so if you are interested in picking one up, I know that you’ll get a ton of wear out of it.

Have you tried Kiehl’s Buttersticks?
