Brows need a little lift?
I recently blogged about how much I am loving the Benefit Cosmetic’s Goof Proof Brow Pencil. As you guys know, I got my eyebrows microbladed last year and although I love how they look, it’s still smart to invest in a good brow pencil to fill in any sparcity as the pigment wears away (microblading doesn’t last forever).
I’m from Winnipeg and one of our city’s entrepreneurs, Giovanna Minenna, has been getting a lot of press lately thanks to her Dragons’ Den appearance, as well as her brow pencil, Browluxe.
At first glance, the Browluxe Precision Brow Pencil (C$21.95) looks very similar to the Benefit Goof Proof, and more or less, it works the same way. This pencil is housed in a luxurious gold casing and features a spoolie on one end and a retractable pencil on the other. The pencil side is actually angled to replicate a microblade, allowing you to recreate those fine strokes representing brow hairs.
The pencil is available in eight different shades to cover a variety of brow colours and skin tones. The formula is vegan-friendly and not tested on animals (which, I don’t believe the Benefit one is) and your brows won’t move all day thanks to its water-resistant formula.
I received the shade Coffee, which is one of their newer colours. Overall, I thought the pencil did a great job of filling in my brows since it was nice and creamy, and the angled tip was a nice help to create that faux hair effect. In addition, I really love how the spoolie helps to correct any mistake you can make (not only does it brush out your brows, but it acts as a great eraser as well!).
If you are looking for a new brow product to try out, or if you are a fan of Benefit’s Goof Proof but looking for a vegan version, I would recommend looking into Browluxe. Not only is it a natural product, but it’s also a Canadian brand (the pencils themselves are made in South Korea), which is definitely a huge perk (#supportlocal). They do offer worldwide shipping and if you are in the Winnipeg or Calgary area, then you can pick yours up a number of stockists available through their site. If you choose to order a pencil you can also score 15% off with code POP15!
What’s your favourite brow pencil?
