Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Summer 2019 Neons collection

When it comes to nail polish colours and summertime, I like to go bright.

I love a great neon, but very rarely will I come across a colour, or a collection, where the neon actually pops.  The brand can say it’s neon, but unless it’s bright enough to hurt my eyes, it ain’t neon.

Pretty much the only line I have come across who has actually done neon properly has been China Glaze. Then Sally Hansen came out with the neon collection of my dreams.

Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Summer 2019 Neon collection

Sally Hansen’s summer 2019 Miracle Gel collection (C$12.99 each) is filled with six neon shades in hot pink, coral, blue, lime, yellow, and purple. Their Miracle Gel line is a two-step process where the colour actually has a base coat built in, then you top it with their topcoat which gives you mega shine and long wear. For this particular collection, because you want these colours looking bright, layer them over a white colour to really make them pop. Sally Hansen sent along the shade Get Mod to help them reach their brightest potential.

When it comes to this collection, it’s hard picking a favourite, but the most unique colours and true neons (in terms of bright colours that I haven’t seen before) is Fuchsia Fever, Lemon-Chillo, and Electri-Lime. The three other colours (the blue, coral, and purple) I find have easily been done before without the need for the white underneath.

Since these shades are bright, they are a little on the thin side.  I found for the yellow, coral, and green three coats did a good job of making the colour look opaque over top of the white. As for wear, they held up pretty well, but I did experience some chipping, mostly because I have thin nails that tend to peel. Overall though, I absolutely adore this collection.

Neon is a fashion trend right now and if you are too scared to sport a highlighter yellow top, then I would definitely look into trying it on your nails instead. Sally Hansen also has a Miracle Gel matte topcoat if you want to sport these bad boys without the shine.  I don’t recommend picking up just one colour, I truly believe that you need all of them in your collection.

Are you into neons this season?
